At first I was afraid, I was petrified
Kept thinkin' I could never live without him by my side;
But then I spent so many nights
Thinkin' how you did me wrong
And I grew strong Smile

This thread is for ex dumplings Any dumpling that feels like she has "mostly" moved past crisis into an "almost" sorted state can post and chat here as we continue our quest for serenity with a lot of laughs along the way and support.

Ok feeling black belts are the way forward in my love life.
All about techniques and repetitions x

googoomama · 02/02/2011 12:34

Hi all. Urghhh! Trying to keep going...
LOL starting at googling iron bru! I forget how far north I am here...I used to love iron bru when I was little. Aye, it's made from girders! Could probably do with some now!
Men and their outlets. Pathetic little snivelling bastards. I thin kthe opposite to those two women someone overheard. The older I get the more I think I really don't need the fucking hassle...
Sorry - grumpy because of illness. I'm quite enjoying it though. The grumpiness. Not the illness.

Patienceobtainsallthings · 02/02/2011 12:57

Hope ur feeling better soon ggm x

startingovernow · 02/02/2011 15:00

Patience, think black belts are def the way forward Grin

Goo, sorry to hear you're still sick ((Hugs))

Well have managed to pull myself up a bit. Had a really bad night last night & got up at 3.30 to compose an email to Norm. Thank f*k I saw a bit of sense & just had a cig instead Grin. Was thinking in my misery last night that that's it I will remain single for the rest of my days as I couldn't be putting up with this emotional upheaval in my life anymore. Fell asleep at some ungodly hour with dreams of singledom. Woke this morn & thought f*k it, I will live to fight another day. So tis padded bra on, onwards & upwards again. I also have to say I got a text this morning from a fellow dumpling & it quickly reminded me of all the lovely things I have in my life Smile. Thank you my dumpling friend for lifting the spirits of a fellow dumpling

KateonMN · 02/02/2011 15:07

hello - been neglecting you all! I'm so sorry - will be back on track soon.

Had my intervew on Monday - 10 minute presentation (given 50mins to prepare) and a 50 min interview. So I am exhausted with dealing with that, the girls and working as well!

I got the job! So really pleased, think 2011 is looking like a positive year for me.

Seeing running man tonight - going for a drink and maybe a bite to eat in local pub. Bought some rather nice underwear...even though I couldn't afford it! Feeling very self consious about my scar and baby battered body...but he's such a gent and I know he won't rush anything.

Working from home tomorrow so will be able to catch up during the day while I'm on my break.

Kxx

offschoolagain · 02/02/2011 15:24

Kate well done! you must have done brilliantly. Not a great day here, we are ... offschoolagain. DD2, the disabled one, is ill so I had to take the day off work. DD1 and i are also under the weather (heavy cold and horrible cough) but I do not think I can take another day off to be with her so she will have to be home alone (she is 14 but still a bit mean of me, but no choice really.)Unless she is feeling better, I do hope so.
Love the "men and their outlets" - I used to bend over backwards to ensure he had free time so he did not feel trapped by our situation. This included, over the years: cycling holidays alone with his mates; trips to rugby matches, shooting; a week s holiday in scotland every year alone; countless countless training for marathons; new york marathon ...Then after it all I find out he has had an "outlet" nobody could have imagined. Oh god I nearly forgot, how could I: also a six or was it eight week trip driving from Plymouth to the Gambia on a charity fun drive ...
so in some ways, interestingly, he is more tied now to home or at least, has been in the last 6 months since he started being the Holiday Armadillo.
Pouring with rain, cold, miserable here. Hey ho.
Am I dwelling on the past too much for this thread? tell me if I need to get a grip.

gettingeasier · 02/02/2011 15:40

pinksmarties · 02/02/2011 18:20

Congrats on the job Kate. I love scars and am so curious about yours....is it from a c-section ?

Offschool, what's holiday armadillo ?

