oh and Daniel has a chesty cough now and high temp. So he has cuddled up all day and hardly moved. He did not like the sling for long and it came off. His arm is positively dangling and he will not move it at all. Going to wait till tomorrow and take him back if no change.

maxybrown · 11/06/2010 20:07

ooh Basl, does not sound right about his arm poor thing. Is it hot at all?

Ah I get the goat thing now

Oh and HMG yes that was fab about Janey she was lovely.

My poor Granma today seemed really sad I hate that home, it STAMK of wee today - really stale wee, not even wee covered by disinfectant, just wee. the women there are pants, I want to wheel her away when we go

OP posts:
basl · 11/06/2010 20:16

for your grandma maxy. Did she not have anything much to say today then. Not nice places are they and you always walk away feeling guilty but it would be so hard to care for someone at home in your Granma's condition.

My gran kept thinking someone was stealing from her when she was in a home. So sad really it is. Did you tell her about the snake?

He is hot all over today maxy with his bad cough so hard to tell. He went to wash his hands after lunch and the wee soul put only one hand in the sink and then one hand dried. He has been adorable today just lying in my arms but rather have the old daniel back any day

carrielou2007 · 11/06/2010 20:28

Evening

Basl hope Daniel is feeling a wee bit better

Maxy if only I lived closer I could have got the snake for you, I love snakes I'll try to send a pic of dd and I with a 6 foot python around my nexk I think they are fab! I do loads of house calls to homes, some are fab and others just smell of wee ad no-one gives a whot-not . I've seen some of my patients really age when they have moved and other perk up a treat, it is very

I have a huge huge pile of ironing to do and whilst I like ironing I just don't fancy it tonight. Ds has no hope of going to bed so I am just letting him roll around the rug, dribbling and playing with his toys until he finally gives in

basl · 11/06/2010 20:38

Don't iron Carrie do it tomorrow. Does your ds sleep alot during the day? Olivia was a nightmare got her day and night mixed up until i Gina Ford her [Don't know if that name is allowed] and it worked like a miracle. She loved routine and everyone could not believe how well she slept. Daniel will not allow Gina in this house. It's his way and his way only but he is good at going to bed.

maxybrown · 11/06/2010 20:38

NO she didn't I think the home is crap, but my mum is really torn I know. They never seemed cared for IMO - I KNow it's a hard job, I know it's demanding and poor pay - BUT it costs nothing to actually give a damn does it? i thought my Grandma smelt of wee today but I realised it was the woman behind her - but not fresh wee, it was dried in wee without a doubt

I did tell her about the snake - I told her all sorts, obvoiusly she won't remember any of it but that doesn't matter. I took her some hair brushes today as all of hers have disappeared. The staff are so loud and common, it is just a free for all. She has lost her spark that's for sure.

Oh what a shame you are so far away carrielou for the snake. One of the lab technicians at Matthews school is gpoing to take it and keep it at the school as they have the set up already so that's good!

OP posts:
maxybrown · 11/06/2010 20:43

Basl, James is like that, but he's an angel really. We were so chuffed to have him we couldn't bear to put him upstairs in that big old rented house we were in so he always stayed with us but he is so independant anyhow, so that's good! I thought it was just me but Matthew said he didn't want him upsatirs all by himself so that was that lol! Then we sold the bnib baby monitor

5inthebackofthenet · 11/06/2010 20:47

Evening everyone

I knew what you meant Basl, when you said about the goat.

Eek a snake! I actually don't mind snakes, growing up in SA I saw a few snakes, scorpions and loads of lizards. What you going to do with it Maxy? Make sure it doesn't eat your hedgehog

basl · 11/06/2010 20:49

Olivia still appears most nights for a cuddle at around 3am and it is so nice i can't refuse until she starts with the sleeping sidyways and toes up my nose then she is frog marched to her room. Daniel been in his own room very early on and slept much better in his cot. He hated his crib and likes the space in his cot. He does not like in our bed but always jumps in under the covers for his bed time story.

