He would certainly have trouble accepting money from his abuser.

Radio Times Ambridge Diary 23rd-28th Feb
This week’s battlefield report finds Lynda forced into retreat over her ReBulls cause, but she’s hoping that this isn’t the end of the fight. And, sure enough, Soldier Snell faces an unexpected showdown with a familiar foe …
It’s Xander’s naming ceremony and Kate pulls out all the stops, but she’s preoccupied after last week’s shock. Having put Jakob through the mill, Kate frets that things won’t ever be the same between them. Will some wise words from Alice heal the wound?
Jim gets news that proves difficult to digest and soon his thoughts turn to Michael, who still hasn’t got in touch. As Alistair and Jazzer share their concerns, will Jim finally be able to move on?

SurpriseSparDay · 22/02/2020 13:07

Aha! Jim’s going to be left money by Howard and - when Michael does get in touch - he’ll give it all to him.

Finished.

Thanks!

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 22/02/2020 14:38

Well, here is the Mail:

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update Feb 23-28
Another troubling week of poor Jim as the traumas of his childhood haunt him, and the silence from one of his fellow sufferers continues. Alistair and Jazzer go into their double act to support and cheer him, but worry that the Professor’s past will over shadow the rest of his life.
Kate - and this is very unusual for the bossy former wild child of Ambridge - worries about the ordeal she has put Jakob through, but tries to put this to one side as she prepares for Xander’s naming ceremony.
Meanwhile, Tracy makes a decision, Johnny makes Freddie an offer, the calving problem continues at Brookfield, and Lynda worries about the future.

=

I think "Another troubling week of poor Jim" probably ought to be "Another troubling week for poor Jim".

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 22/02/2020 14:40

Thanks! Good to see Brian in the cast list. Keri Davies writing too, which is usually a guarantee of some good scenes.

MikeUniformMike · 22/02/2020 15:21

Kate was shocked last week? Er, is a non-pregnancy really a shock, or was it Jakob's kindness that shocked her?

Thanks for the spoilers, Asking.

Motoko · 22/02/2020 15:59

It was the non pregnancy, because she was so convinced.

Thanks Asking.

SurpriseSparDay · 23/02/2020 19:12

Well, no spoilering re Adam and Ian, so presumably the court business will go smoothly?

MikeUniformMike · 28/02/2020 15:23

Radio Times Ambridge Diary 1st-6th March
Robert’s attempt to maintain calm doesn’t go down well, as tensions remain high between his wife Lynda and Lilian. But we may just have reached a turning point in their war, with the ReBulls starting to lose interest in saving the name of the pub. And then Lynda makes a huge mistake where a colleague is concerned …
Plans are forging ahead for Kirsty and Philip’s secret wedding, but the bride-to-be is wrestling with a dilemma about a potential guest. Later in the week, Philip’s strange behaviour fuels Kirsty’s paranoia - could history be about to repeat itself? But when Kirsty finally confronts her fiancé, she certainly isn’t prepared for his response.

Motoko · 28/02/2020 16:52

So, looks like Lynda's going to tell Oliver of her suspicions that Freddie's dealing.

Thanks Asking.

MikeUniformMike · 28/02/2020 16:56

Thanks Asking.
Kirsty will invite Tom. Maybe she could invite Sam too.

BoreOfWhabylon · 28/02/2020 18:37

Thanks Asking

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 29/02/2020 15:11

And now

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update March 1-6
Those of us who remember Kirsty’s howl that echoed round St Stephen’s when the Sausage King let her down in the vestry will understand why she is getting jittery as her next nuptials draw near. Philip’s odd behaviour does little to calm her nerves.
David and Ruth are also on edge about the troubles - not to mention the arresting officers - that Josh has brought to Brookfield, while Ed finds himself in trouble over Emma.
The clash between Lilian and Lynda continues as Lynda, having already made a catastrophic mistake, has further troubles. Her ReBulls are losing interest in her fight, and are slowly drifting back to the pub.
All these little dramas, however, will be as nothing compared to what is heading Ambridge’s way next week.

