I have to admit my heart sinks rather when I see that Tim Stimpson is the writer for the week; he did so much of the howling melodrama under O'Connor. Rapes and Ye Olde Fludde and the three-day New Year's Eve and the dreadful half-hour court-scene shout-in.... I was glad when he left along with O'Connor to go to EastEnders, and sorry that he returned when O'Connor was booted out after a year.
