Radio Times Ambridge Diary 29th October – 3rd November 2023
The storyline of arch manipulator Rob Titchener asking to be baptised produces an unholy row this week, when his family descends on the area for the ceremony. With the Archers and Titcheners at battle lines, Alan struggles to keep the peace.
Brian has some difficult news to impart to a relative, but his approach may not be the best way.
Paul is almost at the end of his tether with tension at the Stables, there’s a misunderstanding between Pip, Ruth and Stella - and a Halloween party causes ructions.
Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update 29th October – 3rd November 2023
Halloween hits Ambridge and the spooky Grundy event is not the only horror show in town:there’s also Rob Titchener’s baptism

I don't entirely understand this: why would the Archers know or care about Rob Titchener being baptised by a vicar not their own, in a church not in their village, when he is living in another different village?
On 11th October Alan handed Rob over to the Reverend Berry, vicar of the church in Downham. That he was at a meeting to do that was the reason he refused Pat's invitation to dinner that evening, while Usha lyingly claimed he'd be writing sermons because it was Wednesday. We also heard, on 10th October, "But he is going to baptise him, says Pat accusingly. No, explains Alan, he isn't: Rob asked him to but he refused to. A colleague of his will be performing the service."
It is even stranger that the Archers and Titcheners are said to be at battle lines (a peculiar phrase), given that while all the Titcheners are in the cast, the Archers are Josh, Pip, Ruth and Tony, of whom only Tony might feel called on to attack anyone abut Rob's baptism.
