Hello, welcome to thread number six!! Smile

I'm Mouse and, thanks to these threads, I quit the booze on August 2nd 2010.

This truly is a fantastic source of support for anyone who wants it! Full of real, honest, everyday people who are all at different stages of quitting the booze, cutting down or being long term sober.

There are no judgmental 'know-it-alls' here, whatever your circumstances, you will be supported all the way.

Come and meet the rest of The Brave Babes........

And, as before, here are the previous five threads for those who would like to see how this all began.

JWN's original thread (the reason we are all here)

Wasindie, we have a lot of churches and a handful of pubs, in fact I think it was a dry town until the 70's. Well... No pubs at least!

Lovely DD back from nursery. Took us 10 mins to get in the house as I had to sit in every seat in the car to listen to her sing baa baa purple sheep (and pink sheep, orange sheep..). She is now sprawled across my lap. Bliss.

Oh Wasindie I'd love to sort that for you. I was crap at BF so advice there but I remember being very upset at how hard I found it.

DD has a wand somewhere so I shall wave it towards Liverpool though and do my best for suckles and smiles.

DTs will bring lots of joy and you'll start getting the lovely parts too soon. How old are they now? I swear it gets easier after about week 9 or 10.

venusandmars · 31/08/2010 18:34

Oi Wasindie! I go out to do some work for a few hours and immediately get displaced by MIFLAW. Even a yoda can't sit here all day not earning Grin

Hi prime - you just keep on doing whatever is right for you, tell us whatevere you want to and post whenever it feels right. We all are tackling this in our own different ways. Just remember that if you ever need someone, shout for help.

Lucilastic · 31/08/2010 23:04

I have only ever been to one meeting in plumstead and it was cut short because someone threw a chair ...

Where was it? I live in Plumstead and I feel I will be needing to go to AA soon.

Not thrilled by the chair throwing incident but have two kids under 4.
I need somewhere local.

Am so tired of thinking about drinking. When I don't though I am so irritable and sad.

venusandmars · 31/08/2010 23:39

Hi Lucil, nice to see you around. Hope things are going OK. Sounds like you are in a good place to stop drinking. I does get tiresome doesn't it? Use whatever help you can get - here, AA. Anything. It really is worth it. you are worth it, go on give it a try, what have you got to lose?

MsGee · 01/09/2010 08:39

Morning, am I first up? Hope you are all well. All ok here apart from DD being very tantrummy last night and this morning. Grrr.

MissPerrier · 01/09/2010 08:52

Morning MsGee sorry your DD is a bit grumpy this am, must be all those sheep!! Grin
Luci I really know what you mean about thinking about drinking all the time. I am 6 weeks into this now, and I promise you it does stop. The catch is, the only way to stop the "looped" thinking is to stop drinking. It takes a few weeks. I used to be completely obsessed not only with my drinking but everybody elses too. Stick with it. xx

RedMoomin · 01/09/2010 08:55

Good morning everyone! I am feeling much better today. Thank goodness for that. I am counting today as my 'Day 1' because I feel like I can think clearly. (And 1st of September has a nice ring to it!)

Nice to see you prime and lucil. Hello to MsGee, venus, desire, wasindie, MIFLAW, mouse, JWN et al!

RedMoomin · 01/09/2010 10:05

RedMoomin · 01/09/2010 10:05

...busy HAVING a life. Doh!

MsGee · 01/09/2010 10:17

I am here ... determined to be super effective at work today. Smile

Enjoying the thought of a new month ... but not really busy having a life. How are you this morning Red? I like your new month, day 1 focus.

RedMoomin · 01/09/2010 10:21

I am OK today - better than yesterday! It's a really nice day here - lovely and sunny but it was quite crisp this morning. Autumn is definitely in the air!

MissPerrier · 01/09/2010 10:21

Anyone know how to wake teenagers up Angry

RedMoomin · 01/09/2010 10:24

Sorry no advice here! I remember clearly what it was like when I was a teenager - I would have slept for 24 hours if I could have! I had a Saturday job and sometimes I started at 2pm and it was a real struggle to get out of bed on time! Those were the days! I can't sleep in past 9am these days...

MissPerrier · 01/09/2010 10:30

Red, me niether... i'm probably - secretly - jealous Grin

desiretochange · 01/09/2010 10:30

Happy September 1st everyone:)

RedMoomin · 01/09/2010 10:33