My H had all the freedom he wanted for his numerous effing holidays with his mates too but it was never enough. I bet the ow keeps him on a short rope though Grin

Hopefully his next 'outlet' will be up his stinky arse with a cathatter (sp) tube coming out of it........ (hoping the prostate probs start soon.)

Getting.....I don't know where you got the idea that I'm not bitter. I'm as bitter as 10 tons of horse raddish mixed with turps and I hope the fucking bastard I married gets what's coming to him cause I need karma NOW.

Calm down Pink.......Wink

pinksmarties · 02/02/2011 18:24

OMG guesse what I'm eating........

chocolate, pralines and caramel Hagen-Dazs ice cream. You can keep your bulk buy of rr's

this is all I need Grin

KateonMN · 02/02/2011 18:43

Hi Pink - no cancer - kidney out and radiotherapy damage from when I was little...ugh, I hate it - real hang up of mine.

Got a nice corsety type thing..which I will keep on if things get a bit saucy.

Trying not to think about it :(

pinksmarties · 02/02/2011 18:49

Oh I see. That must have been so traumatic for you and your parents. I can't imagine any bloke worth his salt being put off by that at all though.

offschoolagain · 02/02/2011 19:17

Getting, I can supply endless fascinating examples of male behaviour, any time...
Patience, thanks for new quote. am on tenterhooks waiting for second assessment mark from my tutor: had to be in Jan 21st so should be any day now; until then am having trouble getting started (!) on the next chapter.
Pink , Holiday Armadillo is what I think H thinks he is. It was Ross from Friends when he can't find a Santa Claus outfit for his little boy so dresses up in an Armadillo outfit and puts on a fake voice etc to entertain the child. Exactly as H does when he comes to stay with the girls. Does the homework! Buys pizza! Talks! All totally alien before the bombshell.Wow even bought DD2 a new fleece on Saturday, now that is a first.
Kate have a nice date, lucky you ...

pinksmarties · 02/02/2011 19:51

Oh I see, Offschool, you must be permenantly seething...?

DCSsunhill · 02/02/2011 20:38

Evening. Have been lurking...

Feeling a little low today. Filed my divorce petition at Court. I wasn't sure how I would feel about the moment, but I actually got cross that AGAIN I was doing all the work. I've been weepy all day.

Had a stupid incident at work also...I work in a small company with only ten men and one woman. I have a cup, a funny one...one of those with my name on it and then descriptions of the name, such as funny, gorgeous etc. Someone has been writing other things on the cup, all along the theme of "Fat" ...fat pig, fat ugly etc. Someone had written Fat Cow on it this morning.

I'm size 8, probably thinner since Ex H left so I can laugh at the comments. It's just the snideness of it all, as I thought I got on well with all of them. I'm the joker of the team and have a very self-deprecating sense of humour.

It's bullying and my boss has taken it seriously. Just happened at a bad time at I knew I had to go to court today.

I have my head in a glass of wine. Feel like crap. Have been drinking way too much wine this week, but hell...I need something to get me through.

googoomama · 02/02/2011 20:59

Been to bed this afternoon - just what I needed. Got a really big stinky old fashioned cold! It's knocked me out.
DCSun - just wanted to give you a massive hug. It's crap filing for divorce (I know that feeling well) and the wanker who is writing things on your cup needs an official warning and should feckin apologise to you. I felt really sad for you when I read that. Glad your boss is taking it seriously. What a horrible thing to do. I can't believe it. Whoever it is, you should be allowed to have a little blackboard by their desk all of next week and write "twat" on it with an arrow pointing downwards. Even better, you should be allowed to write "twat" backwards on their forehead, so they're reminded of their status every time they go to the loo.
Anyway - you don't need to pull yourself together love - you've had a shit day. Don't be hard on yourself. Lots of love sweetie xxx

DCSsunhill · 02/02/2011 21:03

Googoo, thanks . I love your TWAT idea.

