MikeUniformMike · 24/10/2019 17:11

Who is Carmen?

MikeUniformMike · 24/10/2019 17:12

Forgot to say thank you. Thanks Asking.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 27/10/2019 10:28

I was away yesterday, but today I have yesterday's spoilers addition:

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update Oct 27-Nov 1
A flicker of hope takes hold in Grundy hearts, fanned by the letter sent to them from beyond the grave by Joe. Will they at last come to rule over Ambridge - or at least have enough cash to keep the Grundys’ home fires burning?
While they go on the trail of the letter’s writer, Shula writes her autobiographical work as part of her ordination process. Will her back-stabbing fling with Usher’s [sic] old flame figure in the prissy bell-ringer’s work?
Alice does her bit to fan the flames of love when she launches a campaign to get Jakob and Kate back together.
Meanwhile,Tracy’s ears burn as rumours spread and, as the Halloween night deepens, Jim tells Robert an old ghost story-and gets an unexpected reaction.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 27/10/2019 11:00

Thanks, Asking!

Another unnecessary new character. Harrumph.

MikeUniformMike · 27/10/2019 12:57

Thanks Asking. Carmen is Joe's mystery woman.

Radio Times Ambridge Diary November 3rd-8th
It’s Joe’s final farewell and Eddie is focused on his dad’s legacy, but will he find a volunteer to support him with his experiment? And, at the wake, Jim tries to keep a final promise to his old friend. But will he be able to confront a ghost from the past in order to fulfil Joe’s request?
At Lower Loxley, Lily continues to push Russ to divorce Lara. But suspecting that Russ might be making excuses, Lily decides to confront Lara herself. And as Bonfire Night arrives, Shula allows Freddie to host a party at the Stables. But by this point, Lily is in a foul mood and, with alcohol flowing, there’s the distinct possibility of the evening going with a different kind of bang than was anticipated.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 31/10/2019 15:29

Thanks, Asking!

Looks like Russ has either taken no steps towards getting a divorce or is actively trying not to get one. Oh dear, who could have predicted that? Hmm

I also predict that Eddie is going to try to make the hangover cure and it will all go wrong with hilarious consequences.

MikeUniformMike · 31/10/2019 17:02

Thanks AskingQuestionsAllTheTime.

Madcats · 31/10/2019 17:10

It sounds as if we are back to 'shouty shouty' episodes again, then.

Beveren · 01/11/2019 16:53

Why do they keep banging on about Robert's reaction to Jim's ghost story being unexpected? It was obviously precisely the reaction Jim intended to get.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 02/11/2019 14:55

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update 3rd-8th November
An Influential cheese-maker brings a glow of hope for cheese fame into Helen’s life, while another character comes out of the shadows - Russ’s wife.
While these two bit players enjoy their moment in the spotlight, Ambridge bids farewell to one of its leading lights. Joe Grundy’s funeral will be a fine moment in the village annals, though not without its complications as Jim frets, Emma helps out and Eddie tries to fulfil his grandfather’s wishes.
Freddie, meanwhile, gets things ablaze at the stables, and his twin sister stokes her rage with liberal helpings of alcohol.

===================================

Neither of the "bit players" seems to be in the cast list.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 02/11/2019 15:02

Thanks, Asking.

Eddie fulfils his father's wishes or Ed fulfils his grandfather's wishes? Former sounds more likely. Maybe Lily is the next guinea pig for the hangover cure.

I hope that's not a literal blaze. We've had fires in the village too many times before.

Ghostontoast · 02/11/2019 15:04

...not another stables fire (Grace Archer)

SurpriseSparDay · 05/11/2019 08:51

Days like today I find myself wishing for actual spoilers that say what’s going to happen!

BoreOfWhabylon · 05/11/2019 09:05

Me too!

Beveren · 05/11/2019 12:04

Maybe it's worth looking further ahead:

05 Nov The pressure is on for Helen and Russ finds himself in trouble.
06 Nov Lily makes a big decision and Eddie awaits the results of his experiment.
07 Nov Jim attempts to take a monumental step and Oliver tries to make amends.
08 Nov Ambridge bids a final farewell to Joe and Jim faces his big moment.
10 Nov Eddie’s emotions bubble to the surface and Tony fears he may have caused offence
11 Nov David is shocked by an unexpected invitation and Elizabeth has a brainwave
12 Nov Clarrie attempts to keep the peace and Justin’s reach extends ever further
13 Nov Tony finds himself attracting attention and a potential opportunity comes along for Chris.
14 Nov Lily faces a dilemma and Jim finds himself tempted
15 Nov There’s a near miss for Peggy and Will looks to the future.

Not many clues there on CMR's fate.

MikeUniformMike · 05/11/2019 14:19

I hope Lily isn't up the duff.

MikeUniformMike · 05/11/2019 19:42

I don't think she's up the duff but I think that the scales have fallen from her eyes.

SurpriseSparDay · 06/11/2019 08:21

Why do I have the horrid, horrid feeling that Lily’s decision will not be what the entire universe wants?

She’s so proud and prickly - I wouldn’t be at all surprised if the SWs have her deciding that this latest revelation only means she and CMR should become more formally attached.

(Fingers crossed that I’m wrong.)

SurpriseSparDay · 06/11/2019 08:24

And, given that she sort of completed one term in Manchester, I’m wondering if she could possibly resume her course in January ...

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 07/11/2019 13:18

Giving all the things I have for next week, as usual (I find it helps sort it out if I pull them together for me, so why not share?)

Radio Times Ambridge Diary November 10th-15th
Tony’s plan to get people to see the damage caused by sky lanterns backfires when he unwittingly offends Joy. Before long they bury the hatchet and bond over classic cars - but they become the subject of surprising gossip.
Tensions run high for Will, Jake and Mia after Joe’s funeral, but Jim encourages Will not to let past events damage relations with his children.
Lily makes a shocking discovery as she browses through some old photos - but what will she do with this possibly incendiary information?
And as Peggy celebrates her birthday, she receives an unexpected offer from a journalist. Is she about to become the victim of press spin?

+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+

I have to admit my heart sinks rather when I see that Tim Stimpson is the writer for the week; he did so much of the howling melodrama under O'Connor. Rapes and Ye Olde Fludde and the three-day New Year's Eve and the dreadful half-hour court-scene shout-in.... I was glad when he left along with O'Connor to go to EastEnders, and sorry that he returned when O'Connor was booted out after a year.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 07/11/2019 13:40

Thanks, Asking. Joy again, oh dear. That looks like a potential re-run of the ancient storyline where Tony became chummy with one of John's college girlfriends - Sandy? - who shared his love of vintage tractors. Pat was jealous. Not a vintage storyline!

Madcats · 07/11/2019 14:25

I wonder what Lily's shocking discovery is going to be? Me thinks it is probably some photos of a very young Lizzie with Robin Fairbrother. History repeating itself perhaps (he was 10+ years older...didn't divorce his wife...Lizzie confronted his wife...Robin went back to his wife...Lizzie dropped...enter Nigel).

I'm not sure that I'd call it "incendiary" though.

Beveren · 07/11/2019 19:03

Could be CMR's ancient photos, e.g. him cuddling up to some 13 year old student?
