Spoilers thread for The Archers. Please keep all spoiler-related discussion in this thread and do not spill the beans on the main Archers Thread (hence the zipped mouth on the emoji!). Last spoilers thread here: www.mumsnet.com/talk/radio_addicts/4197199--The-Archers-spoilers-thread-6-Cant-wait-for-7-02pm-Join-us-here

Current main Archers thread here: www.mumsnet.com/talk/radio_addicts/4632741-archers-thread-139-whos-the-daddy-no-ceremonial-required-to-join-us-discuss-the-archers-here The main thread tends to last a few weeks. The spoiler thread runs for well over a year, but I strongly suspect it gets read about as much as the main thread.

I was trying to ignore the clickbait, but I feel you might want to see this one

Sorry to hear about your bereavement Gasp. Flowers

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 30/08/2023 21:09

Thanks. It had been looking increasingly likely for some time, which has helped a bit because it wasn't a bolt from the blue. Lots to sort out at the moment, which helps too.

Still keeping an eye on this thread! May start a new one at the weekend.

Thanks Gasp. Hope you and your mother are OK. It's sunny and warm here.

Who is Azra Malik? One of the GG lot, an owner of a patient at the vet's, or a counsellor for Helen maybe?
Is Vince going to offer Freddie a job?

I think it looks like Fallon is going to go to the EV charging station, Emmur will worry about her job, but will be offered the job of managing the tea shop at Bridge Farm by Natasha.

WhoppingBigBackside · 05/09/2023 12:13

Mere is going round all loved-up and with a post-coital glow and so probably is Brad. George who has had no girlfriends other than his hand will be furious...

Gonners · 05/09/2023 12:22

@WhoppingBigBackside Who is Azra Malik? One of the GG lot, an owner of a patient at the vet's, or a counsellor for Helen maybe?

Maybe the woman Stella met at the wedding, wherever it was?

WhoppingBigBackside · 05/09/2023 12:30

Wasn't she called Zara? Maybe I'm misremembering. I've just noticed that Lee is in the cast, so maybe he'll notice that Helen has been doing far more than turning down a few biscuits and a beef bourgignon.

Gonners · 05/09/2023 12:42

Maybe we'll only hear Lee on the phone. Yes, I am a hopeless optimist.

Novum · 05/09/2023 12:43

I suppose Pat putting her foot down will be to do with the anorexia.

Let's hope light at the end of the tunnel is Ron dropping off the twig.

WhoppingBigBackside · 05/09/2023 13:04

I don't think Rob will die just yet. Maybe Lee will be on a video call. I like him, he's generally gentle and mild. If he and Helen split up she'd probably get together with someone awful. Lee's not an interesting character, but he's inoffensive.
It's a shame that Kirsty isn't around, but at least Natasha is.

Quite a few of the male characters are a bit dull. Some in a nice way, like Alastair and Neil.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 05/09/2023 14:00

Rob was given three months or possibly a very little more to live, back on 14th July. I shall be downright peeved if he lasts to the end of November just for plot points.

He really ought to have stopped driving by now, at the very least.

TherapistInATabard · 05/09/2023 14:13

‘Panic stations for Ben’ tonight then ‘sad news at Brookfield’ on Thursday. Is Sykesy going to die? Ben will feel very guilty if so

WhoppingBigBackside · 05/09/2023 14:30

I think he'll go out with a bang. Or am I hoping that will be George? We'll be needing a new thread before long.

May I take this opportunity to thank @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g for all the hard work in creating this thread and keeping it going, to @AskingQuestionsAllTheTime for answering questions, and to everyone else who contributed to the thread.

Heartily second the bits on the outside of that, and the reply to the bit in the middle is "I actively enjoy going and trying to find the answers in my personal archive, so it genuinely isn't any trouble."

WhoppingBigBackside · 05/09/2023 17:40

Somebody posted "I think @WhoppingBigBacksidehas nailed it." on another thread and it's made my day. Blush

Best wishes for your travel, @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g . Have a safe journey.

WhoppingBigBackside · 05/09/2023 17:42

I don't want to see Sykesy go. Sad I like his interaction with Ben.

@AskingQuestionsAllTheTime , was the name of the woman Stella took a fancy to mentioned?

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 05/09/2023 17:51

I think it was Zara, but I may have read that somewhere rather than hearing it on air.

WhoppingBigBackside · 05/09/2023 17:58

I think that Ruth asked Stella something like 'was that Zara?' when Stella was upset about Weaver's dedding and taking a break was mentioned, but I might be wrong.

WhoppingBigBackside · 05/09/2023 20:11

Lee is coming back from San Francisco in the week starting 9 September, see the spoiler for 11 Sept. Looked in the Radio Times. The PipStel relationship will be problematic.

This is post 1000.
I still love Shula.