startingovernow · 02/02/2011 21:19

Kate, really thrilled for you about the job Maybe try to see the scar as part of your identity i.e. the same as if you wore glasses. I don't think men take a blink tack of notice of these things anyway Smile. Oh happy days when I was buying lots of lingerie Hmm

Off, sorry to hear you're under pressure trying to juggle being there for dd & work. On the whole subject of outlets, I think we may have found a common theme here Hmm

Patience, does that quote mean "no pain, no gain"? You need to translate for us latin virgins Smile

Pink, I have just exploded with laughter at "I'm as bitter as 10 tons of horse raddish mixed with turps and I hope the fucking bastard I married gets what's coming to him cause I need karma NOW." & " You can keep your bulk buy of rr's". You have a wicked sense of humour & am so glad to see you back in fighting form Grin

DCS, that sounds really horrible & nasty. Glad to hear your boss is taking is seriously. The court thing is crap ((Hugs)) Look at it as being a step closer to reclaiming your life.

Goo, what are your doing about tomorrow night? Did you have to cancel in the end?

Patienceobtainsallthings · 02/02/2011 21:26

Sunnie,I was going to get some t shirts printed last year with FFS written on them .just to let people know what kind of day I was having ,glad ur boss backed u up ,I would have flipped it x

Patienceobtainsallthings · 02/02/2011 21:33

Starting I think it means
" no virtue without work "
It's been a while x

Patienceobtainsallthings · 02/02/2011 21:42

LOL I read that as bitter as horse radish and turnips ha ha ha ........
A sort of blackadder /baldrick quote Smile

googoomama · 02/02/2011 21:58

Hi everyone. Well, plucked up the courage (encouraged by my lovely dad) to phone deputy head and say I'm ill and can't come in. Noone ever does this because boss hates illness and accuses you of skiving when you're off. Anyway, I've done it, so i'll get a day in bed tomorrow which is what I think I need :)
Pink - horseradish lololol (followed by massive coughing and wheezing fit and spitting etc) love it
lol at Patience as always. I'm having a day off so that I can try and sort myself out for Saturday! In October and start of November I got a cold, carried on, it turned into flu, I had one day off and then I got an infection behind my tonsils and I had to take boys and live at my parents' for 2 weeks. I was really ill and doc said I could have permanently damaged my voice, so I'm really wary of overdoing it now in case the throat thing comes back. Also, I think when you value yourself a little bit more you start to look after yourself a bit and realise when things are too much. And they're a bit much at the moment here...

googoomama · 02/02/2011 21:59

And date is on Friday night...he's been very understanding about me being ill. He's very nice :)

Patienceobtainsallthings · 02/02/2011 22:05

That's it ggm ,I think looking after ourselves is an important lesson we all have to learn x
Hope ur dcs are on the mend !

Maybee · 02/02/2011 22:21

Hello everyone.
Congratulations on the job Kate
Googs You're funny when you're grumpy I ile your slant on men! Matches mine just now! I actually got called in to a meeting regarding my absenteeism form work today. Actually it was with a really sound SMT. Anyway I told her that I'd love to say from now on I will never take anymore time out but I can't help it with 3 kids and no family nearby. So I said that my plan was to move back to Ireland. She was v understanding but asked if x would get work. So I spilled, unlike me but I told my story. Turns out she is s dumpling too or was when she had young kids. She is older and has a partner now. Anyway she said she'd keep it quiet so I left office feeling a little lighter. I'm cringing a bit now though. And guess what? I am now dosed with the cold too! No fears about not meeting you lasses on Sat I mend quickly but I daren't take tomorrow off. I'm sipping a lemsip as i type. grrrrr.
Dcs What a nasty plonker at your work. you don't need that crap. I'm glad the boss is supportive and rightly so. i hope the court thing goes well.
Starting You do us proud with your feisty attitude.

I need to google some websites on talking to kids diplomatically about wot a silly unreliable, cheating, lying, git pa actually has turned out to be!
Waves to PinK, Patience, tea, off school and getting and anyone else out there.
