Spoilers thread for The Archers. All Archers listeners are welcome here, whether you post on our main Archers thread or not. There's just one rule: please keep all spoiler-related discussion in this thread and do not spill the beans on the main Archers thread.

We usually add the BBC teasers and cast lists for forthcoming episodes as they become available, plus the Radio Times and other previews when possible. Feel free to add anything else you come across, e.g. cast news, scriptwriter tweets!

I get that Adam might not want to incriminate Ruairi - but the SWs are somewhat hampered by Arthur Hughes probably not having been available when recent weeks’ episodes were being recorded.

He’s busy!

https://www.imdb.com/name/nm5168709/

Goodness, I never imagined Ruairi being so, um, follicularly challenged. In my head he has lots of floppy hair à la young Hugh Grant.

FatRosie · 27/06/2026 10:12

@JudyCoolibar , He has hair. It's mean to use 'follicularly challenged'. Being follically challenged is unlikely to be by choice. I'm from a part of the country where male-pattern baldness is one of the highest so he seems to be doing ok for a man in his 30s.

There's nothing to stop you from having 'your' Ruairi looking like a young Hugh Grant.
My Chelsea and Tracy Horrobin have brown hair. My Lilian doesn't look like Sunny Ormonde. My Helen doesn't look exactly like Louiza Patikaz. The rest of them probably look like the cast, apart from Fat Rosie who looks like a rotund Verruca Salt.
Some of the cast probably look a lot older than 'my' characters, apart from Carol Vordegorran and Bert Carvelobin.

Follically challenged TA characters:
Ian, Ed, Clive, Brian (thinning on top), Bert. Tony has a bit of a combover.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 27/06/2026 12:00

Johnny is no longer in the programme, but he was going bald in his very early twenties.

FatRosie · 27/06/2026 12:34

Oh yes! He was! Has he actually left or just sort of sailed off into the sunset?

Dan, Meriel, Kate's children and grandchild are likely to return at some point. Maybe there were no SL plans for Johnny for a few years. Adam and Kenton were missing for years.

They introduce new characters but where are the SLs about the Archers themselves? Why are Freddy, Lily, Josh and Ben so invisible to the opposite sex? Surely a young man with a stately home must have some kind of appeal.

Incoming.

Total TV Guide 27th June - 3rd July
Few young couples get to escape the scourge of the in-laws, and George is left blindsided when Amber’s dad, Bill, offers a generous present. But is it all it seems? It’s been a rocky time for the parents-to-be, who attempt to sort things with a heart-to-heart.

Kirsty is all too used to dealing with Kate’s whackier schemes, but even her patience is tested when Kate, driven to distraction by Brian’s behaviour, comes up with a new wheeze for Spiritual Home’s future.

Meanwhile, David comes unstuck when Chris spots an issue with the Borchester Show, and Chris himself is frustrated when a pleasant afternoon out is interrupted by other villagers. Plus Martyn Gibson charges Ed with a shocking task.

TV Times 27th June - 3rd July
It’s an emotional rollercoaster for George and Amber this week, with Amber’s parents causing the pair to feel under pressure. At Home Farm, a stressed-out Kate attempts to distract herself, potentially upsetting Kirsty in the process. Meanwhile, over at Bridge Farm, Susan has a momentous idea…

Elsewhere, Ed is put in a tricky situation when Martyn gives him a shocking task…

Thanks, @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g .
Elsewhere, Ed is put in a tricky situation when Martyn gives him a shocking task… Erecting an electric fence around Home Farm land to keep Adam out?

Main thread's a bit heated today.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 27/06/2026 17:09

Yes, as if we didn't have enough heat!

A poster on Mustardland is wondering if Lynda's about to be told that Monty savaged the sheep. I hope not.

Gonners · 27/06/2026 17:30

I wonder if Bill is going to offer to buy them a house for a wedding present ... in Amber's sole name, obviously, right next door to where he and Anne-Marie (is that her name?) live. and perhaps on condition that they don't marry.

