Sorry but I couldn't resist an opportunity for puns galore Grin

I'd be a woman from the National Lottery who turns up to present Clarrie with a cheque for several million £s - enough to buy Grange Farm back from Ollie Foxbreath.

LillianGish · 25/09/2015 17:15

I'd be Ruth's never-before-mentioned sister who would step into the breach and put an end to all the HP nonsense.

ppeatfruit · 25/09/2015 17:17

I'd be the health nutritionist who joins the new alternative centre that Kate is going to open Grin.

PseudoBadger · 25/09/2015 17:29

I'll be Henry's social worker.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 25/09/2015 18:15

I am.going to be the benefits advisor.

And also coincidentally a convoluted relative of the Brokefield archers who repeatedly says "don't be ridiculous that never going to happen" and "I don't believe it" to anything they propose. I will be played by Richard wilson.

Gruach · 25/09/2015 18:18

Ruth does have an Aunt Rose. No one was able to tell me if she is a maternal or paternal aunt. But her absence from Heather's bedside has not gone unnoticed.

R4 · 25/09/2015 18:30

I'll be The Commuter who isn't related to, nor employed by, anyone in the village. I may have Emma Bridgewater crockery on my welsh dresser.

enochroot · 25/09/2015 18:36

I'll be Rob's psychiatrist.

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 25/09/2015 19:05

I was hoping the "disaster" at Glebe Cottage would be the mysterious death of Hester in the night, revealing Carol as some kind of octogenarian serial killer.

Toomuchtea · 25/09/2015 19:19

I think Hester had Jennifer pinned down to a T. As indeed did Carol.

LyndaNotLinda · 25/09/2015 19:32

I enjoyed that. For once Eleanor Bron was allowed to actually act. Plus it's put a full stop on that stupid SL.

Back to more interesting things please SOC!

Primadonnagirl · 25/09/2015 19:33

I'm going to be the drug dealer that ruins Pip. Turns her from Official Saviour of Everything into Amy Winehouse.. " They tried to make me go to Ambridge but I said No, No, No"

Northernlurker · 25/09/2015 19:37

Eleanor Bron has the most beautiful voice.

Hopefully there's little chance of Hester remembering to ever return so that's that.

Living at Lower Loxley sounds rather odd. Most people who run their own business don't treat it as their personal hospitality suite. Every free flapjack and lasagne consumed by the lady of the manor and her brats is less money through the till. I doubt her trustees would embrace that way of going on.

R4 · 25/09/2015 19:40

After last week's GG meeting and the hurrah for the elder women, why have we reverted to Jill (age 85) being a twittery mess and JD (age 70) acting like a guilty teenager. That was painful listening.

And why did JD accept Carol's "anyone would have done the same". She appointed her self as judge, jury and executioner! Didn't John pen something to say that he was afraid of Carol bumping him off - has JD forgotten that? And Hester seemed to think that he was fine, too.

EBearhug · 25/09/2015 20:24

Just checking in.

I have been on a course for a couple of days. One of the other people lives in Hanbury. I was quite restrained in not saying, "Isn't that where Ambridge is meant to be?"

LillianGish · 25/09/2015 22:05

All good points R4 - though glad to see the end of the tedious mercy killing story. Feel sorry for Jill, but also slightly irritated by the complete unnecessaryness of it all. Is HP really arriving on Monday? I'd better brace myself for her comedy northerner routine.

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 25/09/2015 22:28

This is from a thread on here where there is an issue over whether the ex's GF is trying to get full custody, posted by somebody who seems to have pretty good knowledge of the law.

he can do that, take him and say he's not handing him back and actually as he has PR that is not against the law. Having taken advice on this myself due to my hideous situation, I was told that if that were to happen, I should inform husband that I am coming to collect DS and that I should ask the police to attend to prevent a breach of the peace. On some occasions the police will go and ask the parent to return the child. Worst case scenario, an emergency hearing which can take place even late on a Sunday night ordering the return of the child. I hate that any child is put in positions like this

which suggests that once Rob gets PR (if it gets that far) he could actually take Henry away Shock

TooLateAlready · 25/09/2015 23:19

gruach the legal details are not important - believe me Smile

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 26/09/2015 01:23

Yes he can. If they split he can apply for access, shared custody etc. He can refuse to return him although he cannot leave the country and technically Helen can also block medical appt. And schools etc if he does.
However, had Ethan been Rob's child he would have had PR as he is on bc (wonder if that will get changed ...overinfested). But despite the fact that he would have had responsibility Jess would have been unable to make Rob spend anytime with him or look after him in any way. Its a total bollocks to call in responsibility when what they mean is veto. (Bothered? Yup just a bit)

Eastpoint · 26/09/2015 07:42

I've been avoiding the thread & listening as the tension & unpleasantness of Rob stop me enjoying TA. I've caught up with the threads now but I think I might not listen until the whole Hel/Rob storyline is resolved.

Joskar · 26/09/2015 09:09

Carol killed John then. Is that an end to it?

Will Jill just sit around watching Cash in the Attic now? Maybe she could get some bees at LL?

Gruach · 26/09/2015 09:29

Allotments. Nigel and allotments ...

I imagined it didn't I?

LillianGish · 26/09/2015 10:01

nicestsmile that's very interesting. Going down that route would allow SOC to ramp up the drama to EE proportions before Knob is finally unmasked while an adoption check would nip things in the bud.

campion · 26/09/2015 10:53

HP will be at Brookfield a fortnight, tops. Ruth will whine away in her martyred style until HP either croaks suddenly, or decides the care home option ain't so bad after all.

Meanwhile, Jill realises she was being exploited by D&R and that LL life is just fine, thanks. The writing desk is staying put.

AnnieNoMouse · 26/09/2015 11:56

After D and R's emotional farewell a couple of weeks ago I still think there is a possibility that exhausted (I think that may have been mentioned once or twice …) Ruth will crash the car while bringing HP down. Ruth will die and the Archers will be lumbered with HP.
