Phew, just in time!

I'm mouse and I love a few to drink. I love all things cheese and I love MrMouse Grin

Welcome to the Bus. We are a collection of drinkers, non-drinkers, and those who are somewhere in between but we all have the same thing in common, we can't just have 1 drink and then stop.

Come say hi, we don't bite Smile.

Here are the other threads to date, if you have a spare hour or seven to kill. Wink

OUR HISTORY

OP posts:
Mouseface · 19/09/2011 17:44

Bloomin eck! You lot can gab! Grin

Well, I'll catch up in a mo but wanted to say I'm back (obviously Wink)

My ECG was fine, nothing to worry about there and now I have to wait three days for my bloods to come back.

noteven - yes, both times. DH saw the first one, well, the end of it and then DD saw yesterday's as I was in her doorway.

So, just a waiting game for me now. I told the doc today about the numbness in my left arm coming back too.

I am a bit about it but I'm sure it's nothing. Smile

Off to catch up xx

sorry guys - can't be doing with all this harvest festival spiritual sounding stuff - just saw inde's post and it made me smile a lot!

Cake ingredient and equipment purchasing day tomorrow. Sounds as though the "Be-Ro" or whatever cookbook is the equivalent of the Edmonds cookbook that I grew up with (may have to get a copy and send it to the best behaved babe!) Noteven -weirdly buttercream icing is one of the few baking related things I feel comfortable doing without a recipe - very strong memories of a particular white plastic bowl, and mixing it with a butter knife.

Are drop scones the same as what I would call pikelets, I wonder? off to check recipe...

thursomuchtolookforwardto · 19/09/2011 17:52

Mouse so happy that the ECG was ok. I am sure that you do feel a bit wobbly about it, but, if you remember my health scare from last year, the thinking is often the worst bit. xxx

Thanks for the dropped scone Inde, although I would prefer one that hadn't been on the floor Grin.

Fairenuff · 19/09/2011 18:04

Could everyone please stop talking about cake and scones, you are not helping Day 1 of my new diet Grin. I am going to pilates in a bit then back for a sensible low fat meal.

JWN we used to have fish paste sandwiches and victoria sponge in front of Sunday night TV, Basil Brush followed by the Generation Game with Bruce (give us a twirl Anthea) Forsyth.

Ma I can't remember who posted the boxing ring analogy but it does make you think, how much more of this can I take? Just do it today, my lovely. One day. You can do it x

MsGee you post away. This from you, I have a sense that I will be ok made me Smile.

Mouse phew, hopefully nothing too serious then but make sure you get to the bottom of it. Bit worrying not knowing what's caused it but hopefully a temporary thing. Could it be viral? When my DD was about 8 months old she suddenly couldn't sit up on her own anymore. Everytime I sat her on the floor, she just fell over. I took her to GP in a panic about allsorts and he said it was just viral and she would recover in a few days Confused. But he was right.

Mouseface · 19/09/2011 18:28

I can't wait until the 23rd.

I have a few 'cupboards' that need emptying. Smile

MsGee - post what you need to here, if it helps, share it with your friends xx

Not a huge fan of cake, unless it's cheesecake! Grin

OP posts:
Mouseface · 19/09/2011 18:33

Jesus - sorry you're having a bit of a shite time if things, you have my full empathy with your builders and your car xx

I guess these falls could be viral, wouldn't surprise me. I'm not about what it is, more about falling. I'm black and blue and bloody sore! Plus I'm wary of not dropping Nemo or landing on him. Blush

DH id a teeeeeny bit drunk. Grin but I'm glad he went. Smile Means we can all go to bed to sleep. He's been a bit, ahem, frisky of late. I even got to thinking of splashing some bromide into his wine. Shock Grin

BBwannaB · 19/09/2011 19:12

Ma how are you doing so far tonight? I'm here to hold your hand as well. Faire I'm with you, enuff of the cake talk already, trying do follow a low carb diet here, and already forgoing sausagemeat plait that I have made for the men of the house!

swallowedAfly · 19/09/2011 19:41

ok so my fuck up went like this.

we went for our walk and stopped off for a pint, which turned into two because ds got all friendly with some kids there and was having fun. and old friend was there with his family, hardcore drinker, starts buying sambuccas, the beast awoke. i seemed sober at the time, fine with ds, no terrible behaviour other than stupid drinking demon head but apparently i came home and made cheese on toast for us (two bites out of mine before i passed out by the looks of it) and did various other bits and bobs that i have no. memory. of. whatsoever. not good.

felt like shit this morning - nearly tipped into despair and self loathing mode but snapped myself out of it just in time. it was a fuck up. move on.

not drank today and hope not to this week at all.

mouse xx be careful

BBwannaB · 19/09/2011 20:14

Anyone in central London tomrrow and wants to meet for lunch? I have a meeting scheduled to finish at 12.30. Very short notice, but just on the off chance...

