Spoilers thread for The Archers. Please keep all spoiler-related discussion in this thread and do not spill the beans on the main Archers Thread (hence the zipped mouth on the emoji!). Last spoilers thread here: www.mumsnet.com/talk/radio_addicts/4197199--The-Archers-spoilers-thread-6-Cant-wait-for-7-02pm-Join-us-here

Current main Archers thread here: www.mumsnet.com/talk/radio_addicts/4632741-archers-thread-139-whos-the-daddy-no-ceremonial-required-to-join-us-discuss-the-archers-here The main thread tends to last a few weeks. The spoiler thread runs for well over a year, but I strongly suspect it gets read about as much as the main thread.

Chelsea cut Lynda's hair beautifully for the MBE ceremony, but Lilian didn't trust her and went to someone else who made a right pig's ear of hers.

That was the same week in which Chelsea cut Blake's hair and thereby saved him from thinking Philip Moss was a good man, though I am a little unclear just how that worked.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 30/10/2022 18:25

Oh goodness, the someone who made a mess of Lilian's hair was Fabrice!

ILoveShula · 30/10/2022 18:34

Thanks, I thought that's what happened. It was quite funny. Smile BOOPs for Fabrice and Chelsea there.

ILoveShula · 04/11/2022 13:34

04 Nov Is someone out for revenge? Freddie offers a listening ear.
Tracey?

Tracey?

Chelsea works at the Orangery, so she may be bending Freddie's ear?

ILoveShula · 04/11/2022 16:32

That's what I thought too. I like Freddie. I do hope we see the back of the Caseys, but it might be Vince the Mince doing something about the solar panels.

LaGioconda · 04/11/2022 16:34

Gotta be Vince out for revenge.

CaptainMyCaptain · 04/11/2022 17:13

Or revenge on Vince for being such an arse.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 04/11/2022 18:51

I'm not sure how much help these are:

BBC One-Liners
06 Nov David and Ruth face a challenge, and George thinks it’s time to grow up.
07 Nov There are challenges ahead for Brookfield, and will Lynda’s snooping yield results?
08 Nov Alice has an important appointment, and Pip feels aggrieved.
09 Nov Elizabeth is trying to help, and Chris could use a favour.
10 Nov Has Neil found a new protégé? Brad is smartening up his act.
11 Nov Someone is in need of family support, and has Lynda found what she was looking for?

Radio Times Ambridge Diary 5th – 11th November 2022
Chelsea's hairdressing skills are in demand, and even Brad seems impressed, as he looks to smarten up his act. That just leaves his small talk....George looks to make some easy cash, while David & Ruth face a financial challenge, and Chris goes on the hunt for a tenant willing to do him a special favour. Pip is nursing a grievance, while Ben's family struggles to get him to open up, but it looks like one person might just break through.
Lynda turns talk to Christmas, but why is she grilling one villager in particular for their festive memories? And the ongoing saga of the St Stephen's window takes another turn.

+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+

Brookfield having a financial challenge does look as if not only does Vince want his money back Right Now, but they failed to get any agreement about repayment terms in writing. In which case, honestly, they deserve whatever he does to them in the way of messing up their bank-account.

ILoveShula · 04/11/2022 19:27

Thanks Asking. Is George going to try to get a job with his grandfather?

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 04/11/2022 20:23

Turns out they didn't read the contract! They definitely deserve anything they get as a result of that bit of imbecility.

ILoveShula · 04/11/2022 20:26

Can't argue with that Asking. I'm rather hoping that one day, Chelsea will be the chatelaine of LL. I heart Freddie.

Yes, I do hope this is what they have planned. After all, Freddie's paternal grandmother Julia (née Joan) was a working-class showgirl who married up. I don't see Chelsea changing her name to Charlotte and suddenly becoming terribly refained. They'd be a good match though - she'd keep Freddie grounded.

And thanks, as always, Asking Flowers

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 05/11/2022 08:03

Thanks, Asking! Do we know who Sally is?

