That's who I meant Molly but was too lazy to look it up.
Shula's process will probably take about as long as it takes to read what's on the link.

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update Aug 11-16
Peggy has drawn up her short list for the Ambridge Conservation Trust, and everyone is on pins to see who is going to get her dosh. We are quietly confident that our own modest proposal - to expel Hilda from the village, and thus save much wildlife from a ghastly end - will get a bye to the final.
The competitive spirit is at work all over the village as Lilian tries to lure Jim into her quiz team, and Freddie and Tracey go for the same job.
Yet more trouble - not to mention an ambulance - arrives at the Grundys’, disaster looms in the dairy and Alice, presumably motivated by malice, plays Cupid to Kate and Jakob.
Meanwhile Jazzer makes a shocking admission, Susan faces some home truths, and Shula makes her opening bid.

MollyButton · 10/08/2019 20:43

Thanks! Asking.

Motoko · 10/08/2019 22:46

Ambulance at the Grundy's?. Is this it, is this when Joe dies?

QuaterMiss · 10/08/2019 22:56

That seems a reasonable conclusion to draw.

Although for some reason I am weirdly reminded of Betty ...

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 12/08/2019 23:04

Thanks, Asking. Surely this must be curtains for Joe at last. Sad

MikeUniformMike · 13/08/2019 06:10

I think so. Poor Joe.

FreshFreesias · 13/08/2019 20:22

I have been so consumed with politics and LBC I haven't been following the Archers for a year but suddenly find myself consumed with curiosity.

Has Shula got back with alistair (and if not, why not? A middle aged woman with a stables;is she mad? ( I've got loads of dogs and he'd be perfect for ME)

Has lizzy met anyone yet?

Are Justin and Lillian stil together?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 13/08/2019 21:36

No, no, yes, @FreshFreesias! Shula is currently planning to take holy orders.

MollyButton · 13/08/2019 21:57

Lizzy was busy having a breakdown for a lot of the year (business in trouble, son in prison and daughter shacked up with the deputy head of her sixth form).

Alistair is a lot happier! And is a lot closer to his Dad.

Shula is going for Ordination.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 13/08/2019 22:36

I'm away for a long weekend early tomorrow, so posting these early.

Radio Times Ambridge Diary August 18-23
It's all getting a bit Dragon's Den, with Peggy in the role of business fire-breather. Half a million pounds are at stake, but which pitch will she declare the best on the evening? Expect someone's plans to be thrown into chaos, Ruth to be left resentful, and Tom & Adam each to feel that victory will be theirs.
Over at Grey Gables, Lynda is far from impressed when she's upstaged by her new protege, who then finds himself vying for prime position with another villager. Clarrie attempts to reassure Will, who's still haunted by the past and finding it difficult to let go. And as Emma's erratic behaviour causes concern, Ed hatches a plan. But will his efforts ultimately make things worse?

I doubt I shall see the Weekend Mail spoilers.

BoreOfWhabylon · 13/08/2019 23:13

I don't think the ambulance will be for Joe. I think it will be the suspected chickenpoxed child (Poppy?) taking a turn for the worse and Will doing a bedside vigil again.

Motoko · 14/08/2019 09:23

Thanks Asking. Have a good weekend.

Bore, that sounds very plausible. I do wonder how long they're going to drag it out with Joe. It feels kind of disrespectful.

"Over at Grey Gables, Lynda is far from impressed when she's upstaged by her new protege, who then finds himself vying for prime position with another villager.

I don't understand this bit. As it's at GG, and Lynda's been given the job of mentoring Tracey, I thought the reference to "protege" meant her, but it says "himself", so now I'm confused!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 14/08/2019 10:41

Thanks, Asking, and have a good break!

Might it be Jim, Motoko? She was being eversokind to him at one point, and encouraging him to be part of the quiz team.

We had a wonderful time, and I got back last night but have not yet caught up with the Archers for the week we were away. Having looked at the Lowfield synopses, I am not at all sure that I really want to! Still, I have the spoilers ready to post tomorrow.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 21/08/2019 22:18

Welcome back!

Motoko · 21/08/2019 22:56

Glad you had a good time Asking.

Yes, looking at that now, it could be Jim. She was very happy with Tracey, and even told her she was coping "exceptionally well". She even agreed to have some of Tracey's falafels!

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 22/08/2019 13:05

As I said, I have the spoilers again.

Radio Times Ambridge Diary August 25-30
The shattering of Emma’s home-owning dream has been horribly compelling and there appears to be more misery in store. A few choice comments from Hannah make Emma feel even more wretched and lead to a falling-out with Neil that could affect their ability to work together in the future.
There’s disaster for Will over at Greenwood while, later in the week, Clarrie’s attempt to do the right thing goes badly wrong and sends Will on a downward spiral - will anyone be able to get through to him?
For light relief, we have Jennifer’s new venture causing much amusement within the family, but Brian’s practical joke doesn’t quite have the effect he’d hoped it would.

Motoko · 22/08/2019 17:19

So, Hannah's back. I'm guessing her choice comments to Emma, are something along the lies that she didn't deserve to get the house anyway, because she thinks Neil asked Justin to look favourably on her bid.

To be honest, I can't stand Hannah, and I didn't miss her, so I hope this is only a brief appearance.

Will getting the wrong impression is par for the course, and his mental health is spiralling out of control. He needs some serious bereavement counselling, and has done for a long while, so it looks like he's heading for a breakdown.

And another horrifying discovery? What's it going to be this time?

Thanks Asking, I think!

BoreOfWhabylon · 22/08/2019 17:25

Welcome back Asking, and thanks for latest updates

Who is Vince Casey, I wonder?

Probably another plot device, I answer myself.

MollyButton · 22/08/2019 18:12

Vince Casey could be on the panel for Peggy's environmental trust - probably the one who speaks.

Motoko · 22/08/2019 20:09

That occurred to me too, but he's in next week's episodes, the presentation is tomorrow, and they only have the regular characters listed for this week.

BoreOfWhabylon · 22/08/2019 21:46

Ah yes Molly, that makes sense.

Although I'm hoping he'll be a previously silent villager who has come up with a brilliant proposal and snatches the prize from under the noses of various entitled Archers Grin

BoreOfWhabylon · 22/08/2019 21:47

ooh Motoko , the plot thickens!

MargueritaBlue · 23/08/2019 00:33

25 Aug Hannah doesn’t mince her words

If the script writers do read this forum I feel responsible for reminding them on the main Archers' thread that they had forgotten Hannah's existence. We don't really need her back.

26 Aug .....Pip’s feelings are hurt

Good.
