The Brave Babes Battle Bus - Carry On Past the Valentine's Wining and Dining

1000 replies

notevenamousie · 12/02/2011 06:38

Following on from jesuswhatnext and her original very successful thread and all the many others here , this is the Brave Babes Battle Bus, sharing struggles, thoughts, experience, strength and hope concerning life but more specifically our relationship with, and our journey through, cutting down or cutting out alcohol.

There is no judging or nastiness, just support for whatever works, and if we fall out of the bus we are always welcomed back on when we are ready with open arms and listening ears.

I'm notevenamousie and I'm an alcoholic. I abused and was dependent on alcohol for months if not even a couple of years. I feel a hundred times better physically, emotionally, spiritually, since giving in the fight with alcohol, admitting I had lost, and walking away, but it's very much one day at a time.

If you are a long time lurker, why not make this thread the one you jump in and say hello!

Have seen counsellors before - but all i really want to do is blurt it all out, yet when I try the counsellor stops and tells me i need to deal with seperate things with seperate counsellors.

Silver66 · 21/02/2011 19:47

baf - I think you have summed up how so many of us feel on here - WORTHLESS and stupid and incapable - but only within our own lives - outside of that we are professional, competent, confident, assured, strong women. Inside we are miserable and feel like failures................. not got any advice to give - just observing xxxxx

thursomuchtolookforwardto · 21/02/2011 20:32

Hey Silver Thanks for the hug, I need it!

JWN having a bit of a time with it, with DC1 at the moment, about the same age as your DD. I think. Sending you much love, and know that you are dealing with it in the best way for her. Never forget that you are a a complete star, and an inspiration, doesn't help in the dark hours I imagine, but true. So much harder when it's your children.

Silver I do think Gerald has been forgotten, so am going to go out with hot chocolate, and ginger biscuits, and ask if we can go to the Lake District tomorrow, somewhere calm and peaceful, where no-one asks your name...CheersGrin

Mouseface · 21/02/2011 20:52

Silver - Biscuit is 'no comment'

Wine is wine........ but I try not to use that too much Grin

zippy539 · 21/02/2011 20:59

Can I join the 'incapable of making a simple phone-call' brigade? I drive myself mad procrastinating over really simple domestic admin tasks - even when I could financially benefit from simply picking up the phone. It's bewildering. Confused

Sorry so many of you are having a shit time of it at the moment. There must be something in the water. :(

zippy539 · 21/02/2011 21:02

I have to say that tonsillitis is better than some of the hangovers I've had Grin

Sorry it's all about me. I am reading all posts but it feels too hard to respond at the mo [pathetic emoticon]

Hi to Truth and everyone else x

Silver66 · 21/02/2011 21:34

Silver66 · 21/02/2011 21:42

Shit if that sounded bad I apologise - but can any one explain the point of a no comment smiley??? isn't the whole point that we talk.......................discuss, etc. and please tell me why a 'biscuit' - erm - i eat them with a cup of tea......x

Rubyredlips · 21/02/2011 21:45

I thought it was a doughnut Confused

bafanatheSober · 21/02/2011 21:45

So why are we so incapable of making a simple phone call???

I am amazed - I thought that I was the only idiot that put these things off. I have also cost myself money, by just being scared of making a phone call. Weird!

But glad that I am not the only one that does it!

thursomuchtolookforwardto · 21/02/2011 21:46

Isindie you beaute, to pharaphrase my BIL, NZ stlyee, where is Langdale Pikes? Sounds like a story...

Mouseface · 21/02/2011 22:19

Some people think this Biscuit is a fanjo Grin

Silver - make it more clear what you mean!

'No comment' I think is you are so far off base, so out of order, so much of a nobber, I have no real words for. Grin

Silver66 · 21/02/2011 22:25