FatRosie · 27/06/2026 17:35

No not Monty! I think Cleo.
Good suggestion, Gonners. It is Anne-Marie. Amber and George will be a DV SL I think. He's not changed and when the baby turns up he'll show his true colours.
I quite like the thought of more Matthew Gravelle. More Natasha too. I love her character.

That would definitely be a re-run of a plot. Mrs A was the previous and greatly superior Lynda-figure, after all.

FatRosie · 27/06/2026 18:04

No. I loved Mrs Antrobus. I am fond of Lynda and probably love her really but she's not Marjorie Antrobus.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 27/06/2026 18:22

There we are in complete agreement. Mrs A was a treasure; Lynda is in general an irritant.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 01/07/2026 20:59

Courtesy of Mustardland, here's next week's Radio Times.

Radio Times 4th - 10th July
In all its venality, emotional blackmail and bitchiness, the Aldridge family feud is starting to feel like The Real Farmhouse Wives of Ambridge. This week, Brian is called out for hypocrisy, Adam is on the brink of giving up and Ian plays a shocking trump card. Like every other week, then. Will there be a special Archers cameo at the Borsetshire Show ? We’re promised a surprising and high-ranking special guest, but their identity is under wraps. Place your bets now. Meanwhile, debates about supporting Bert see him pulled in two directions.

Thanks Gasp.

FatRosie · 02/07/2026 12:50

Who might be a high-ranking guest. I'd be pleased if it was Anne or Sophie but I've got it into my head that it will be Bald Clareing.
Not sure why I think it's a she.

It probably won't be Harry Kane.

Treetreetreetree · 02/07/2026 13:01

I'm thinking Oprah

FatRosie · 02/07/2026 13:22

Oh no, she'd upset the pearl-clutching right-wing press reading listeners after the interview with that woman, the one who's an evil witch compared to St Catherine. You know the one, she's married to the entitled still-titled one.
I think we can rule out Fergus Sarahson too.

Minette Batters?

Hugh Fearlessly-Eatsitall is at Groundswell.

Who'd open a county show?

The Archbishop of Canterbury?

FatRosie · 02/07/2026 15:35

AoC probably too WASP LGBT+-unfriendly.
75th anniversary year....Hmmm?

funny you should mention Harry Kane. I was delighted to see a headline with "Harry" in it a couple of days ago which when I looked at the picture under it was about him and not the Sussex bore.

FatRosie · 02/07/2026 16:27

Not bothered about football, can't see them beating Mexico but at least it's not Andy-bloody- Burnham or the spare part formerly known as Prince. I'd love to see one of the home nations winning.
Go England! Well done Harry Kane!

For Harry, England and St George!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 02/07/2026 22:06

New teasers from the BBC website. I really hope Fallon isn't going to have another unplanned pregnancy. Or is she going to find out something about Harrison's time away? Perhaps she's going to find Kenton's body in the cellar and everyone will finally realise they've neither seen nor heard him for months and months.

19/7 Opportunity knocks for Fallon, and Rex takes a step in the right direction.
20/7 Chris has reservations about a loved one, and emotions run high for Carol.
21/7 Fallon has something on her mind, and Jolene makes a generous offer.
22/7 Emotions run high for Tracy, and Alan makes a breakthrough.
23/7 Bert causes concern, and Elizabeth makes a surprising offer.
24/7 Fallon is rocked by an unexpected discovery, and Susan makes a decision.

Intriguing …

Either

Elizabeth invites Carol to move into a spare flat at Lower Loxley. (I don’t know why, but 🤷‍♀️)

Or

Elizabeth invites Chelsea to set up camp in the vicinity of the grand Lower Loxley wedding venue for the rest of the summer.

I can’t see what she would be offering anyone else in that week’s cast list. And there’s no Freddie …

TottersBlankly · 03/07/2026 00:02

Thanks @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g!

FatRosie · 03/07/2026 00:10

Thanks, @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g . Maybe Elizabeth offers to provide a cottage for Bert and Carol to use as a love nest.