=

I am sick to death of all this melodrama. Can someone please get the new editor to calm down?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 29/02/2020 15:58

Thanks, Asking! That last line in the DM has sent me off on a hunt for more spoilers, I'm afraid. (I am not a patient person.)

From the BBC website:
08 Mar Lynda’s frustration grows and there are fireworks on Tom and Natasha’s first wedding anniversary
09 Mar One resident finds themselves in a desperate situation and Emma struggles to remain calm under pressure
10 Mar There’s bad news for Robert and Elizabeth goes over the top.
11 Mar Oliver bears the brunt and Russ offers his support.
12 Mar Emotions run high for Lilian and Clarrie has concerns about her new guest
13 Mar Philip receives some worrying information and Tracy attempts to help a friend in need.

15 Mar [No teaser on the website at the moment]
16 Mar [No teaser on the website at the moment]
17 Mar [No teaser on the website at the moment]
18 Mar Harrison makes a worrying discovery and Lilian has a brainwave
19 Mar There’s a near miss for Ed and Lilian delivers some good news.
20 Mar The stress rises for Philip and Brian makes an intervention.

Hmmmmmm.

SurpriseSparDay · 29/02/2020 17:37

Thanks, Asking! That last line in the DM has sent me off on a hunt for more spoilers, I'm afraid. (I am not a patient person.)

Came on to say exactly the same!

Hmm ... indeed. Is something bad about to happen to Lynda? Robert, Oliver and Lilian all in emotional turmoil ... She’s had a rather complete ‘here’s all your best bits’ run lately. Magic time, community militancy, grandmother shenanigans ...

(Oh, Gasp0, your Hmmmmmm now appears on my phone screen directly beneath the Sky News announcement of the expected Symonds-Johnson offspring! Grin)

MikeUniformMike · 29/02/2020 19:24

Lynda is going to grass Freddie.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 29/02/2020 21:28

Yes, I think Lynda is going to make a huge mistake and drop Oliver in it. Elizabeth and Russ both mentioned, I see. What about Kirsty and Philip, though? Something to do with Gav?

SurpriseSparDay · 29/02/2020 22:05

Yes, yes ... but after that.

Perhaps she and Robert will leave Ambridge?

JudyCoolibar · 02/03/2020 11:50

Teasers up for the missing days now:

08 Mar Lynda’s frustration grows and there are fireworks on Tom and Natasha’s first wedding anniversary
09 Mar One resident finds themselves in a desperate situation and Emma struggles to remain calm under pressure
10 Mar There’s bad news for Robert and Elizabeth goes over the top.
11 Mar Oliver bears the brunt and Russ offers his support.
12 Mar Emotions run high for Lilian and Clarrie has concerns about her new guest
13 Mar Philip receives some worrying information and Tracy attempts to help a friend in need.
15 Mar Lilian offers support and Ben’s 18th birthday present causes debate
16 Mar Philip questions his future and Ed has concerns.
17 Mar Kirsty needs some reassurance and Adam finds himself overworked
18 Mar Harrison makes a worrying discovery and Lilian has a brainwave
19 Mar There’s a near miss for Ed and Lilian delivers some good news.
20 Mar The stress rises for Philip and Brian makes an intervention.

TherapistInATabard · 02/03/2020 15:11

Is Elizabeth going to go over the top when she hears about the Freddie gossip, and Oliver will bear the brunt because his staff are doing the gossiping? And Russ will offer his support because eeuuuggghhhhh

CryHavoc · 03/03/2020 09:33

I thought the terrible thing might be to do with Lynda, and I really hope I'm wrong. She's one if my favourites.

BoreOfWhabylon · 06/03/2020 13:13

No dea about the disaster scenario, but in a sub-plot:
Gav will decide to move away to either forget Kelly or get back together with her.

Philip questioning his future because he can't run the business without him.

Making room for... Ed to become Philip's right-hand man.

Ed becomes more financially stable and feels he can now ask Em to reconsider divorce.
