Hello, welcome to thread number six!! Smile

I'm Mouse and, thanks to these threads, I quit the booze on August 2nd 2010.

This truly is a fantastic source of support for anyone who wants it! Full of real, honest, everyday people who are all at different stages of quitting the booze, cutting down or being long term sober.

There are no judgmental 'know-it-alls' here, whatever your circumstances, you will be supported all the way.

Come and meet the rest of The Brave Babes........

And, as before, here are the previous five threads for those who would like to see how this all began.

JWN's original thread (the reason we are all here)

Thread two

Thread three

Thread four

Thread five

Here's my contribution to the poetry section of our thread:) Remember all am still in Toddler group here so poem probably not up to the standard of others here, but what the heck, enjoyed writing it:)

Come one, come all
And join us here
Aboard the Battle Bus

And as you all can see
The sign above it
Clearly says
Next stop Sobriety

There?s tears and laughter
To be found
Aboard the Battle Bus

But one thing you can be sure of
No matter how you feel
That there is always someone to listen
And try to help you deal

With whatever life may throw you
As you travel through your day
There?s someone here aboard this bus
Will help you find your way

So come aboard everyone
And settle in your seat
And together we will battle
And together we will defeat

The dreaded curse of alcohol
That has gripped us one and all
And know that here fellow travellers
Will catch you when you fall

RedMoomin · 26/08/2010 16:44

Yep that's pretty much me for the day! I wish I could say it has been as useful as yours mouse but I would be lying!

See you all tomorrow babes, been lovely chatting!

Hi all,

Christi, lovely to see you, I was just thinking about you this afternoon. Glad to hear about your meeting next week, that's just the kind of thing you need to do. Well done. Where are you going for sushi? Have you tried No1. on Home Street? My dd took us there, and it was great. Did you enjoy Smoke and Mirrors?

Wow Mouse! you have got such a lot done, and you have put me to shame when I've just been pissing around writing little poems Blush. I have made dinner though - curry followed by fruit salad and home-made ice cream.

desiretochange · 26/08/2010 17:20

Aw but Venus you have allowed your creative juices to flow which can be exhausting:):):)

Wasindie - would be good, it certainly sounds like we are in the same playpen!

Everyone else - sounds like a lot of positive days. Hope you are all having pleasant evenings. I am indulging in Phil and Kirstie. And then perhaps a hot chocolate...

dah! wasindie!!, you know the drill!! pick yourself up, start again tomorrow!, not going to nag you now, i think i will wait until the morning when the hangover kicks in! stop drinking now, get some water in to you, you may be needed in the night!

we will be having a stern conversation in the morning my lady!!

soppy bugger!! Smile and hug!!

venusandmars · 26/08/2010 21:26

Wasindie. What you were posting today was true and wonderful, and how you were feeling this afternoon. Nothing hypocritical about it.

You are tired, you have a drink problem, and you made a choice. Maybe not the wisest choice and maybe one that you now regret. I am so glad that you have come on here and posted though. It does feel like we are a group of friends, and if you can't tell us what is going on, then who can you tell? You know we understand, and many of us are only only small sip away from where you are at the moment.

Can I ask about your dp? Does she not see it as a problem, or were you (like me) so bloody clever at hiding your drinking that she doesn;t really know the extent of your problem? perhaps at some point when things are a little calmer you might think about telling her. No point in her supporting you to drink as a reward if it is going to end up making you feel guilty or hypocritical or even worse.

Have you stopped drinking now? Big glass of water, off to bed until the next feed time, and we'll see you tomorrow x

Wasindie

Water. Teeth, twice and bed. Now please. Go snuggle with DP while you have the chance before the girls wake again.

See you in the morning all. xx
