Are you following the main TA thread Mushypeasandchipstogo? We’ve discussed Jim extensively in the current (and previous) thread.

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/radio_addicts/3622833-Thread-106-Jim-s-in-a-jam-Peggy-s-made-a-pickle-and-Lexi-is-blooming-sounds-like-the-entries-are-lining-up-for-this-year-s-flower-and-produce-show-but-who-will-be-on-the-organising-committee?msgid=88111724

Anyway - tonight we should know!

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 29/06/2019 14:18

Today's Daily Mail Weekend Magazine
Archers Update June 30 - July 5
Most of us give Greenacres a wide berth, what with Jim’s temper, Alistair’s gloom and Jazzer’s free attitude to decorum. Now, in the fallout from last week’s news, the Greenacre household must find some coping mechanisms.
Best to avoid the place until they do - and, while you’re at it, steer clear of the village shop, where there’s going to be a bit of an incident.
It might also be an idea to swerve away from any gaggle of agricultural Archers as the claws come out over Peggy’s bequest.
Head instead to The Bull, where Lilian is where she should be, perched at the bar, made up to the nines - and about to put her foot in it.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 29/06/2019 19:05

Thanks, Asking!

Mushy chips and peas - mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

MikeUniformMike · 29/06/2019 20:32

An incident at the village shop sounds promising.

Motoko · 03/07/2019 08:42

Blimey, 3 characters "overstepping the mark", 2 "having a change of heart", and 2 "make a shocking discovery". Are they running out of ideas?

Peggy having a change of heart- has she taken on board what Emma said, and is throwing her legacy open to all Ambridge farmers?

Is Clarrie's shocking discovery, finding Joe's passed away in his sleep?

Thanks echt.

echt · 03/07/2019 10:01

Exactly my thought when cutting and pasting this list, Motoko. I thought I'd had senior moment, or several, had to double check the repetition so often. It's a good thing I'm on teachers' ridiculous holidays.:o

Lazy lazy BBC.

Motoko · 03/07/2019 11:38

Ha, I think I checked that list about 4 times, to make sure I hadn't misread it!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 03/07/2019 13:28

Thanks, echt! Looks like Joe, doesn't it. Sad

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 04/07/2019 17:04

I'll add next week's cast and RT teasers to next week's one-liners, so I can keep things straight in my head; Weekend Mail will follow if I happen to see it.

Radio Times 6 - 12 July 2019
Jim is keen to make amends for his actions, but will everyone be ready to forgive & forget? Alistair is feeling the strain following the recent revelations, and, as the stress builds, he looks set to make a terrible mistake.
At Grange Farm, things are looking up for Emma, but Ed is forced to tell a lie when faced with the wrath of Will. And he's not the only one getting angry - more than one Ambridge resident finds themselves at the sharp end of Jazzer's rage. Shula, meanwhile, struggles on the anniversary of Caroline's death until she receives support from an unexpected source. Plus Lilian's party proves to be a real blast, with one guest in particular stealing the show.

I absolutely hate "Jim is keen to make amends for his actions, but will everyone be ready to forgive & forget? "
because I wish they would leave him alone!

Make amends for what, and why? He was abused as a child. Is he now supposed to grovel to the whole village for having been upset when he was reminded of it, or what? Why should he? argh!

QuaterMiss · 04/07/2019 17:10

Fiona back?! Hurrah

And Rex and Toby have been silent for so long I’d almost forgotten them.

Thanks Asking!

Motoko · 04/07/2019 19:30

So, the unexpected visitor at Greenacres is Fiona?

Tom raising a difficult subject, will be telling Pat and Tony that he is going to pitch for Peggy's money.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 06/07/2019 21:40

And it did turn up (eventually):

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update July 7-12
The sound of Lilian’s cackle startles the roosting birds of Ambridge, sending them reeling and cawing into the sky. Their shrieks mingle with the noise of revelry as Lilian’s party gets under way, and Jakob comes to the rescue.
Over at Greenacres, Jim swallows even more humble pie, while Alistair - reeling from recent revelations - hovers on the brink of a disastrous decision, and Jazzer sinks deeper into his own Celtic twilight.
The giant carrot of Peggy’s bequest dangles in front of many an Archer, and Eddie wonders if there might be something in it for him.
Meanwhile, Adam and Ian face another of their many boring crises and, as the clearing up from Lilian’s Knees-up gets under way, Toby makes plans for a birthday bash.

Radio Times Ambridge Diary July 14-19
The atmosphere is still tense at Greenacres, so Alistair implores Jim to tell Fiona the truth about his past trauma. Jim, though, can’t find the words, so it’s left to Alistair to break the news himself. But Fiona’s reaction ends up taking him completely by surprise.
A rare evening out for Clarrie gets cut short when she makes a shocking discovery about one of her sons.
Later in the week, Bev arrives on the doorstep, but what kind of reception will she get from Will?
Finally, Lilian is summoned to The Lodge and heads over to see Peggy, where she finds out that change is coming to the Ambridge Conservation Trust Initiative. Soon, word is spreading around the village.
.
.
.
.
and I hope that means that Fiona surprises everyone by saying wtte "I think we ought to leave Dad alone to work this out in his own way."

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 11/07/2019 16:50

Thanks, Asking! Totally agree with that last point.

MollyButton · 11/07/2019 17:34

I predict Kirsty will win the Ambridge Conservation trust - and I'd love to see Brian's face when she does.

Motoko · 12/07/2019 01:57

So, Peggy opens the trust to everyone?

Thought Clarrie's shocking discovery was going to be Joe, but it's one of the boys. Is it Will taking Poppy out at night? If she's out and about in the late evening, maybe she sees them driving past in the car. Could be why Bev arrives, would Clarrie dob Will in to her? She might, if she thinks it's in Poppy's best interests.

Thanks Asking.

Isatis · 12/07/2019 08:13

Surely Clarrie's discovery is going to be Ed's pesticide stash?

Motoko · 12/07/2019 08:45

It could be, but why, if she's out for the night, would she be furking around a barn. It says it's while she's on a rare night out, that she has a "shocking discovery". That's why I thought of Will, he could drive past her, with Poppy in the car.

And then Bev turning up later in the week, implies that she's come because of Poppy.

echt · 13/07/2019 07:27

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 13/07/2019 07:48

Thanks, Echt! What's Will going to do?

QuaterMiss · 13/07/2019 08:08

Good Lord - the terrible consequences of Wills actions happen on a Friday!Shock And later on Neil needs ‘hope’? Has Will run Susan over on one of his midnight bird jaunts?

Couldn’t bear it if it’s his poor child who’s harmed.

And Ed. How much more ...?

Thanks echt!

Motoko · 13/07/2019 11:16

Certainly seems like a lot of drama will be happening. End of the line for Ed, Linda making the ultimate sacrifice, desperate situations, Will, Neil, Jazzer.

It sounds exhausting. When's the village fete?

Isatis · 13/07/2019 11:59

Oh dear. My guess is that Clarrie does indeed see Poppy with Will, she contacts Bev, when Bev turns up Will (inevitably) jumps to the conclusion that it's because Ed shopped him so returns the compliment. Hence Emmur's humiliation and Ed reaching the end of the line.

I do just wish MeanEd could be allowed just to have some financial security without doing utterly stupid things like going into credit card debt.

Isatis · 13/07/2019 12:00

Spoilers often are massive exaggerations. Lynda making the ultimate sacrifice may be no more than deciding to lend out the shepherd's hut or something.
