Hello, welcome to thread number six!! Smile

I'm Mouse and, thanks to these threads, I quit the booze on August 2nd 2010.

This truly is a fantastic source of support for anyone who wants it! Full of real, honest, everyday people who are all at different stages of quitting the booze, cutting down or being long term sober.

There are no judgmental 'know-it-alls' here, whatever your circumstances, you will be supported all the way.

Come and meet the rest of The Brave Babes........

And, as before, here are the previous five threads for those who would like to see how this all began.

JWN's original thread (the reason we are all here)

Thread two

Thread three

Thread four

Thread five

Very helpful and worth looking at, not only for drinking but smoking too.

Hello

RedMoomin · 24/08/2010 16:18

Hello silver, are you looking to sort out some booze issues? Welcome to the thread no matter what your reason/ need is!

Silver66 · 24/08/2010 16:48

Hi there x

Silver66 · 24/08/2010 16:54

Thanks Red - if I may call you that. I've been sober for 5 weeks now - apart from a few mess ups. I've just spent the last few hours reading this thread and I feel that I would like to be part of it. Sometimes there is no-one to talk to - they are either family, who know, or friends who don't know...........and one of my mess ups is happening right now x

RedMoomin · 24/08/2010 16:57

Of course you can call me red - I will call you silver if that's OK!

Is there anyway that you can put down the booze for today even if it means going to bed and then starting again tomorrow? We have all been exactly where you are now and we understand. Are you seriously pissed and therefore unlikely to stop today? Is there anyone else with you at the moment in RL?

RedMoomin · 24/08/2010 17:00

I am really, really sorry silver but I have to go now. I am generally just here until 5pm. However there are loads of us about - as I am sure you saw on the other threads - so more people will be along to chat soon. Hope to catch up with you tomorrow.

Just remember - you're not alone x

Mouseface · 24/08/2010 17:01

Hello silver

Welcome on board the Battle Bus!! Nice to have you here.

So, how can we help? Smile

Hi Silver, well done on 5 weeks sobriety:) You should talk to Mouse, she is great with advice and so is Miflaw but he appears to be just keeping an eye on us today:)

Silver66 · 24/08/2010 17:11

Not seriously pissed - just that old chance thing - my partner in France and my daughter gone to Southport with her uncle for the day and not back till tomorrow - the classic 'no-one will know' scenario. and i'm back at work tomorrow after 7 weeks off........

Mouseface · 24/08/2010 17:19

Silver

Are you drinking now or thinking about it?

OP posts:
desiretochange · 24/08/2010 17:19

What time do you start work at in the morning? You don't want to start back with a hangover do you?

desiretochange · 24/08/2010 17:26

Time for me to go home now but just want to wish everyone a good evening. Talk tomorrow:)

Mouseface · 24/08/2010 18:01

JWN

Dear God! A punch up?! How awful! I'm not surprised you feel that way! Idiots.

OP posts:
Silver66 · 24/08/2010 18:15

boredom and because i could. that simple - not unhappy, not worried about anything - just because I could get away with it....

Silver66 · 24/08/2010 18:26

God sorry - I don't mean to sound flippant - but that is the truth for me - x

Mouseface · 24/08/2010 18:49

Silver

So, are you still drinking? Is it going to be an all night affair for you tonight? Because there is no-one around to tell you how disappointed they are in you?

To question the reason why you have decided that tonight, after all you have achieved so far, 5 whole weeks of sobriety, you thought you should drink?

How will the morning look? Going to work hung over and feeling like deep fried dog shite for the first time in over a month.

You can stop drinking. You can stop right now.

Or, you can get to the end of the day and start again tomorrow. It's that simple. Stop or don't.

We'll still be here for you whatever you decide. That's how it works.

Smile
