Spoilers thread for The Archers. Please keep all spoiler-related discussion in this thread and do not spill the beans on the main Archers Thread. Last spoilers thread here: www.mumsnet.com/talk/radio_addicts/4197199--The-Archers-spoilers-thread-7-Cant-wait-for-7-02pm-Join-us-here

Current main Archers thread here: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/radio_addicts/4887688-archers-thread-153-total-absolute-rubbish-but-we-keep-on-listening-hoping-for-better-things-its-the-hope-that-kills-you-discuss-the-archers-here?latest=1 The main thread tends to last a few weeks. The spoiler thread runs for around a year, but I strongly suspect it gets read about as much as the main thread.

Or perhaps the long-awaited sinkhole will open up? <Pollyanna mode: ON>

Eddie Grundy, a man who has handled livestock all his life failed to realise that the alarmingly large new male pet is heavily pregnant. Oh how we will laugh.

TottersBlanklyIntoBimboCore · 12/10/2023 14:08

Yup. That ‘Farm life; I wouldn’t have it any other way!’ from Eddie surely sets the seal on a Grundy eviction in about five minutes time …

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 12/10/2023 14:55

We live in hope.

Gonners · 12/10/2023 18:06

Can they be evicted right out of the programme, please? I am thoroughly bored with they Grundys and their shenanigans.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 12/10/2023 18:31

They would only turn some other family into the Groundling Humour area.

Gonners · 12/10/2023 20:31

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 12/10/2023 18:31

Arf! I'd quite like that family to be the Bridge Farm lot.

BoreOfWhabylon · 12/10/2023 20:42

Ollie's going to sell the farm to buy back GG isn't he?

Gonners · 12/10/2023 20:53

I do hope so. With his allotment experience, perhaps Adil could buy it? 😂

TottersBlanklyIntoBimboCore · 13/10/2023 08:15

So I’m assuming Alan’s shocking discovery will be Rob - either deceased or collapsed and eventually transported to a hospice, perhaps. If deceased then presumably we’d get his recorded voice or a video at the end of the month. Otherwise he lingers and someone - Alan, Helen, Pat - visits him before his death.

However - I’m not sure Alan has ever come into contact with Adil, has he? At least in any significant broadcast way. Perhaps the former discovers the latter slumped over the car wheel after an accident brought about by stress and exhaustion?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 13/10/2023 12:21

George overrun - surely with baby guinea pigs?

OP posts:
WhoppingBigBackside · 13/10/2023 12:30

Oh, I doubt it @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g . Rico the neutered male guinea pig from Ronnie the Rodent had merely eaten a few extra pies. The fact that Rico looked like a snake that had swollen a sheep was sheer coincidence.

Bet the SWs are picturing us polishing our nails when we find out that we predicted this. Even if we'd not read the spoilers it is so obvious.

The GG SL is weird and I can't see where it's going unless Oliver buys back his share. I don't think we've seen the last of Adil. Why would his sister have turned up? Why did she make a point of saying she was much older than him? Why did she call him prince, unless it's just a way of saying darling or sweetheart?
Why is he single-handedly project managing the refurb? Is he an employee managing it for relatives/himself? Why did he take on an allotment if not planning on staying in the village for years? Might he be related to the Gills of Home Farm? His late wife might have been of british scottish/punjabi heritage.
Would Adil have had some large life assurance payout on his wife's death?

Maybe I got it all wrong and George being overrun is when all the Ambridge young ladies (bonnets optional) come knocking on his door when they realised that he's a changed person. [no flying pig emoticon afaik]

WitcheryDivine · 13/10/2023 14:25

I agree about his sister. Prince is something I didn't notice but that does suggest the wider family context of him being the heir to a business.

I'd welcome a great "big business" family coming to Ambridge. Maybe he had to mess it up to bring mum/dad/granny down upon GG.

WhoppingBigBackside · 13/10/2023 14:27

She didn't say "prince", she said a word meaning prince.

Where's Hazel Wooley in the mix?

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 13/10/2023 14:34

Hazel Wooley couldn't possibly afford to have bought Grey Gables, or even sixty percent of Grey Gables, so I don't think she's likely to be in the mix at all. Why would she bother if she can't be the boss – which if she were one of a consortium, she wouldn't be.

WhoppingBigBackside · 13/10/2023 14:49

No, but why did she come back?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 13/10/2023 15:16

Just going to slip these in here, for the impatient and nosy, i.e. people like me. This is as far ahead as the BBC teasers go. Looks like the Grey Gables re-launch is going to go tits up. No, but why did she come back?

To throw Tom and Natasha out of the flat over the shop and to cause a bit of melodrama.

TherapistInATabard · 13/10/2023 16:21

Interesting to see the Titchenors there but only Tony of the Bridge Farm Archers. And no mention of any of them in the teasers!

TherapistInATabard · 13/10/2023 16:22

I hope Alistair’s Halloween revelation is that Denise is single and ready to mingle!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 13/10/2023 17:15

That's certainly what I'm hoping!

OP posts:
Gonners · 13/10/2023 17:29

I'd like that too. Plus it would give a reason for Shula not to return, having exploded in a fit of "How very DARE he?"

RegimentalSturgeon · 13/10/2023 23:20

Shula … having exploded in a fit of "How very DARE he?"

Wouldn’t she just? Bwahahaha.
