Archers spoilers or Archers spoiled? You decide. Thread the Second

And so it continues. We still have one long-term prediction from the start of the last thread that has not yet come to pass - the burning down of Lower Loxley.

But there is still time...

AugustaFinkNottle · 01/06/2016 20:04

A thought arising from the main thread: might the recording referred to by Keri Davies be a recording by the prison authorities of some sort of threat made to Helen by Knob?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 02/06/2016 11:15

Could somebody point me in the direction of what Keri said, please?

Gumpendorf · 02/06/2016 11:32

Gasp:

Archers spoilers or Archers spoiled? You decide. Thread the Second
Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 02/06/2016 11:40

Aha! Thanks, Gumpendorf. I think I had seen that before but had forgotten about it. Odd. I do so hope it's a recording of Helen and Rob and Helen talking it through.

Gumpendorf · 02/06/2016 11:53

I noticed Keri said 'himself'.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 02/06/2016 12:55

Doh! Of course he did. Odd, because I can't imagine how it could be Rob.

Gumpendorf · 02/06/2016 22:21

Rob isn't in the cast list for next week. I wonder if it's Bert or TRex and something to do with garden promotion.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 02/06/2016 22:29

Oh God, it's probably Toby talking over his video. How utterly pointless.

Gruach · 03/06/2016 00:19

Ah. Yes. That would make sense Gasp0.

Although I'm sure KD also said that the double talking was part of something that would probably never be used/needed ... Would that still be Toby Trouble? How boring if so. I had hoped it would be some crucial turning point in an exciting plot ...

KingscoteStaff · 03/06/2016 06:52

I think 'extra scene' was a separate incident to the 'talking over himself' scene:

keridavies ‏@keridavies May 6
This Friday evening, I am unexpectedly writing a scene which has to be written but which will probably never be heard on air. #TheArchers

keridavies ‏@keridavies May 6
Will explain all re additional scene when I can, but it’s several weeks away yet. #TheArchers

keridavies ‏@keridavies May 7
@adesmith1972 Early June.

Gruach · 03/06/2016 07:53

Ah, again. So the extra scene - previously I wondered if it might be Brexit-y. But now we've heard about the SOC trial shenanigans I suppose it must be that.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 03/06/2016 10:04

I think the extra scene is to cover the (I hope) remote possibility that HMQ or PP die before HMQ's official 90th birthday, which is this weekend (or next?). This is speculation, but he said it was something that would only be needed in early June if it was needed at all, which it probably wouldn't be, and the timing fits.

Gruach · 03/06/2016 10:09

That's an interesting thought.

But then, surely it would be in rather poor taste for KD to discuss it soon afterwards? In a sort of "Phew!" tone. Confused

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 03/06/2016 10:42

I was a veteran of the BBC's TA messageboard. KD was the host there for many years and remained involved even after he stepped down from the role. He is a good SW but I do have the impression that he is not backward at coming forwards, as my mum would say. He posts prolifically on Twitter and I doubt he would worry too much about tone in that instance. Self-congratulatory is a word that comes to mind when reading some of his tweets... Grin

BoreOfWhabylon · 03/06/2016 12:00

I agree, Gasp0

Do you remember how Keri likened the messageboard to being at a dinner-party, in terms of expected standards of discourse/behaviour? [eyerollthingy]

I wonder how Keri and SOC get on? Grin

OP posts:
Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 03/06/2016 12:09

Oh yes! [eyerollthingy] exactly right.

AugustaFinkNottle · 06/06/2016 14:15

More summaries -

Sunday 20 June - Helen takes a call, and Rex goes in search of answers.
21 June - Kate needs some help, and Clarrie susses out Joe.
22 June - Roy has had enough, and Pip will not be pinned down.
23 June - It is time for Josh to face the music, and Pip quizzes Alice.
24 June - Pat and Tony have a difficult evening, and Neil makes a decision.

Casts include a Kaz and a Juliette Carson.

Alice! I'd nearly forgotten she existed.

AugustaFinkNottle · 06/06/2016 14:15

Oh, and Carol reappears also.

Gumpendorf · 07/06/2016 10:22

Thanks Augusta. So we now know about Kaz Archers

Radio Times for 11-17 June 2016

'Ambridge turns out for a weekend of events to celebrate the Queen's 90th - the centrepiece, at least in Lynda's eyes, being the unveiling of her 'Resurgam' garden. Surely Eddie deserves special mention for overcpming Lynda's criticisms of the shepherd's hut he made.

Rob is at his revolting, bullying worst when he turns up unannounced at Bridge Farm with a proposition. Pat bristles at his brass neck, her anger increasing when she sees in picture in Borsetshire Echo. But Tony feels that a bit of cooperation would serve them well, especially with the custody hearing fast approaching.

And finally Oliver and Caroline are due back at Grange Farm, and Emma is busy with a frantic clear up job.'

Yay for Oli and Caro. Why is Emma doing the clearing up?

And WTF Tony? Will anyone ever connect Rob's temper with other incidents of Rob's temper and join the dots to the stabbing. FFS.

Gumpendorf · 07/06/2016 10:25

Keri D has said the scene he had to write 'just in case' was the EU elections scene. Confused

The actor who was unavailable at the last minute was Wayne and he substituted the scenes with Will (good move, Keri).

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 07/06/2016 20:50

Thanks, all!

TOTAL TV GUIDE 11 - 17 JUNE 2016

Pat bristles when Rob turns up at Bridge Farm with a suggestion.

Tony insists they acquiesce as it could help their custody bid.

Helen adjusts to life with the new baby.

It's crunch time for Lynda as her garden opens as part of the Queen's 90th birthday celebrations, though she's distracted by unexpected news.

There's a last minute disaster at Grange Farm.

With Oliver and Caroline due home, Emma and Clarrie do their best to clear the mess up, but will it be enough?

Jennifer asked Kate and Lillian to look after Phoebe while she's away.

Toby invites Pip for dinner, but can Rex compete?
**

Re the Fairbrethren - I couldn't care less what happens there unless they sweep Pip and take her off to Brighton to live in a menage a trois and never be heard in Ambridge again (any of them).

AugustaFinkNottle · 07/06/2016 20:55

If Knob's suggestion is that he starts working in the shop again and Tony is bloody stupid enough to go along with it, I may not be responsible for my actions.

BlackeyedSusan · 09/06/2016 20:09

excellent. I have booked the children onto the library computers on monday. I shall try not to be in the car at 7. either home beofre or home afterwards. it would be too dangerous to be listening and driving.

forewarned is forearmed as they say.

enochroot · 10/06/2016 09:49

My guess is that he'll promise them more time with Henry if they persuade Helen to grant him visits to the new baby.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 10/06/2016 11:21

In a way I hope you're right, enochroot. Horrible though it is to think of him having any time with the baby at all, it's somehow less horrible than hearing Pat and Tony feebly resisting his demand to start working at the shop again or to think of Henry having so little time with Helen's family.
