Spoilers thread for The Archers. Please keep all spoiler-related discussion in this thread and do not spill the beans on the main Archers Thread. Last spoilers thread here: www.mumsnet.com/talk/radio_addicts/4197199--The-Archers-spoilers-thread-7-Cant-wait-for-7-02pm-Join-us-here

Current main Archers thread here: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/radio_addicts/4887688-archers-thread-153-total-absolute-rubbish-but-we-keep-on-listening-hoping-for-better-things-its-the-hope-that-kills-you-discuss-the-archers-here?latest=1 The main thread tends to last a few weeks. The spoiler thread runs for around a year, but I strongly suspect it gets read about as much as the main thread.

Alice is just drunk, no other injury - altho they'll check, as she was apparently driving....

Bruisername · 06/05/2024 19:37

She’s passed out drunk so I assume the police will want her checked over before putting her in a cell

still wondering if we’re going to get selective memory Helen tut tutting!

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 06/05/2024 19:42

Alice necked at least a litre of vodka; pumping her stomach might be thought a sensible option when they do tests at th'ospital.

I can't help admiring the speed with which George seemed able to move her from driver's seat to passenger seat, and passenger seat to driver's seat; in every car I've see this century there's been a lot in the way of that manouevre, what with handbrakes and gear sticks and that central thing you can put cans of drink in... Even fully conscious it is simply easier to get out and walk round. I wouldn't like to shift someone so drunk they had passed out across that lot.

JanglyBeads · 06/05/2024 19:43

I agree Asking

WhoppingBigBackside · 06/05/2024 19:48

George has been doing body building, I think. Still, an unconscious Alice wouldn't be easy to move.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 06/05/2024 19:50

Would it help if we assume it's an automatic? (Spot the non-driver and non-car owner!)

Can't be Chris seeing Alice off to rehab if she's in custody, but I suppose she might be out on bail and heading to rehab in advance of a dangerous driving trial.

Or Brian gets her a one way ticket to Rio

Kayjay2018 · 06/05/2024 19:54

Surely when she gets checked over the seatbelt marks/ bruises would be the wrong way for her driving. That is if George and Alice went off the road etc, maybe it was only micks car

Had she taken it off when she tried to get out though? And I think they only clipped Mick’s car - probably not enough to leave a mark.

BreadAhoy · 06/05/2024 20:18

I think that perhaps the “life changing” news at the hospital is Fallon being told she’s pregnant after being checked over post-crash.

Oh, please let's not inflict that on Fallon! On Alice, yes.

WhoppingBigBackside · 06/05/2024 20:29

It wouldn't have been Joy's car because hers is an MG, probably open top.

Still often have a stick between the seats. An automatic can’t yet work out if you want to go forward or back

JanglyBeads · 06/05/2024 20:40

I think maybe Ruari's home incidentally or it's the end of term, but that will lead to the stuff from three years ago re Alice and him being dredged up in the family.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 06/05/2024 20:40

I suppose this entire storyline would be impossible in an age of driverless cars.

OP posts:
JanglyBeads · 06/05/2024 20:40

*bc it's the end of term

JanglyBeads · 06/05/2024 20:55

Oops @BeaRF75 posted a spoiler on the wrong thread (and I must say I for one didn't realise until someone only on the main thread questioned any mention of Ruari coming home

Gonners · 06/05/2024 20:56

I think most London University college terms technically go on until mid-June, but from May onwards that = exams/handing in papers (depending on the course). I had no final exams and had been working full-time for several weeks before taking a morning off to see the grades posted.

I do wonder if Ruairi is still even at university, though I hope he is and wish him well. Almost as though he were a real person! 😁

WhoppingBigBackside · 06/05/2024 20:56

The spoilers are on page 30. Wouldn't Alice have a hybrid or EV?

Gonners · 06/05/2024 21:01

Hang on ... from the spoilers:

6.5 There’s life-changing news at the hospital, and Kate fears the worst.

That's today, surely?

If Alice has managed to fuck up Ruairi's finals as well as his relationship with his mother, I shall be seriously cross about it.

JanglyBeads · 06/05/2024 21:16

Poor Joy, she only ever meant well.

Gonners · 06/05/2024 21:47

I think we can be pretty sure Joy won't be selling vodka to Alice again after she's put up the "Closed" sign.

I'm rather fond of Joy. She seems to have no malice in her.

BoreOfWhabylon · 06/05/2024 23:47

Suspect that Joy might end up as the only permanently disabled villager.
Should have been Alice.
