Spoilers thread for The Archers. Please keep all spoiler-related discussion in this thread and do not spill the beans on the main Archers Thread. Last spoilers thread here: www.mumsnet.com/talk/radio_addicts/4197199--The-Archers-spoilers-thread-7-Cant-wait-for-7-02pm-Join-us-here

Current main Archers thread here: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/radio_addicts/4887688-archers-thread-153-total-absolute-rubbish-but-we-keep-on-listening-hoping-for-better-things-its-the-hope-that-kills-you-discuss-the-archers-here?latest=1 The main thread tends to last a few weeks. The spoiler thread runs for around a year, but I strongly suspect it gets read about as much as the main thread.

I was wondering if Rob might be asking to be baptised (or even buried?) at St Stephen’s? A baptism would be a hard one for a vicar to turn down. But intercession could be right.

interesting we have Miles and Rob but no Helen etc.

do you think someone will finally solve the mystery of GG ownership this week?

I was right!

TottersBlanklyIntoBimboCore · 02/10/2023 06:59

Looks like the Grundys are out! (Have been reading ahead …)

Presumably Oliver will come to the logical conclusion that Eddie and Clarrie really don’t need, and can’t afford, to live in the manner to which they have become accustomed. And he probably wants his house back - either to live in or to sell.

Excitin’ …

All the previous stuff about Adil and GG suggests that it's all gone to hell in a handcart there. Maybe there's no money to finish the job and actually open the place.

TottersBlanklyIntoBimboCore · 02/10/2023 08:07

Yes … I wondered if he wants to attempt to buy back the share he sold?

TottersBlanklyIntoBimboCore · 02/10/2023 08:08

Yes, you were, @WitcheryDivine! 🏆

Because it's what Caroline would have wanted? 🙄

WhoppingBigBackside · 02/10/2023 12:23

If the Grundys lose their home, where will Eddie and Clarrie go, and where will Little Grange go?

TottersBlanklyIntoBimboCore · 02/10/2023 12:48

Well, as we’ve seen, there’s a lot of movement or potential movement going on in the village:

Peggy won’t live forever - at which point Kate might move in with Jakob, leaving the Lodge free. (Not saying the Grundys would go there, but whoever does might leave somewhere else in the village empty.)

Is Carol still theoretically renting Glebe Cottage from Jill?

The other half of Roy’s house, which Brian has just moved out of, is presumably rented out by its owners, so could become available on a SW’s whim.

If Pip and Stella form a household that would leave either Rickyard or the Bungalow vacant.

Any current resident could suddenly decide to move for plot or actor’s real life reasons. Any large / wealthy employer could suddenly decide to offer accommodation to its workers.

In addition, the SWs are always finding long forgotten cubbyholes on land or water for people to move into. Limitless options for every generation of Grundy!

Chaos reigns at Grey Gables as it becomes clear to Oliver that details are being missed and plans are not progressing. Lynda believes Adil is overdoing it but her helpful suggestion could cause trouble.
There's tension at the vicarage as Alan struggles with his conscience and he and Usha remain on different pages.
Plans for the Grundys' Halloween walk look shaky, George gets irritated at No 1 The Green, Susan celebrates her big birthday, relations improve for Helen and Emma is inspired.

The DM is just bits of the One-Liners, isn't it.

I do hope George being overrun means that Hannah has left a blackbeetle-farm under the floor in the kitchen!

Oh, and Rob isn't in the cast-lists till the end of this month, not that this means he won't appear since they now leave people out if they want Suspense. His absence won't stop Usha from attacking Alan for the foreseeable future on the grounds that Alan did his job by the book (and by the Book, I suppose) and didn't play the hellfire vicar from 1634 instead of the twenty-first century model which is not supposed to condemn people.... She seems to dislike him so much for being a vicar and doing his job that I can't help wondering why she has stayed with him.

WhoppingBigBackside · 07/10/2023 13:56

Thanks Asking
Does Pat know that Helen went to the hospital with Rob?
Maybe No 1, The Green has bedbugs.
Maybe GG has a hole in the roof.
Keri Davies this week. - does that mean it'll be a good 'un?

ZadocPDederick · 07/10/2023 14:17

Interesting if Rob is reappearing in the cast lists. at the end of the month. Could that be his final farewell? I could see him trying to use the cover of trick-or-treating him for an abduction attempt.

It's a bit frustrating that the terms of the injunction against Rob seem to be so elastic. I would have thought it would preclude him coming into Ambridge, but who knows.

WhoppingBigBackside · 10/10/2023 13:28

It's not been a good week so far.
Will Pat be out with her gun? Susan Carter is 60! Happy birthday, Susan.

WhoppingBigBackside · 10/10/2023 19:55

I may have spoken too soon. Smile
BOOP for Neil.

Gonners · 10/10/2023 20:15

Previously-Welsh-Pat has morphed into Previously-Sensible-Pat.

WhoppingBigBackside · 10/10/2023 20:21

What about the court order thingy?

Gonners · 10/10/2023 20:25

WhoppingBigBackside · 10/10/2023 20:21

What about the court order thingy?

I assume that only applies to Helen and Giddy-Jack?

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 10/10/2023 20:30

I think she got Henry added to it.

WhoppingBigBackside · 10/10/2023 20:30

Wouldn't it restrict Rob from moving to within N miles from Helen & Jack? Sorry, can't face the main thread.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 10/10/2023 20:33

I think a non-mol just applies to not approaching the individuals named in it, doesn't restrict anyone's movements in general. So he can be in Ambridge so long as he doesn't approach Helen, Jack or (possibly) Henry. He also can't approach any of those three in say Felpersham, or London.

WhoppingBigBackside · 10/10/2023 20:45

Thanks @AskingQuestionsAllTheTime .

ZadocPDederick · 11/10/2023 17:26

Two shocking discoveries coming up in the one liners over the next couple of weeks. Is it too much to hope for that at least one of them is Rob's dead body?
