But there are no animals in the building trade ... Wouldn’t Ed be unbearably unhappy?

Just remembered a small BOOP for Ruth (!) finally making me understand just how awful Josh must be feeling. Was it Bore who foretold that he might take over the Brookfield Wedding Barn business? I’m sure he’d do it well - but why would wedding couples (and their banks-of-Mum-and-Dad) trust him any more than farm equipment punters?

BoreOfWhabylon · 06/03/2020 13:28

Ed would still do animal stuff on the side.

Can't remember whether the 🔮 predicted Josh taking over the Wedding Barn but he's the only one of the Brookfield Numpties who could do so.

JudyCoolibar · 06/03/2020 14:42

I wonder if Josh will be the one to source some sort of vehicle for Ben?

campion · 07/03/2020 10:44

My money's on Lynda. She's had a disproportionate amount of air time lately.
Not a good sign...

SurpriseSparDay · 07/03/2020 11:10

Right. 🔮

There’s going to be an accidennt at GG related to digging up the kitchen floor, under Gavin’s supervision. Lynda and Freddie involved - one going to rescue the other. Lynda will be badly hurt (it’s midweek so presumably not immediately dedded) and Freddie injured enough for Elizabeth to tear Oliver limb from limb.

Meanwhile Philip is going to discover he’s close to bankruptcy. Btw have you noticed just how often Gavin is at the scene of a phone/laptop misadventure? Sneaking into the house to check his dad’s laptop, offering to look after Philip’s forgotten phone, ‘forgetting’ his own phone so needing to go back to the house ... It may be that he has been draining money in some way - maybe that’s why Kelly kicked him out. Either way, money and Philip will not be friends soon. Kirsty might find her newly cushy life in some jeopardy ...

SurpriseSparDay · 07/03/2020 11:21

Actually, a major accident.

SurpriseSparDay · 07/03/2020 11:25

Sorry, one more. Of course Philip’s troubles could come from prosecution following Gavin’s disastrous execution of the GG building work - but they’ve laid the groundwork for a problem going much further back in time.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 07/03/2020 12:12

Radio Times Ambridge Diary 8-13 Mar
It’s a major week of Ambridge action, so details are in short supply. Mind you, unlike the world of TV soaps, where viewers are saturated with pre-broadcast spoilers, many Archers fans cry foul when too much is revealed in advance.
All we can say is that there are further problems at Grey Gables, as Freddie rebuffs Lynda’s attempts to apologise. Elsewhere, Tom and Natasha’s first wedding anniversary doesn’t go to plan, but such concerns end up paling into insignificance when something unexpected rocks the village. Expect the repercussions to play out in the weeks to come …

====================
So not Grey Gables, if that is mentioned as paling into insignificance?

Does Ed Grundy try to kill himself because of Emma having decided they ought to get a divorce? Would the editor really do that to Clarrie twice, once with each of her sons?

SurpriseSparDay · 07/03/2020 12:21

Well ... the paling into insignificance is in the second sentence, not the GG sentence, so it could still be ...

But if it’s something entirely unexpected - hmm ... There is at least one doctor involved. It does sound like an old skool major disaster rather than a single personal event.

Thanks for spoilers!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 07/03/2020 13:02

Gas explosion? Gav rushes the job, cuts corners, KABOOM! Bye bye Grey Gables.

I think you're probably right, Spar, about Lynda and/or Freddie being involved. Also about Gav being a wrong 'un more generally. With any luck he gets blown to smithereens and we won't have to hear any more of him.

Thanks, Asking!

SurpriseSparDay · 07/03/2020 13:07

Actually ... If Gav gets blown to smithereens Philip may change his mind about not wanting (more) children.

Win, win ...

SurpriseSparDay · 07/03/2020 13:09

(That would be Philip worrying about his future ...)

BoreOfWhabylon · 07/03/2020 13:26

They'd better not be blowing up Philip!

Perhaps Johnny attempts a home hair transplant, with disastrous consequences.

Thanks Asking

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 07/03/2020 16:29

This may help a little:

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update March 8-13
The Grey Gables kitchens are out of action, and The Bull is not, in so many ways, what it was, but there are other reasons for staying our side of The Mighty Am this week. A dark cloud of doom hovers over Lakey Hill; something awful is heading towards Ambridge, and things will never be quite the same again.
There are, of course, one or two minor matters of interest, including the pleasure of listening to Lynda apologising to the late Mr Snowy’s son about her accusations of drug-dealing, plus a chance to hear one Horrobin woman trying to give advice to another.
These are just mere side events, however, as a whole heap of trouble is about to be visited upon Ambridge.

SurpriseSparDay · 07/03/2020 16:31

Bloody hell. They’re going to wipe out the village and resurrect Ambridge as a podcast.

campion · 07/03/2020 16:58

Oh dear.
Is this going to be more tedious than The Flood? Which reminds me...surely it's about time for Rob Titchener to reappear (doom music)

SurpriseSparDay · 07/03/2020 17:09

Northumberland is lovely at this time of year ...

BoreOfWhabylon · 07/03/2020 17:32

Either Ye Greatte Fludde returning or...

Coronavirus!

dun dun dunnnnnn!!!!

Motoko · 07/03/2020 19:58

Who is Clarrie's guest?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 07/03/2020 19:59

Lakey Hill turns out to be an active volcano and it erupts.

The Am is revealed to be tidal and there's a tsunami.

Tornado.

Earthquake.

Worst lightning strike in the history of the UK.

Plague of locusts.

Plague of vipers.

Plague of enormous spiders.

The Am turns out to be infested with piranhas.

Sinkhole storyline of a few years back finally comes to fruition.

The Gills of Home Farm turn out to have been making a dirty bomb and it goes off. Half the village is wiped out. Please, please, please let it include Pip.

Brookfield is attacked by massed badgers, in retribution for David's badger murder all those years ago.

SurpriseSparDay · 07/03/2020 20:29

Lakey Hill turns out to be an active volcano and it erupts.

Ha! Took a stroll on Arthur’s Seat while I was in Edinburgh recently. Friend, later, on the phone: “But how do they know it’s extinct?”

Anyway. Where would a landslide from Lakey Hill hit first?

BoreOfWhabylon · 07/03/2020 22:41

Knob has been wild camping on Lakey Hill, observing, making his plans to wreak vengeance on the village.

SurpriseSparDay · 08/03/2020 11:34

So ... Gav - he’s very expendable.

I’m guessing he’s an early fatality. Previously I’d hoped it might be his poor Dad - leaving a battle with Kirsty for custody of new-build. But if the disaster happens on Monday Kirsty and Philip will presumably still be a safe distance away.

Oh! That fire posited at the top of the first spoiler thread. Hasn’t been deployed yet, has it? Though the spoilers are suggesting something to do with land movement. Racking my brain cell. A pipe’s being dug up, yes. What else is disrupted?

Of course, if the B@Ambridge should be obliterated, the new pub could be unveiled with a sentimentally significant old name ...

SurpriseSparDay · 08/03/2020 13:41

There’s been a fire in the Leeds area caused by a pig eating its pedometer. The excreted wires reacted badly with surrounding material ... (Sky app won’t let me link.)

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 08/03/2020 13:45

Well, that's promising, Spar! The pigs at Berrow Farm could cause an out and out conflagration.
