I think the family's dark secret reveal will be about Jim/Alastair.
Or some comedy bunting involving dead dogs/drains/yurts. Take your pick :o

Isatis · 14/06/2019 16:46

I suspect Pat's idea and Alice's mischief are all around Adam and Ian's bucket list. This could all get deeply tedious.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 14/06/2019 20:48

Thanks, Asking!

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 20/06/2019 17:09

Radio Times 22 - 28 June 2019
The grievances at Greenacres continue to be felt, especially now that Jim has returned from his trip. Alistair's hopes that he can alleviate tensions are quickly dashed, while Jazzer's attempts to do the right thing go badly wrong when Jim makes another surprising decision.

Shula is feeling guilty for her role in recent events, but will she be able to heal a terrible rift before it's too late? Ed & Emma are thrilled when a contact they made at the Three Counties Show expresses an interest in buying the ram - not that this news will go down well with one particular Grundy. Plus a dark secret is revealed, the impact of which means that life in one household will never be the same again....

MikeUniformMike · 20/06/2019 17:54

Thanks for the spoilers Asking.
I wonder when Clarrie will move into 1. The Green, because I thought that Joe would end his days at Grange Farm.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 22/06/2019 14:36

And as a bonus, I have been given

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update June 23-28
You might want to clear your diaries so you can get to this year’s summer fête. Ben and Ruairi are on the organising committee and have a cunning plan that will make the event something that Ambridge will never forget - a bit like Jim’s birthday.
Memories of that fiasco are failing to fade and, when Jim returns from his trip, any attempt to pour oil on troubled waters just makes thing worse.
There’s a fair old bit of seething and boiling at Bridge Farm when Pat’s latest wheeze fails to win hearts and minds, but the hope of turning the confusingly named ram Peppa Pig into hard cash brings a ray of sunshine into Grundyland.
Meanwhile, under another Ambridge roof, a dark secret emerges.

(spelling errors corrected)

Motoko · 23/06/2019 09:07

Hmm, I thought the dark secret was about Jim, and the reason for him fleeing from the party, such as one of the guests (the man in the wheelchair?) being Alistair's biological father, but they already mentioned Jim, so "Meanwhile, under another Ambridge roof, a dark secret emerges." this makes it sound like it's elsewhere, another family.

MikeUniformMike · 23/06/2019 13:29

I think Chris Carter might be having an affair.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 23/06/2019 17:11

Or it's yet another Natashism.

BeardieWeirdies · 23/06/2019 22:52

Natashtrophe!

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 24/06/2019 01:45

Love it!

TherapistInATabard · 24/06/2019 16:49

Could it be Will's dark secret? Dark in the nighttime sense Hmm

MikeUniformMike · 24/06/2019 20:08

It could...
Or Ed's.
It might even be the bunting thief.

Motoko · 25/06/2019 01:04

Will's dark secret, that he's taking Poppy out at night? Well, it could lead to him losing custody of her, which would change his family's life, but I get the impression that it's something bigger than that, although I've no idea what it could be, other than Alistair finding out Jim's not his bio dad.

I haven't been listening to TA long enough to hypothesise about anything else.

BoreOfWhabylon · 25/06/2019 19:50

No, the dark secret will be re Jim/Harold. Smugula will track down Harold this week.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 25/06/2019 21:03

Maybe she'll ask Fiona for help? That's what I'd do.

GeorgeTheBleeder · 26/06/2019 09:42

So it does look as if the revelation will be Jim’s.

Motoko · 26/06/2019 14:48

Yes, I agree, it'll be the reason for Jim's behaviour since the party. Whatever it is, it's something that Jim has had buried for years, and wanted it to stay that way. Now it's been brought out into the light, he's become traumatised by it all over again.

I don't know why Fiona hasn't been back. Surely if your parent had been acting like this, you'd want to find out why, and wouldn't just leave your sibling to give you updates? Especially as Alistair doesn't seem to be interested in finding out the cause.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 26/06/2019 21:09

I don't think Fiona actually knows Jim has been "behaving like this"; I think it's just par for the course for Jim as far as she is concerned, so she is neither surprised nor worried by it.

After she is told, by a concerned Alistair, that he thinks Jim may finally after all these years of behaving badly have lost it completely, she'll come back to try to sort it out.

Since she is an academic, maybe after term ends? It's got to be a busy time at universities at the moment. So she might not be back until July, or come back only for a day.

Radio Times Ambridge Diary June 30-July 5
Ed and Emma are continuing to save hard ahead of their move to Beechwood, but are soon facing fresh trouble. By the week’s end, an exhausted Ed is in hot water with Tim, while Emma finds herself in a dangerous position.
Peggy’s Ambridge Conservation Trust is the talk of the village as Adam and others get excited about the possibilities the money could open up. But the bubble soon bursts and Peggy learns that her scheme isn’t to everyone’s liking.
There’s a frost warning, too, for Bridge Farm, where newlyweds Tom and Natasha face another challenge, this time to do their postnuptial agreement.
Plus, Ben is confident ahead of his driving test. But can he pass first time?

QuaterMiss · 27/06/2019 13:25

Hmm ... Jim’s in the cast list so presumably won’t have committed suicide by Sunday. But maybe he attempts it?

Thanks Asking!

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 27/06/2019 17:45

I don't think he's suicidal; I think he is furious. We just don't know what he is furious about.

Motoko · 27/06/2019 22:15

Who lives at Greenacres? Is it Jim and Al? I get mixed up with who lives where.

Will Emma's "dangerous situation" involve Tim?

QuaterMiss · 27/06/2019 22:20

Yes. (It’s Jim’s home. Jazzer is his lodger. Alistair less than that.)

Yes.

Mushypeasandchipstogo · 27/06/2019 22:25

I think the man in the wheelchair is Alistair’s real father. That is why Jim is so off with him.
