Hello and a Happy New Year!

I'm Mouse, one of the passengers on this wonderful journey to sobriety! Smile

We are a real mixed bunch of people, all trying to control or give up the booze - ONE DAY AT A TIME.

Come meet the others.........

And here are the previous threads, the journeys so far

AAAGGHHH. I am hungry.
All this talk... Had an apple about half an hour ago, hasn't touched the sides!

thursomuchtolookforwardto · 20/01/2011 13:09

Grin ma

thursomuchtolookforwardto · 20/01/2011 13:11

I've just done the sainsburys shop online, what with that, and all the food talk, am going to root around in the kitchen now {smile].
I'm working Hmm from home today, which is always a bad thing for my diet.

Spamspamspam · 20/01/2011 13:21

Hello all!

Well I got to day 18 and cracked BUT I am not particularly upset about it and have no intention of repeating until the end of January at least. Going to continue with my goal to have a alcohol free January and just treat last night as a blip. Had some good news yesterday plus was at a client meeting all day and client wanted to buy me dinner and have a few drinks so I did - 3 small glasses of wine over the evening, interspersed (sp?) with water. Feel a bit rough today but not overly annoyed with myself or feeling shame etc

With regards to diets, me and hubby are doing a carb free diet which is really easy once you are in "the zone" as it were. First couple of days are hard but once carb cravings are gone you just don't feel as hungry and definately don't eat anywhere near as much as when eating carbs. We are following the Neris and India Idiot Proof Diet which is apparently free in this month's cosmopolitan. There is also a recipe book you can get with it which definately improves your chances at sticking with it and makes it less boring Grin. The diet is also known as pig to twig and there are a few threads in weightloss section giving recipe and food ideas. Also if anyone is interested I can post a bit more on here about types of food to eat and basic principles. Hubby has lost a stone in 2 weeks and I have lost about 9lbs!!

Hope you all okay, been following but this thread moves so fast!

Afternoon Babes,

Just been really busy at work so not able to post until now.

MIFLAW great to have you back! How are the rest of the family?

desire thank you for asking after me Smile

Mouseface · 20/01/2011 14:00

Hey Spam Smile

The diet sounds like the Atkins? I did atkins before I got married. Lost about 3 stone in 6 months.

It was super hard work.

Well done on the weight loss and for not hating yourself over the booze.

KEPP GOING.

Hey Babes

Just checking in - stupidly busy day at work(I was going to type school then [Hmm).

BUT now off till next weds which means I can get to lots of daytime meetings - somehow it is so much harder to get home from work, cook tea etc and then go back out in the dark and cold to a meeting - I know it sounds like excuses but for me lunchtime meetings seem to prepare my head for the evening ahead sober.

Anyway - Mouse How are you feeling lovely? is it a cough? sorry not had time to read back.

Too knackered to type now so over to you guys xxxxx

Mouseface · 20/01/2011 19:21

Hey Silver

Yep, monster cold that has managed to last about 3 weeks. Grrr.

So far, I've had, snot, a cough, sore throat, earache, headaches, shivers, temp, aches and pains, sinus pain and nausea.

It's great. Hmm

Glad you are still going to meetings! Go you!

Hoping that all is well at home with your busy house too lovely xx

Mouseface · 20/01/2011 21:17

Hugs to you Ma

OP posts:
venusandmarzipan · 20/01/2011 21:29

Sleep well mouse (and little nemo)

ma isn't it amazing when a little bit of that alcoholic brain has changed. Like you, I can remember all too well the days when I struggled to get through 10 minutes without a drink. don't get me wrong, I still have my moments, but now that the habit is broken it is nothing like the same day-to-day battle.

jesuswhatnext · 20/01/2011 22:41

agghh, just lost really big post! Angry, never mind, had a crappy day, walked out of meeting due to some of the biggest, most unpleasant nazis ever! for some reason some of the men are really angry that that the women would like to set up a support group!, tough! Angry, i think is it a power thing, we are not going to be bullied though!

on the up side, i have lost a bit more weight and i honestly look better than i have done in years, i thought i had sort of 'peaked' at about the 6 month mark, but i really do look and feel even better than i did a couple of weeks ago - to mark the occasion Grin, i have bought the most fantastic boots, black ankle length, lovely clunky wooden heels and a big buckle, looks great with my biker jacket! Grin

anyway - im off to bed, night night lovley babes - mouse, sounds like you have the germs i did, wrap up, dose up and try and take it a bit easy (you have to or venus gives you right nagging! Grin)
