little boys are hyper-active and hygiene-phobic.
big boys, on the other hand, are MUCH more fun Grin
morning all...........

venusandmarzipan · 20/01/2011 09:07

Morning!

I have to admit that I was very glad that my 2 dcs were girls. I felt that I knew what to do with girls and understood their bodies better. I had a very amusing Hmm experience when my dds little friend (male aged 2 or 3) came to play and he needed the toilet. We went to the bathroom and he just stood there looking at me - and I was obviously supposed to 'do' something but I had no idea what. Did a little boy sit on the toilet? Did he stand on something and pee like a man? Did someone else 'hold it' for him so he could pee like a man standing up? I hadn't a clue. I tried to ask but he couldn't understand my questions. In the end I picked him up with my arms under his chest and knees and hovered him horizontally over the toilet. It worked OK, but he looked a bit bemused. I bet 100% that that was not how he did it at home!

venusandmarzipan · 20/01/2011 09:12

isinde with regards to your work schedule over the next week.... are you saying that you are deciding that you WILL drink during the next week when you are tired? There is not an ounce of criticism in my question, I am just wondering if you are making that decision now so that you don't feel like you've let yourself down if you do drink.

Do you think it is easier for you to have several days sober when things are not so intense? Is having wine a reward for a hard days work?

I'm only asking these questions so that when you're in a less intense phase of work activity you can ponder them further...

Take care lovely, and whatever, whatever, keep coming back and talking to us x

venusandmarzipan · 20/01/2011 09:13

ma agree with you on the big boys Wink Blush

desiretochange · 20/01/2011 09:32

Here I am on a diet and am after reading through menu suggestions and now I am STARVING Wink. Cheers Hmm

venusandmarzipan · 20/01/2011 09:38

Bowl of soup desire - best way to combat hunger (even at this time inj the morning), and low fat, and usually lots of veg and goodness.

I have big pot of carrot and parsnip. Chopped onion, celery, carrots, parsnip. Add stock, plus some ground corriander and a wee touch of orange juice. Blend. Mmmm

desiretochange · 20/01/2011 09:41

No chance of bowl of soup at min Venus, am at work, but I do have a lovely apple and fabulous fat free yoghurt to look forward to Hmm...

Anonymousbird · 20/01/2011 09:50

Morning ladies.

Thurso - we did a great budget supper the other night.

Rosti - grated potato and onion squeezed in a tea towel to get excess water out, then bound together with one beaten egg, lots of nice seasoning. Lightly fried in a pan - either one large one flattened down, or several smaller patties. Takes a few minutes each side to go brown and crunchy.

Done with two poached eggs and, as it happened for us, some bacon as I had some that needed to be used. And sliced tomato on the side.

It was a great supper for two, very quick to do, and as long as you don't drown the rosti in oil, not greasy etc... would go with anything, or even if you don't want meat, just rosti eggs and sliced tomato..... YUM it was. Even DH said, cor, this is nice - reckon we will do it a lot as our farmer friend gave us a sack of onions and a sack on potatoes at New Year!!!

Day 9 I think I am on. I am still rather in a place of total abstinence required, not sure I could "just have one" yet.... anyway, won't worry about that just now. Most important that I can survive the week without alcohol, I sleep better and feel so much better in the mornings.

Anonymousbird · 20/01/2011 09:52

LOL Venus at your little boy pee story!! We've had boys round (and my DS for that matter) who expect the adult to just "sort it out" for them. And of course, all boys do it slightly differently so I have covered all the options you mention over the years!!! Just damned lazy in the toilet department. I have to clean our loo most days and DS is 6.5 FFS!!

desiretochange · 20/01/2011 10:11

Can't flipping wait till dinner time now (have to wait till after 6), going to print out some of the suggestions on here and try some of them out (way I feel at min I will probably eat them all at the same time Grin)

jesuswhatnext · 20/01/2011 10:29

morning all! - i love the little boy weeing stories!, im 14 years older than my youngest brother, one day i got home from school, he was 2 and he insisted that he show me how he could wee in the drain in the garden 'like a big boy'! Grin, he is an armed policeman now, i love telling his mates that story! Grin - i also have about 100 little nephews under 10 - one day we were having a bbq and i noticed 2 of them heading indoors, not wanting burgers smeared on the furniture i followed them in, to find - one little boy sat on the loo with his brother holding his burger, they then swapped positions! hygiene plainly uppermost in thier minds! Grinnothing like brotherly kove eh? Grin

MIFLAW · 20/01/2011 10:37

thursomuchtolookforwardto · 20/01/2011 10:49

Good Morning MIFLAW

how lovely to "see" you.
I think it will take you a long time to catch up on the reading. We have missed you Smile. I think you will find yourself quoted many times over the last few weeks!

How are your family?

Zanywany · 20/01/2011 11:05

After reading about rostis with bacon I think I would eat the paper if I printed it out. I'm starving. Grin

Mouseface · 20/01/2011 11:05

desiretochange · 20/01/2011 12:04

No Red today ?

thursomuchtolookforwardto · 20/01/2011 12:39

Hello,

It has been very quiet on here this morning, how is everyone?

Thank you for all your recipes, they all sound yummy. The trouble is, I've made it hard for myself really. I've never bought, or rarely bought, ready meals, or prepared food, and so that's what the family have come to expect. No one ever even wants a take away Sad. Actually reading that makes me laugh, I have always been so careful of having fresh, healthy food, never mind the poison I poured down on a regular basis Blush
How are you hungry ones?, had your lunches yet?

desiretochange · 20/01/2011 12:49

Still hungry here Thurso despite having my apple and yoghurt Hmm, another 20 minutes before I get to eat Sad

Zanywany · 20/01/2011 12:52

I'm eating a hugh jacket potato with cheese and beans - yummy

desiretochange · 20/01/2011 12:53

dementedma · 20/01/2011 12:55
