Thank goodness!
We have had loads of problems connecting back up to the internet & H was having a few little tantrums about it this morning, but I am now back!
He was not as cross as he could have been regarding the wine, because I think I have got rid of most of the stain. I am now banned from drinking red wine in the lounge!

LOL Tess! You are easily pleased!
Sorry I took my time responding to your last Q this morning, but H was around & decided to play his flight game!
How has your bank holiday been?

Tessiebear · 29/08/2005 20:09

I was joking btw!!!!
I thought that is what had happened this morning.
Had quite a good bank holiday actually. Havnt done much - DS3 has been an absolute sweetheart
Boys have been out with DH and my mum (to the Timeball tower and the beach). I have stayed at home except for a walk to the park.
How has your been???

Tessiebear · 29/08/2005 20:12

Just read about your parents BBQ on another thread - how did they annoy you???

stressedmummy · 29/08/2005 20:13

Been round my parents for a BBQ & they managed to wind me up, so not great!
H has gone to work so I have the night to myself.
I still have to phone the carpet cleaners tomorrow, even though you can barely spot the mark.

Cross posts!
They really wound me up by poking their nose's in & feeling they had the right to comment on me dealing with ds1 when he was naughty round there.
I only asked him to sit on the step FGS!

Have you tried Vanish Carpet Mousse???? I have got some and could pop it in on my way out in the morning if you want

Tessiebear · 29/08/2005 20:17

If i ever try to discipline DS's round my mums she sides with them and is really soft on them

stressedmummy · 29/08/2005 20:19

No I haven't tried it, I used salt & the Mr muscle blue stuff.
If you could pop me some round it would be great thanks.
I bet you won't be able to even spot the chuffin stain!

OP posts:
Tessiebear · 29/08/2005 20:21

Logging off now to put DS's to bed - will pop it round at about 11am on my way to Rosalins
Night Night - have a nice peaceful evening

stressedmummy · 29/08/2005 20:23

Thanks Tess.
Night!

Sorry I missed you TB!
I was in until 11.20am, but had to take ds2 for his 2yr check at 11.30am.

I hid the Vanish spray behind my back and made up another reason for wanting to see you
Hence - i still hsve the spray ---- talk later!!!
I am out and about tommorow - if it would help - did you get the cleaners in???

stressedmummy · 30/08/2005 16:58

I know Tess!
H told me you had something behind your back!

OP posts:
stressedmummy · 30/08/2005 17:23

i haven't done anything about the carpet yet, as I told him that you had a mousse which may do the job. (told him I had mentioned to you on the phone that I had spilt wine & not on MN!)
I personally cannot notice the mark AT ALL, but H says he can.
He said that if the mousse doesn't work then he will get a quote from a carpet cleaner & then I can pay the bill, as maybe then I would think more carefully about things!
He say's I have spoilt the other carpet in 2 ways, because where I was scrubbing it I have pulled up some of the wool.
I am very clumsy & it is going to be impossible for me to avoid future spills!

I agree with you there dinosaur!
I am going to end up broke if I have to pay out for carpet cleaners everytime there is a spill of some kind, especially with beige wool carpet throughout! (chosen by H)

Stressedmummy, I think the key here is to make the stain not noticeable. Here is my recipe.

Get a wine box of red wine (Sainsburys has a nice one on special offer). Remove the bag of wine from the box it comes in, make a hole in the top and then squirt wine all over the carpet. (You might want to cover the furniture, but on the other hand, at least then it would all match and be impervious to future red wine stains).

Et voila, stain is no longer noticeable.

stressedmummy · 30/08/2005 17:30

He chose the carpets because they go well with his furniture, but wasn't thinking about how practical they would be with 2 young children & a clumsy wife!

I have told him that I will never be tidy enough for him & I know something else will get dropped in no time.
He is quite selfish I guess. Everything H has has to look perfect, from his car to his house.
He has binned all our blue towels because we now have a beige bathroom & they will not match!
