The spoiler thread runs for well over a year, but I strongly suspect it gets read about as much as the main thread.

They are cute. A parent of a child in my class brought some ferret kittens in and they were gorgeous. They do have a certain odour though and I could smell it on my dress even after I'd washed it.

Somebody should mention this to Amol Rajan! I like him as a presenter generally, but his enunciation is not always tiptop. I'm not optimistic he'll have the precision necessary to host University Challenge.
You don't, but when the question involves reeling off multi-syllable chemical names or obscure geographical names, precision is key. I'm sure he'll try his best.

I used to love it when Jeremy Paxman mispronounced something.
Nick Robinson does not have an ear for pronunciation. Not a fan of Amol Rajan.

The Rob actor is excellent, isn't he.

Ah so the reports of Lee's actor popping up in a soap over the summer may be because he departs for the US soon and prolongs his stay there? Which Rob won't have directly planned, but of course it will delight him!

We have a Mum at school who comes to pickup with their pet ferret in a transparent-fronted backpack (I think it is an actual pet carrier but it just looks like a kids’ rucksack). I kid you not.

See says they are very similar to cats.

DCat looks a bit weaselly. She looked like a rat when she was a kitten, but she has quite a long brass neck now.

I wonder if I could carry DCat is a little backpack.

Radio Times Ambridge Diary 2nd – 7th July 2023
Let's start with good news - it's the wedding of Tracy and Jazzer this week, and while a last-minute emergency and Jim's present cause chaos, it is a heartening story. But just as things are starting to feel more positive for Helen and Lee, Henry drops a shocking bombshell. Meanwhile, Susan and Neil struggle to cope with George, and Lynda's plan for the fete takes shape.

Did we ever really think Jazzer and Tracy's big day was likely to go ahead without a hitch?
This week it's Jim who threatens to put a spoke in the wheel for the wedding of the year.
Meanwhile, just as Helen is starting to feel more positive about her life, her son Henry drops a bombshell.

Do we think Henry's bombshell might be that he is in touch with Rob and wants to meet with him? (Don't know or care what Jim's might be, but can't they keep the use of "drops a bombshell" to one character in a week?)

It seems pretty clear Henry's bombshell is to do with Knob. Knob hopes that he can persuade/bribe Henry into saying he wants to see Knob, preferably with Jack in tow.

I think bombshell means something huge like Ron's been in touch with him for as long as he's had a smartphone.

Thanks Asking. Maybe Clarrie and Eddie missed a trick not having a ferrety fun backpack for the school run. Presumably they take Poppy to school occasionally.

Hence Henry on his phone under the bed covers.

I have always thought that someone being on the spot meant they were among those present in a particular place ("I know she hit him: I was on the spot at the time and I saw everything") or that they had to do something immediately ("she had to make up her mind on the spot about whether or not to hit him"), and it was only if they were put on the spot that they were put in an awkward position, but hey. Or maybe they do mean Helen is right there rather than her being in a difficulty.

I was very late getting my act together. I tend to wait for the Daily Fail spoiler before posting, and if I don't get it fairly quickly I may forget altogether.

How often does a double writer week happen??

No idea, but I enjoyed hearing George get fired. Susan & Emmur won't be pleased.

Oh, I've just thought (rare event, that) the sausage roll will have been eaten by Jodie, and Martyn Gibson will sack Neyull, promoting George. Jazzer will probably also lose his job.
Ghastly Geowurge will try to kill Hannah.
