Or her intention to move Leonard in to Home Farm

BoreOfWhabylon · 02/06/2019 15:30

Liberty and Leonard both wandering around in dressing gowns in the morning Grin

GeorgeTheBleeder · 02/06/2019 16:00

That would be very cosy ...

Radio Times 8 - 14 June 2019
Well, Jim's tribute night was a disaster and we're feeling the fallout. Alistair is mortified that the evening went so badly and attempts to apologise. But Jim refuses to be cheered - and one innocent villager will find themselves getting gashed on the end of his sharp tongue.
Peggy's family are disconcerted by a mysterious invitation, but Lilian is hurt to be left out in the cold. Determined to find out what's going on, she gate-crashes the evening, but will she and her relatives be prepared for the bombshell their mother is about to drop?
We also have the prospect of the Open Farm Sunday, with Natasha taking charge at Bridge Farm. Plus Ruairi has a fiendish idea that quickly gets out of hand...

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 06/06/2019 16:22

Some promising stuff there! Thanks, Asking.

Isatis · 06/06/2019 18:07

Is this going to be yet another of Peggy's announcements about her will?

LizziesTwin · 07/06/2019 06:22

I’ve just listened to the last two episodes and skimmed back to the preview of tonight’s episode. Oh dear! I don’t think I can cope with things being worse for Ed or the party being a flop. I have children doing A levels & finals & need happiness in the Archers. A fallen sponge cake would be sufficient level of tragedy for me.

GeorgeTheBleeder · 07/06/2019 07:19

A levels & finals? Oh, you poor thing!

Thanks Asking for your sterling work. (Although more Stirling activity would have saved a peck of trouble.)

What can Peggy be up to that necessitates the exclusion of her lovely daughter? If it really is more inheritance business - why would she leave Lillian out? Or a domestic move - why would Lilian be more put out than the others?

Adjoa Andoh sounded like Hollywood come to the small screen yesterday! Wonderful - but her presence really emphasised the woefully basic script (possibly inevitable with only 12 and a half minutes to deliver the story) and obvious reading aloud of the rest of the cast.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 08/06/2019 06:50

Thanks, Echt! Looking forward to a meltdown on 28th.

BoreOfWhabylon · 08/06/2019 09:01

I'm hoping Peggy is going to announce that she is liquidating her assets and buying a place on that massive luxury ship that sails around the world with it's permanent residents.

It also looks like the Ambridge Career Fairy will be bestowing gifts upon Kirsty (about time too) and Jim is going to throw Alistair and/or Jazzer out. If it's Alistair I fully expect him to take up permanent temporary residence with Smugs again.

Motoko · 08/06/2019 10:31

Pat having to broach a difficult subject? That's got to be either with Tom and/or Gnasher. About how much money she's spending? And Gnasher will be why Tom attempts to bury his own ambitions.

Good news for Ed and Em, must be that the house is ready. It may be good news know, but their good luck isn't likely to last long.

I wonder if Peggy is planning on moving into the Laurels?

All the stuff with Jim and Al, and Shula, will be because of the "not party", leading Shula to wring her hands over that. was it her idea? I don't remember who came up with it.

Is the dark secret whatever caused Jim to flee from the party?

Looks like it's all go that week.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 08/06/2019 16:02

I do have this weekend's Mail spoiler, though it doesn't add much:

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update June 9-14
Those of us who were present at Jim’s tribute night will spend many a happy hour dwelling on the whole sorry fiasco. The ructions echo around the village, drowning out the news that the great bunting mystery is solved and muffling an explosion from the bombshell dropped by Peggy into her already fractious family.
More squeals and cries can be heard - even from the top of Lakey Hill - as Pat,Susan and the unsuitably dressed Lilian form a posse to round up some weaners.
The clear and authoritative tones of Natasha sound out as she abandons giving the Bridge Farm livestock a make-over and takes charge of Open Farm Sunday.
Meanwhile, Adam, making the most of his last few unbroken nights, prepares the nursery and waits.

thislido · 10/06/2019 01:15

Thanks Asking.

I suppose June Spencer might want to retire.

GeorgeTheBleeder · 10/06/2019 03:39

Grin Love the thought of June Spencer as herself announcing at an Archer/Aldridge family meeting that she’s had enough and refuses to play Peggy for a moment longer!

“Now, anyone for another fondant fancy?”

Isatis · 10/06/2019 08:04

I don't really care who took the bunting, but I don't see how they can claim the mystery is solved just because Harrison has discovered who it is who has been putting bits around the village.

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 10/06/2019 09:57

I may have missed something, but I still don't quite see where Tilly Button fits in to this riveting bunting saga Confused

Motoko · 10/06/2019 09:58

That's what I was thinking Isatis. The only mystery solved is that Jim's been playing with Harrison. We still have no idea who actually stole it, and that's the most important thing, because other stuff has been stolen around the village, so there's still a thief about.

Isatis · 10/06/2019 17:10

Tilly Button found the bunting. Quite why she felt it necessary to tell Jim about it has not, so far as I know, ever been explained. It's incredibly clunky.

Motoko · 10/06/2019 17:55

I think she told Jazzer, and he told Jim, because he was complaining to Jim that he has to keep bribing her with cigarettes to keep quiet about it.

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 11/06/2019 00:04

Bunting aside, there is still the burning question of who stole the eggs and the underpants Hmm

GeorgeTheBleeder · 11/06/2019 07:59

I'm hoping Peggy is going to announce that she is liquidating her assets and buying a place on that massive luxury ship that sails around the world with it's permanent residents.

Given what June Spencer has just said on Today (at 7.45) about Peggy becoming more fun, I have a feeling a round the world trip might well be on the cards. Particularly remembering how scathing Adam was about what his 99 year old grandmother might find entertaining. Grin

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 13/06/2019 20:03

I could have sworn I posted these earlier but they seem to have disappeared so I can't have done. Next week, without the weekend Mail spoilers:

Radio Times Ambridge Diary June 16-21
The fallout from Peggy’s announcement continues, with a raging Tony determined to make his mother see sense. Lilian, though, is wondering whether they should just let Peggy get on with it. Tom, meanwhile, also has a different view to his father, but will he risk Tony’s wrath by exploring it?
Tom and Natasha’s housewarming party is a wild affair, but what secrets will Alice and Pip discover when they snoop in their hosts’ bedroom? Shula receives upsetting news, but will Alistair come into his own as he deals with the situation? A tempting new opportunity is coming Kirsty’s way. Plus Adam and Ian face another pre-natal challenge - but this time, it’s Ian who’s the one left struggling.

Motoko · 13/06/2019 21:14

Thanks Asking. Why on earth are Alice and Pip snooping in Tom and Gnasher's bedroom? How rude! Do they find Gnasher's credit card bills? Or bags of brand new stuff, still with the labels on, and unpackaged, stashed away in carrier bags in Gnasher's wardrobe?

Motoko · 13/06/2019 21:25

It's unlikely to be sex toys.
