I'll be so disappointed if the SWs do that.

SaturdayNext · 21/01/2019 17:16

Likewise. I think we've had more than enough of Ed and Emma constantly being blighted financially, and if it happens because Ed does something bloody stupid I'll be severely pissed off.

QuaterMiss · 24/01/2019 11:22

What's Jill's bombshell? That she's going to move into LL? 'Bout time ...

SaturdayNext · 24/01/2019 11:46

Not sure if I can bear to listen to Kenton fouling up his discussion with Lizzie.

BoreOfWhabylon · 24/01/2019 20:27

So, Tony has bad news to impart tomorrow.

And there's a life-changing decision from one of the Aldridges - Jennfer divorcing Brine? Not likely when Shula's got that s/l. Kate staying in SA?

Thanks as always Gump

QuaterMiss · 25/01/2019 19:05

Aha! ...

Re Jill Grin

Gumpendorf · 31/01/2019 19:29

Apologies for the lack of spoilers. I sprained my wrist falling on the ice last week and haven't been able to post. Normal service soon! Thanks

Oh - bad luck! Hope it's healing rapidly.

Bittermints · 31/01/2019 20:17

Sounds nasty! Would it be OK if I had a go at finding some?

Gumpendorf · 31/01/2019 22:11

Radio Times 2 - 8 February 2018

It's the moment Brian has been dreading: his day in court. But will things go his way? And will the Aldridges finally be able to put the nightmare of the contaminated land behind them? Jennifer has an added concern now that Lexi's pregnancy is common knowledge. As speculation mounts, everyone concerned finds the gossip difficult to deal with.

Helen continues to worry about what to tell Lee, while Kirsty has a big decision to make regarding her future with Philip. It's also a life-changing week for Alistair, while Jolene continues to quietly support Elizabeth by filling her in on the latest goings-on at Brookfield. But her plan backfires and another villager gets caught in the crossfire....

Cast: Jill, David, Ruth, Pip, Ben, Kenton, Jolene, Helen, Tom, Brian, Jennifer, Rex, Toby, Bert, Eddie, Shula, Alistair, Adam, Kirsty, Elizabeth, Johnny, Roy, Natasha, Leonard (played by Paul Copley, long-standing Radio 4 voice, e.g. King Street Junior, Tom Wrigglesworth's dad)

I wonder who Leonard will be. Solicitor? Judge/magistrate?

Mootsie · 01/02/2019 15:25

Who is the prodigal. Surely it's too early for Freddie's release?

Bittermints · 01/02/2019 15:53

Kate? I hope she ends up sleeping in a tepee.

Mootsie · 02/02/2019 10:25

Oh yes, I'd forgotten all about Kate. Grin

Time to clean out the yurts.

MrsArthurShappey · 05/02/2019 13:46

Ugh is Pip going to be 'not impressed' by Jill having a gentleman caller? I sincerely hope not

Bittermints · 05/02/2019 15:11

I hope it's Toby falling short of Pip's expectations again.

MrsArthurShappey · 05/02/2019 16:10

Me too

witchmountain · 07/02/2019 00:05

Thanks, Bittermints and hope you’re healing, Gump!

thislldofornow · 09/02/2019 22:34

Here are some more. I can't figure out where you get the general summary paragraphs from. Have never been onto the Radio Times website before, it's very odd!

10 Feb Emma's attempts to help backfire and Elizabeth struggles to keep up appearances
11 Feb There's bad news for Brian and Ian waves the white flag
12 Feb Kenton has concerns over the future of Lower Loxley and the prodigal returns
13 Feb Elizabeth faces her demons and attempts the first step to recovery
14 Feb Will receives a shock and Helen's evening takes an unexpected turn
15 Feb Tracy stands accused and Roy takes pity

17 Feb Lily makes a big decision and Clarrie proves to be a source of inspiration.
18 Feb Ruairi is man of moment when he comes to the rescue.
19 Feb Peggy offers some advice.
20 Feb Will struggles as Nic's anniversary approaches.
21 Feb Jim raises the stakes for Daniel.

QuaterMiss · 09/02/2019 22:45

Oooh - Lily, Ruairi and Dan!

Exciting times.

Thanks thislldofornow.

(I also can make neither head nor tail of RT online.)

Radio Times this week (courtesy of Mustardland).

Not normally something in the Archers, a special 2 hander one of the characters is the fragile Elizabeth who finally starts to face up to her demons, but will she be strong enough to fight them? And who will be there to help?

Will is wrestling with his memories of Nic after receiving a shock delivery in the post. He immediately seeks out the guilty party, is he barking up the wrong tree?

A familiar face is back and immediately causes tension. Roy takes pity on a lady in distress. Brian fears more financial belt tightening may lead to a problem for a family member.

From the same source, some slightly differenty worded spoilers:

11 Feb There’s bad news for Brian and Ian waves the white flag.
12 Feb Kenton has concerns over the future of Lower Loxley and the prodigal returns.
13 Feb Elizabeth faces her demons and attempts the first step to recovery.
14 Feb Will receives a shock and Helen’s evening takes an unexpected turn.
15 Feb Tracy stands accused and Roy takes pity.

Sunday 17th Feb Lily makes a big decision and Clarrie proves to be a source of inspiration
18th Feb Ruairi comes to the rescue and Elizabeth feels guilty
19th Feb Peggy offers some advice and it's stalemate at Bridge Farm
20th Feb Jill is shocked by the truth about recent events and Kenton pleads for mercy
21st Feb Will struggles as Nic's anniversary approaches and Susan deals with an emergency

QuaterMiss · 11/02/2019 13:09

I'm guessing no nine month* NHS wait for a therapist for Elizabeth then.

(*Extrapolating - I only know the length is unsatisfactory.)

Thanks Bittermints.

SaturdayNext · 12/02/2019 09:04

Surely Lily's big decision has to be packing in university and coming home? The artist won't like that.

thislldofornow · 12/02/2019 09:39

Thanks bittermints.

I didn't think therapy existed in the Archers, it's been stiff upper lip all the way as far as I can remember - when Nigel died, for Helen and Henry, when Nic died. I'm not suggesting everyone needs therapy every time something goes wrong, but it wouldn't hurt for the SW to show it's an option.Perhaps they think it's only for people who Have Depression.

Bittermints · 12/02/2019 10:57

Helen saw a therapist at some point, I think, but I can't remember after which of the many traumas she's had. Was it perhaps at the fertility clinic when she was being assessed to see if she should be able to have a baby using their services?

She should have seen someone after coming out of prison, but as far as we know she didn't, and neither has Henry.

We have had depression in TA before as a storyline. Both Pat and Mike Tucker had major depressive episodes. Greg was depressed too, but whether he had treatment or not I can't now recall.