Fairenuff · 19/09/2011 20:17

Ah Saf I used to love sambucca. I think I know what happened to you though. They are so easy to drink but have a 'delayed' kick so you just don't realise how hammered you are until it's too late. Cointreau does that to me too. But never mind, like you say, put it behind you and back on the health kick x

Mouseface · 19/09/2011 20:21

Bedtime for this mouse

Night night lovely ladies xx

OP posts:
dementedma · 19/09/2011 20:43

thanks BBwanna and all the other lovely babes offering me support. I am drinking tea and venus you are right. don't feel too much like drinking anyway tonight and still feel a bit shitty, but the next few days......mustn't project, mustn't project. DD2 will be 18 on Saturday so there will be drinks then.....eeek, projecting again.
Am doing ok and not drinking tonight. First night in a very long time Grin.
Need to be sober for the next round of arguments which are brewing with DH, once he wakes from snoring on the sofa.

BBwannaB · 19/09/2011 21:00

Hi Ma ODAAT but I think Venus' idea of using friday as a goal is a good one.

Or maybe just the thought of the smugness and moral high ground in response to DH? Grin
Tomorrow you will wake up feeling a lot better, are you able to get out running again yet or still in pain?

dementedma · 19/09/2011 21:05

going to try a jog tomorrow and see how I get on. Been to Pilates tonight and that was ok. We'll see how it goes.

Fairenuff · 19/09/2011 21:13

I've been to pilates too ma and just had grilled fish with baby new potatoes and veg for dinner. Grin

I think you'll do fine if you just do not project. And a row with DH won't help. What's on TV tonight? I record everything so I never know what night things are on but am going to watch 'I used to be fat' to help keep motivation up.

Right, off to make a peppermint tea.

BBwannaB · 19/09/2011 21:15

That's great, well done. I could never get on with Pilates, have no idea what/where my 'core' should be.
Congrats for DDs 18th, and I mean that congrats to you, you have brought a child up all the way to adulthood, you should be right proud of yourself. That time certainly rushes by though, mine are both 20 something now, I find it unbelievable at times.

Fairenuff · 19/09/2011 21:32

Btw has anyone heard from TheBoM recently? Hope you are OK lovely.

venusandmars · 19/09/2011 22:20

Shepherd's Pie here for tea - just right for a dark wet September night.

ma do you fancy meeting up again sometime? Some time out of the house, away from the temptations for a while? I'm busy all this week, but after that.....

Ilovemypinkflowerywellies · 19/09/2011 22:26

Hi all I think I must have fallen asleep on the back seat of the bus. I am wading my way through all the past threads and they truly do make me feel stronger.

I'm finding the evenings very long but the fact that I'm coping better with the self inflicted no wine is nice. Normally by now I would have been a drunken heap on the sofa so to be in my bed clear headed feels brilliant.

I hope you have all had good days. Enjoy the rest of your trip those of you staying on for the night tour.

mouse I'm pleased your ECG went well

venusandmars · 20/09/2011 08:19

MORNING everyone Grin

dementedma · 20/09/2011 09:00

morning all - I did it!!! yay for me, and all of you whose vibes were coming at me all night.Grin I realise that in RL one night booze free is nothing to shout about but it is on here!
This is not day 2 - the more the numbers add up the more I feel I will fail. So it is another Day 1.
Downside as usual is that no drink means no sleep but guess that's the lesser of two evils.
venus a meetup would be nice - need to wait until DD has gone orf to Spain and things have settled down a bit, so into October?

Mouseface · 20/09/2011 09:11

I realise that in RL one night booze free is nothing to shout about but it is on here!

ma - it is a HUGE thing. For all of us who struggle to get through a single minute without a drink, it's massive.

Well done to you lovely lady! I know that last night must have been incredibly hard for you. Hungover or not, YOU DID IT!!!!! Smile

Morning Babes Smile

I have two poorly DCs to look after today. Nemo has a cough and DD too. Both have been up all night hacking their little lungs up. Sad

I'm shattered. Had a text from DH this morning and he wants to come home. Bless him. He is rubbish at having a break.

Raining lots here today so it's a day for a warm house, PJs, soup and cuddles. Smile

Oh, and no booze for this little mouse last night.

OP posts:
Ilovemypinkflowerywellies · 20/09/2011 09:22

Morning all Smile

Another hangover free morning yipee!

venus huge grin from you it made me smile

Have a good day everyone

notevenamousie · 20/09/2011 09:24

Morning lovely BBs. ma well done you - the sleep will come, if you're prepared to stick at it, give time time (something I am rubbish at doing).
I am going to a morning meeting at the beach (well, it's in a church at the seaside), a blowy walk on the said beach, pick DD up from school, then Hospice Service of Remembrance tonight . 4 months today and it'll be good to get back through the door (especially before I have to do it professionally).
Will probably be back later, love to all x

obrigada · 20/09/2011 10:20

Messed up big style on Saturday night, still not ready to talk about it on here, need to really process it first myself Blush
