To be angry at his abortion request?

Breevandercamp1750 · 22/08/2011 18:02

I'll keep this brief but a few months ago we discovered that I was pregnant again. We already have 3 DCs, youngest is almost 9 months. He was over the moon about new arrival but in the last few days has changed his mind. I'm 18 weeks now and really don't want an abortion.

I don't understand his issue, we live in a large house with spare bedrooms and can easily afford it.

I just don't understand. I feel so empty.

There is something about posts that are completely out of character for that particular poster though isn't there?
Kind of like me advocating the gas chamber for my kids.... something not right somehow...

SheCutOffTheirTails · 27/08/2011 20:15

Yes

I really think mentioning gas chambers on a thread as sensitive as this is very very inappropriate. Sad

Empusa · 27/08/2011 20:19

Does this count as troll hunter hunting?

Come off it TSC. Straight from the horses mouth:

i think i've sussed how to pee truth economisers off...i am going to lol and hun and text speak on dubious threads in future. so not hunting but not engaging really.

So lay off with the fake outraged offense. This thread is weird.

WhoseGotMyEyebrows · 27/08/2011 20:25

Can someone tell me which post they are talking about. I didn't see TSC do anything. I thought she was being genuine.

SheCutOffTheirTails · 27/08/2011 20:29

She wasn't, and she's still not.

Just go back and read the thread again, it's hard to miss.

CheerfulYank · 27/08/2011 20:31

Oh. Well that's not on then.

In completely unrelated news, I love your name BooBooGlass .

LeBJOF · 27/08/2011 20:32

I guess that invoking Godwin's Law means the thread is officially over then Sad

Dohsex · 27/08/2011 20:34

disingenuous. it was on a different thread that a poster said they would 'lol' and 'hun' everytime they saw a troll (see boobooglass at 20.24 where she quotes). And they did. Up there ^ for those who didn't see the other thread this must all be a bit confusing.

op just ignore them and carry on posting if you feel you can.

ChippingIn · 27/08/2011 20:35

Bree - not sure what's been going on, on this thread. I don't want to be drawn into it. Please keep posting. I'm sure no one thinks you are a troll (and if anyone does then they need to report it to MNHQ and stay off the thread). We will help you through this, through the lonely shitting nights ahead - it's a roller coaster and you don't need to ride it on your own. Just report any posts that upset you and keep posting.

Utter utter bastard he is - this will kill his poor Mum as well wont it :(

He's lower than pond scum.

BooBooGlass · 27/08/2011 20:37

fwiw, I would have stayed out of this were it not for the fact that I've had my own, real time horrid events thread in the past (name changed for it too). I would be mortified if people picked it apart in the way that's been done here. People come here for support at the time they have noone else. I know I did, and I was lucky enough to recieve hundreds of lovely replies. I would have been absolutely devastated if people had done the childish, playground, cliquey shite that's gone on here. You lot should be ashamed, troll or not.

StrikeUpTheBand · 27/08/2011 20:39

I didn't see the other thread, but even so I think some of the posts above really do shriek troll-hunter. It is not subtle in the slightest, and for someone who was really going through a serious crisis is cruel. There are trolls out there obviously, but to try and get around the rules about troll-hunting in this way is not right Hmm.

StrikeUpTheBand · 27/08/2011 20:40

I couldn't have said it better myself BBG

RedHotPokers · 27/08/2011 20:44

The troll hunting on this thread was about as subtle as a brick (and I can be quite dense about such things!). I normally stay out of these bun-fights, but I must admit to finding veiled troll hunting actually more offensive that the trolls themselves. And then to go and giggle about it on another thread is a bit much.

Suspect troll: report to MNHQ or hide thread. Very simple. No need for all this drama and secret squirrel antics.

WhoWhoWhoWho · 27/08/2011 20:45

I read TSC's hun style post earlier on not long after it was posted and immediately (recognising her name as a long term poster) knew it was 'off', not her usual style and it stood out like a sore thumb. I didn't have time to post at the time but have popped back on and seen I was not the only one to notice it. The quote from another thread just confirms what I had already suspected.

I have had horrible RL relationship problems in the past and posted on here. I did get some Hmm face and snidey troll comments but I also got a lot of unwavering support and that pulled me through a really dark time in my life.

Bree please stick around if only to vent and read the supportive replys. Hope you have got rl support in place too, I think you are right to disengage from him and his behaviour - just focus on you and your dcs and don't be apprehensive to ask your support network anytime you need anything.

imnotforty · 27/08/2011 20:47

You don't need to read the other thread at all, thesecondcoming was blatantly being a sarky mare.

youarekidding · 27/08/2011 20:52

WOW, this thread has moved on.

Hope you have an OKish BH weekend.

Sorry to hear the latest updates. I was cheated on and it hurts. (not nearly as bad as your situation either)

Mumcentreplus · 27/08/2011 20:57

take care x

SheCutOffTheirTails · 27/08/2011 20:58

You should read the other thread though, now that this one has died.

It's hilarious - loads of bellyaching about how they're not allowed to spoil any threads that make them suspicious and vows to only read threads by their mates from now on.

Yeah, 'cos that would make for a deadly forum.

Feels like time for another moldies.

SophieRMumsnet · 27/08/2011 21:06

Please report to MNHQ rather than Troll hunt - thanks.

pizzadelivery · 27/08/2011 21:10

!st time i've not read the whole thread, but have read all of your posts Bree Please ignore the idiots and I hope you are ok. I went though something similar and it does work out. PMif you want x

honeyandsalt · 27/08/2011 21:16

What the what? I'm sorry but not everyone reads every MN thread. Speaking for myself I have said things like "hun" it's because I bloody mean it. If someone had an issue with anyone at this stage they should have just bloody reported it instead of hijacking a thread, just because you read her posts in one way really doesn't neccessarily mean she wasn't genuine.

Bree, the relationships board really is good. I'm so sorry your thread turned into this. Take care of yourself, and keep posting if it helps. Writing things down usually helps me and while things seem to have gone off on one just now, there are also a lot of MNers with support and insight about.
