Spoilers thread for The Archers. All Archers listeners are welcome here, whether you post on our main Archers thread or not. There's just one rule: please keep all spoiler-related discussion in this thread and do not spill the beans on the main Archers thread.

We usually add the BBC teasers and cast lists for forthcoming episodes as they become available, plus the Radio Times and other previews when possible. Feel free to add anything else you come across, e.g. cast news, scriptwriter tweets!

Don’t Elizabeth and Shula inherit Carol’s cottage when Jill pops her clogs?

Where is Freddie supposed to be these days, BTW?

I’ve not been keeping a record of cast lists this year, but a lot of the cast have been AWOL for weeks and weeks.

Gonners · 04/07/2026 21:50

I suspect Freddie has fallen into the mincer. Shame, really, as I quite liked him.

Well, yes, because it is not Carol's cottage really: she rents it. It belongs to Jill, and her and Phil's wills left it to be shared between Shula and Elizabeth to make up for them not getting any of Brookfield.

Earlier this year the editorial team noticed we remembered this and some scriptie was tasked with putting the in-passing "since we bought Glebe Cottage" into the mouth of either David or Ruth, I forget which, but that never happened; something so momentous would have been commented on, if only by Elizabeth furious at being deprived of her only inheritance from her parents.

JudyCoolibar · 05/07/2026 12:07

I do hope Bert isn't coming back to Tracy's. He's really tedious, and she deserves a rest.

FatRosie · 05/07/2026 18:14

...since we bought Glebe Cottage" into the mouth of either David or Ruth,
It was Ruth.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 05/07/2026 19:00

Thanks. One or other, it was a rewriting of history; not quite as dire as the invention of a backstory for Neil that was at odds with what had been broadcast when he was first in Ambridge, but pretty poor.

FatRosie · 05/07/2026 19:07

It was an insult to regular listeners.

Had the Dopeys bought Glebe Cottage, we'd have heard about it. They'd have bought it from Jill, and Elizabeth would have been very vocal about it.

I’m beginning to wonder whether Shula and Elizabeth are buried under the hitherto unmentioned carpark extension that they needed for their hospitality barn.

Elizabeth is in the cast list for the week beginning two weeks today.

Ambridge Diary for next week:

It's all baby talk this week. Undercover Harrison returns to hear the distressing news that George is due to be a father. Fallon just wants to move on, but "Dirty Harry" Harrison can't let go of the past. Except for that bit where George saved Fallon's life. Another blundering male, Tom, is put in a tailspin when he learns that Kirsty is pregnant. Confused by his feelings, he puts his foot in it when he tries to talk to her. Meanwhile the Aldridges are surprised by Brian's latest move.
David Crawford

FatRosie · 08/07/2026 09:56

@Madcats , thanks. I bet we're all looking forward to hearing that. Hmm
Can't the actor get a long term demanding role in Emmerdale or something?

Tom will no doubt handle things clumsily.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 08/07/2026 11:47

"Except for that bit where George saved Fallon's life."

Having first caused it to be endangered in the first place; maybe Harrison can't let go of that either?

FatRosie · 08/07/2026 11:54

Not to mention that Fallon's pregnancy was probably not detected, and the unprofessional doctor would not have blurted it out in the way he did, and the embryo would have not survived because of her IUD, and if it had Fallon might have opted for a termination. And all so we could listen to 'Arrison droning on about the behbeh.

Fallon is past the age of 40 so will probably be pregnant within 24 hours of Harrison getting home.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 08/07/2026 12:25

Yeah. Sigh.

FatRosie · 08/07/2026 13:14

No doubt she'll have enjoyed Marthyr's presence so much it will have made her broody. She'll be upduffed then 'Arrison will say it's Chris's or somesuch drama.

Sorry to not have my usual pollyannaish demeanour but I am a tad disillusioned with The Archers of late.

Even the main thread seems to have ground to a halt.

TottersBlankly · 08/07/2026 16:19

Oh - I’m quite looking forward to hearing Tom on the subject of Kirsty’s pregnancy.

Harrison, not so much.

Thanks @Madcats!

FatRosie · 08/07/2026 17:19

I suspect that the Natasha's credit cards SL is yet to come, and Tom will blurt out something suggesting that he has some regret over treating Kirsty so badly.

Gonners · 08/07/2026 21:48

Even the main thread seems to have ground to a halt.

I listened live to this evening's filler episode but have no recollection of what happened, to whom, or why. They should probably have nuked it on its 75th anniversary.

FatRosie · 08/07/2026 22:05

Tonight had Amber nearly fainting, Chris turn into an Oompa Loompa, Amber telling her father they weren't accepting the cot and being annoyed with Bill & George because George drove on the showground. An improvement on the last few episodes but no farming and no Archers.

Gonners · 08/07/2026 22:15

No Archers is surely a bonus?

FatRosie · 08/07/2026 22:44

I like the Bridge Farm scenes.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 09/07/2026 05:50

Another preview. Can only make sense of the bit about Rex if Kirsty hasn't told him she's pregnant. Odd, but at the moment I think only Helen, Kate and Jakob know in Ambridge.

Total TV Guide 11th to 17th July
Having recently been bludgeoned to death with a scaffolding pole by Sarah Platt as Corrie’s sinister Theo Silverton, being back on the beat as Ambridge’s dependable bobby could well be a relief for actor James Cartwright, as he returns to the day job playing Harrison. Fallon is delighted to see her husband, but the celebrations are cut short when he learns that George is to be a dad. Tom is also rocked by baby news when he finds out his ex is pregnant…
Meanwhile, Rex is concerned that Kirsty is overdoing it. Could it be that the hospitality whizz finds herself in ‘an interesting condition’? And a shocking allegation with far-reaching consequences is made against one of the villagers.

Thanks @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g

Could it be that the hospitality whizz finds herself in ‘an interesting condition’? Fallon upduffed?

And a shocking allegation with far-reaching consequences is made against one of the villagers. .
"17.7 Lynda faces a shocking accusation"

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 09/07/2026 14:20

Couldn't someone in Ambridge bludgeon Harrison to death with a scaffolding pole? Or accidentally drop one on him and fatally impale him or something?

Gonners · 09/07/2026 15:48

Could it be that the hospitality whizz finds herself in ‘an interesting condition’?

That sounds as though whoever wrote it was confusing Fallon with Kirsty, because if Harrison isn't back until 13th July then Fallon's hardly likely to know she's upduffed the same week!