OP posts:
Madcats · 05/11/2022 08:15

Is Sally a health visitor or Alice's alcohol dependency counsellor?

My heart sinks whenever I notice Martyn G'a name on the cast list. I wonder what the piggery is up to now.

My hope for the week is that Chelsea stops sniffing!

It would be good to slip in a reference to bird flu (and have Josh worrying about his chickens), but I bet there won't be even a whisper.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 05/11/2022 11:06

The Mail is now available:

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update 5th – 11th November 2022
Alice is, in her own way, a bit of a window specialist. Despite this, she spends too much of this week trying not to get drawn into the St Stephen’s stained-glass saga. She concentrates instead on her own challenges, as well as offering help to someone else going through a crisis.
Other Ambridgers also face challenges this week: David and Ruth, struggling to deal with a fiscal emergency, consider their financial assets, and Chris looks for a tenant.
Meanwhile, money-hungry George roams the village intent on drumming up a bit of cash and dealing with an earlier turkey of an investment. Steer clear of him,and while you’re at it, avoid Lynda. She’s up to something and whatever it is she’ll need volunteers.

ILoveShula · 05/11/2022 11:37

Thanks Asking. Maybe Sally is someone that Alice is mentoring, if that's the right term.
Someone posted this link to a church stained glass window on another TA thread.

Wilma55 · 07/11/2022 15:46

These are from the TV guide going up to 17/11...

13/11 Strong opinions are shared at Brookfield and Brad does some quick thinking
14/11 Ruairi is keen to impress and David appears to be avoiding his worries
15/11 An old friend hopes they can cheer up Ben, and Mia's getting on her bike
16/11 The hunt ball 8s in full swing and everyone is asking whether Ruairi will be taking anyone
17/11 Oliver seems to be held up tonight and Elizabeth is playing host

SundownOnTheStair · 08/11/2022 19:41

Where is the stained glass window saga up to? The last bit I heard was Alan summoning them to a meeting.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 08/11/2022 22:14

Tom wanted to have A Conversation about it with Alice (why? So that she could verify to him that his children matter and hers doesn't?) today, but she sensibly went to give a talk at the rehab establishment instead.

LaGioconda · 08/11/2022 22:21

Tony was whinging about the windows yesterday. Quite why all the Archers think Peggy has to get her way without question no matter how demanding or entitled she might be is one of life's mysteries.

SundownOnTheStair · 08/11/2022 23:01

I think Alan is going to stand firm.

SundownOnTheStair · 08/11/2022 23:04

Peggy could dedicate the window to re-wilding

MrsLyndaSnellMBE · 09/11/2022 11:05

Over my dead body.

Radio Times Ambridge Diary 13th – 18th November 2022
Plans for the annual hunt ball are in full swing, with Elizabeth set to play host, and Eddie equally ready for action. Will Oliver's dreams for a smooth evening come off? Ruairi hopes to impress Julianne with a new business opportunity, but will she see it the same way? It could also be time for him to mend old wounds with Ben, who certainly needs a friend. Talking of friends, vet Paul looks to be making one or two new ones. The Brookfield Archers are having less fun. As they ruminate over financial problems and family tensions, will too many things be said that can't be taken back?

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update 13th – 18th November 2022
Things will be said this week that cannot be unsaid. The Brookfield branch of the Archers, once so flush with cash, faces a serious financial challenge. Heated views are exchanged, opinions vented, and there's a real danger that a deep and permanent rift has opened up.
While the seething goes on at Brookfield, Oliver starts getting excited about the hunt ball; we too should get excited as the ball has, in the past, brought on all sorts of bad behaviour, some of it criminal, and there's every reason to hope history will repeat itself.
Meanwhile, Ruairi returns to the village for his birthday. Will the sight of Brian's only biological son help to lift the dark cloud that still engulfs his old mate Ben?

+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+

I'm going away next weekend as well, so if someone else feels like rounding up the various spoilers for 20th – 25th that would be triffic; if not, I'll try to get my act together when I get home on Tuesday or so.
