Discuss The Archers here, the long-running thread series started by PseudoBadger. Maybe my puns will tempt her back to take the reigns?

I think Sleeping Beauty references can wait until the next thread which will probably cover much of December.

Lurkers de-lurk! New to The Archers? you're welcome here; the friendly crowd will answer your questions.

Most restaurants round this way have had their Christmas menus settled by the end of summer, which is when they start telling you it's where you should be booking

I find it very difficult to believe that there is any office or department or club or group or family which intends to go out for a Christmas meal and has not already booked it.

R4 · 29/11/2017 10:10

I find it very difficult when they tell us that they carefully research topics like agriculture, DV or fraud ... and then they throw in nonsense like this.

dorislessingscat · 29/11/2017 19:09

Why are Ruth and David so insistent that Pip moves home? She's an adult and she's living 5 minutes away at her aunt's house?

Trailedanderror · 29/11/2017 19:21

I wonder if Pip is pregnant. Tired, grumpy, backtracking over getting back under her parents thumb...

BertrandRussell · 29/11/2017 19:22

I so hate sympathising with Pip!

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 29/11/2017 20:00

Why are Ruth and David so insistent that Pip moves home? She's an adult and she's living 5 minutes away at her aunt's house?

Goodness knows. It is yet another absurd storyline.

I so hate sympathising with Pip!

What did you find to sympathise with other than her awful parents?

BertrandRussell · 29/11/2017 20:15

"What did you find to sympathise with other than her awful parents?"
It was only tonight when David was being so needy! Heaven knows I feel exactly the same about my adult dd- but wild horses wouldn't drag it out of me!

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 29/11/2017 20:41

David and Ruth are weird. I would like my adult son to move back to the same city I'm in , which I think he will eventually, but not to this house.

Imbroglio · 29/11/2017 22:35

Totally agree. Pip has a fabulous billet with family, where she is looked after and where she is appreciated.

If she moves back to rickyard Ruth will crack someone's ribs with all the nudging and winking every time Alfie comes within a mile.

Vango · 29/11/2017 22:52

Is Alfie real? By that I mean is Pip actually seeing him or is she using his name to cover her dates with Toby? I got the feeling that she didn't want another dinner invitation extended because D & R would find out that Pip hadn't been meeting him at all? I'm behind with Pip's adventures. Missed a few episodes last week.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 29/11/2017 22:53

Alfie is real but we haven't met him.

mermaidsandunicorns · 29/11/2017 22:59

Pip is either diabetic or up the duff

C8H10N4O2 · 29/11/2017 23:15

Have we had a diabetic on TA yet? If it is that I'm looking forward to seeing how the magic healing fairy fixes that one. After arthritis and epilepsy I'm sure it can be cured in magical Borsetshire.

I was thinking tonight that Pip, Ruth and David all deserve each other. Pip does not appreciate how lucky she is living with Elizabeth and getting the best of both worlds.

I'd love to have my grown up children nearby, loved having them home for periods between moves. However there is a point at which the same house would need to be Kensington Palace with private apartments. Now that might be quite nice :)

TheAntiBoop · 29/11/2017 23:25

Diabetic or pregnant - can she die either way?

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 30/11/2017 01:07

AntiBoop Bit harsh? (as my grown up boy regularly says to me)

Alleycat1 · 30/11/2017 05:30

C8H I feel exactly the same about Alice. She was the best of the Archer clan's younger generation and the SWs have turned her into a fool.

Bekabeech · 30/11/2017 07:26

Walter Gabriel was diabetic, not miraculously cured but it didn't seem to affect him too much.

Bekabeech · 30/11/2017 07:27

Oh and re: Kensington Palace - I quite like the idea of cottages in the grounds.

BoreOfWhabylon · 30/11/2017 07:41

Up the duff and not knowing whether Toebee or Alfiee is the father. This will really mess with David's head as he has to face the fact that Golden Girl is a bit of a goer.

Or diabetic. D & R will kidnap her and wall her up in her room for safety's sake. Pip will direct farm operations from a chaise longue for the next half-century.

Or pregnant AND diabetic.

Imbroglio · 30/11/2017 07:49

Surely Alfie hasn't been around long enough.

And since we haven't met him i don't think he's long for Ambridge.

TheAntiBoop · 30/11/2017 08:43

My listening experience would be vastly improved by pip being killed off

How about - she is pregnant with Tobys child - dies in childbirth and the dopeys have to put up with Toby forever

NewPantsforaNewYear · 30/11/2017 08:45

But we just had an is she/isn’t she preganant storyline with Phoebe.
Let’s not have another.

birdsdestiny · 30/11/2017 09:37

There is definitely something odd about Alfie.

DadDadDad · 30/11/2017 10:45

I've just realised we're close to filling this thread. Any suggestions for titles for the next one, given it will take us through to Christmas. (Unless the Justin / Lil wedding does what the Kirsty / Tom wedding did in generating a legendary 329 posts in 24 hours. Shock )

No suggestions but just wanted to add a belated BOOP for the Nolly/Freddy episode from earlier in the week - just catching up.
