Nic went home early. She probably told Will about Matt's behaviour at The Bull. Will, spurred on by current stories about powerful men harassing vulnerable women, went looking for him.
So it was Will; in an already-battered Land Rover so the dent won't show; in a dark country lane.

Is there anyone we haven't accused yet? Jill? Peggy?

Sorry, I'm gatecrashing this thread, but am a long term on and off Archers listener have been listening since approximately 1980 so remember things like Shula and her first dh Mark arguing about what colour towels they wanted on their wedding list

So he was found in a hedge , did the sound effects dept. get their hedge and river sounds mixed up? Or was it meant to be in a country lane hedge by the River Am?

I'm considering the end of year awards ceremony. For the Archers.

Nominations for most mind numbingly irritating character and the most mind numbingly irritating storyline.

The return of unidimensional, nasty "Tiger" is currently my front runner for tedious story.

One thing that clanged for me, Lillian's concern over Justin leaving 'I could have driven you darling' then complaining of a bad head, presumably drink induced, in the next breath. Is the Archers promoting drink driving now? Justin was complaining of a bad head too but presumably that was his migraine?

Hmm ... Uselessly I can't seem to devise a title. But I'm sure 'Sleeping Beauty' (or a variation thereof), 'Froli fungi' and erm ... 'lexicography' could be meaningfully combined ...

Lily was at the Hunt Ball - Justin told Lillian that Lily had asked him to dance. So she could have been driving home. But surely Lily would stop and organise emergency services, supervise the paramedics, contact people and generally take charge?

I can't devise a title either. But I have managed this little ditty:

No, I don't believe Justin had a migraine. He left the ball in order to go and confront Matt at the Bull. Either he then left the Bull and ran Matt over, or he left the Bull, failed to find Matt and drove home, feeling too angry/emotional to return to the ball and face Lilian. Either way, I think the migraine was an excuse for why he left the ball and didn't return.

That's good R4 but, forgive my ignorance, what is "misandry?"

Why didn't Justin tell Lillian that he'd gone to the Bull? Other people saw him there; he spoke to Kenton. Was Tom still there when Justin arrived?It's going to be common knowledge soon.

Lillian will be upset, but she's going to find out anyway, and Justin would be wise to get his version in first.

Or the last two lines could be

Also, even if Nic had gone before Justin arrived, she knew Matt was there and will chat about it on her next shift. Nic will tell Emma, Emma will tell Susan.....

Well if he's in a wheelchair with very little left of the old Matt , Lil will be terribly punished for being back with him. She thought Justin was boring! She'll be 'caring' for him.

Have we accused Alice yet? Though Chris seems level-headed and l’d expect him to stop any drink driving impulses. It would certainly put the Cat amongst the pigeons chez Jenny though with her personality transplant she’d probably just shrug and say something utterly vacuous.

Sorry, now I’ve read the thread l see Alice was suggested already. I agree Justin didn’t have a migraine. He and Adam both had time to clean Matt’s blood off their cars before their partners came back - but l don’t think it was them. I do like the suggestion above that Justin came along after the accident, saw Matt but did nothing.
