Had meeting with DV woman today.

Met up with her at my HV's house.
Session was tough & I had to go through everything that went on at home.
DV officer was shocked & terms it as serious emotional abuse.
Told me a little about my rights regarding the house & has advised me to make photocopies of all personal stuff, like childrens birth certificates, mortgage details, marraige certificate etc.
HV is really starting to get other bits moving.
Very scary.

I do not expect sympathy, dewberry1. I can also see, as an outsider looking in, why people would feel frustrated with me & think nothing is being done. I would feel frustrated with me too!
As it happens, decisions are starting to be made & there are loads of tough, tough things going on, which I am going through with for the sake of my boy's. I do not want to say too much on MN atm, though, as it is too risky.
As for my Mum - she knows loads of things already & has even been on the end of the phone when he has been raging in the background. However, my parents are the kind that would rather you stayed together & tried harder.
They would probably go mad about me even seeking support, so for now I am better dealing with things on my own.

Sorry I haven't replied but haven't been online that much over the last week. Will email you probably over the weekend. Hope you are ok.

dewberry1 · 02/02/2006 09:57

so sorry if i sounded harsh.. i just wish you happiness and want that for you soon xx

spangles · 02/02/2006 13:53

Nothing constructive to say LW except that I am thinking of you and hope the day soon comes when you post that you are a single woman again and FREE of H. Stay strong till then.

Lemmingswife · 02/02/2006 16:32

Glad you got my mail ok, CQ. Third time lucky!
Dewberry1, thank you. I don't think you were too harsh, as it does appear that not much is happening, but I can assure you it is!
I am a little over sensitive atm.

spangles · 07/02/2006 18:26

Hoes things LW?
Hope things are still quiet at home for you.

Lemmingswife · 07/02/2006 18:40

Thanks for thinking of me, spangles.
Things are quite calm atm, but he is working long hours, so I am not seeing that much of him.
Last week wasn't the greatest.

Lemmingswife · 07/02/2006 20:51

Ahhhh, thanks MM.
Don't be embarrased about having not posted before. I too, have read your thread but not known quite what to say!

OP posts:
mistressmiggins · 07/02/2006 20:54

well thats the beauty of MN
you know people are interested and watching, even if silent

good place to sound off when feel down
good place to laugh when feel jolly

Lemmingswife · 07/02/2006 20:56

Absolutely, MM!
How are you doing now, anyway?

OP posts:
mistressmiggins · 07/02/2006 21:01

well kids doing really well so Ive done a good job there...but not doing so well myself

cant understand why H was unsupportive of my PND; why he had an affair; why he was sooo attentive etc for 6 weeks and then left 2 wks later....

finding it hard BUT I will get trhere AND at least my children seem unaffected which is the main thing....

how are you getting on....

Lemmingswife · 07/02/2006 21:12

You poor thing - you have certainly been through a tough time. You are bound to find it really hard, but you seem very strong.
Glad your children are okay. How old are they?
I had PND after my 2nd child, which was partly H induced. It is horrible isn't it?
How long had you been married?
I am doing okay. I have strong days & weak days and times where things are calm & times when they are far from it.
I am starting to get things moving a bit though.

Lemmingswife · 07/02/2006 21:35

We got married in 1999 too. Feb 99 - it is our 7th anniversery on the 17th.
Been together (this time) since Dec 95.
I am definitely further along than I was & am starting to make plans. It is all very, very hard though.
Sorry to hear you are having such a hard time coping with things atm. How long ago did it all happen?

bourneville · 20/02/2006 19:45

Hi Lemmingswife, been wondering how you've been? I'm assuming you're not able to say too much here hence no post, or have I missed a new thread? I have kept on checking this one! Hope things are going ok.

Lemmingswife · 22/02/2006 20:56

Hi, bourneville. Thanks for thinking about me.
I haven't started a new thread, I am just keeping a bit of a low profile atm.
Have lots going on right now & my stress levels are high to say the least, but I don't feel I can say too much on here atm.
Hope you are okay.

OP posts:
bourneville · 22/02/2006 21:34

Good to hear from you, I'm fine.
Sorry, I started a new thread this evening asking if anyone had heard from you, don't know if you saw it...that's not keeping a low profile is it! Hope that's not a problem.

I hope you've got lots of support from people, i'd imagine mumsnet was quite a lifeline before.
Good luck.
xx

Lemmingswife · 22/02/2006 21:39

MN has been a real life line for me & has made me into a much stronger person. I really appreciate all the wonderful support & advice that has kept me going through all this.
I really wish I could post more about what is going on atm, but I am scared of certain people seeing things IYKWIM?
Didn't see your thread. Really sweet of you to think of me - I appreciate it.