That is awfull about the home maxy. It is such a hard thing to watch. My Auntie is in social services and always complaining about my gran's care. If i win the lotto your gran will get a share promise

FlyMeToDunoon · 11/06/2010 21:05

Basl have you investigated Air Buggies? I saw one today and they are very narrow. The wheels only look like 10 inch though. There are some on ebay.
I saw a red P&T classic today in the second hand shop for £125. I amn't familiar with the classic but thought it could be a bargain.
Oh and evening all

basl · 11/06/2010 21:09

Evening Flym yes i have indeed but not good reviews if i remember reading somewhere. Phil & ted would be good. Buggnuts has one as a single and loves it more than the mb urban and swift. That would be a bargain. What are you like Mrs for finding bargain pushchairs. Maybe we could do that on our meet up. Go were your nose for bargains takes us I have to say i am loving your hunt for a three wheeler. Find it almost as exciting as me getting another x

carrielou2007 · 11/06/2010 21:16

We love Gina Ford in this house

Dd was nightmare until at 12 weeks I routined her and she was like a different baby, followed it like a dream apart from she only every had 40 mins lunchtime sleep and never slept through until 11 months. Ds has been so easy up until now but he just won't go to bed at 7/7.30pm! He wakes at 5/5.30am starving goes back to sleep so I then wake him at 7am for a feed to get him back on track. 20/30 min morning sleep, big sleep 12-2pm ish sometimes a late catnap but mostly not.

FMTD when I saw the MB swift it just looked exactly the same as phil and teds just with smaller wheels. I love three wheelers, my MB was picked up today to should be with me monday except I am out all day on a monday

We can't meet up yet, I haven't lost enough weight and am still very blooby and lumpy

basl · 11/06/2010 21:21

I am going to be 40 in december so we could maybe plan something for that. It could be my birthday pressi a wee trip away on my own. Yeee haaa

Carrie did you think the pull back the draw sheet bit is hillarious and the bit when she says now mum have a cup of tea and some lunch, That book was like my bible and i almost spoke to it saying "Ok Gina the kettle is on"

basl · 11/06/2010 21:25

hubby wants on to play poker now so chat tomorrow ladies. xxx night night and Maxy ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssspeak to you soon xxxxx

GeekOfTheWeek · 11/06/2010 21:28

basl, what date is your birthday? I will be 29 on 2/12 this year!

carrie, I bet you are lovely

FlyMeToDunoon · 11/06/2010 21:29

I followed Gina with DD2. I couldn't do it to the letter though as far too prescriptive. Whether the Gina effect or not DD2 was a very good sleeper and feeder.
Then DD3 came along and shattered all routines and efforts to have one, was a poor feeder and slept in with us for months. Still comes in like Olivia every night around 2-3 am.
I loved Gina's "cream all his creases thoroughly" I never bothered creaming a crease

carrielou2007 · 11/06/2010 21:37

29???

I also loved the 'cream all his creases' who really does that?? I do think most of it is common sense, 7am start, breakfas, snack time, lunchtime etc but when I had dd I honestly had no clue whatsoever!! Ds gets up at 7am as dd does, slots in etc, I put him in his pram at 12 noon when dd and I have lunch then he has his big sleep whilstI walk dd to playgroup and back>

Going to try to work out how to add a profile on here with some pics, will try to pu on the snake pic!!

maxybrown · 11/06/2010 22:15

29

Oh Bals you made me really snigger then sorry, I meant ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssnigger

I'm not big into routines I'm afraid - I am too chilled out to have anything planned, but my sister is very strict. Anyway, we have a very very chilled out little lad so I don't mind

I love things changing at the last minute - in a good way I mean, love last minute things, love to drop everything and dash off - my Mum is the same though! My brother is so laid back, he is still in last week

Just been having ba play with Ernie, he is getting better and better at being held, James got a good hold tonight too.

horsemadgal · 11/06/2010 22:23

I'll be 40 in December too basl (ouch!) and on your birthday Geek (29? Just a baby!)

basl hope Daniel feels better soon, doesn't sound right the wee lamb.
Didn't get Janey's autograph, shame, I was way at the back coz I had the buggy and could hardly see her even. She only lives 5 mins away so I'm sure will bump into her soon anyway LOL!

BexieID · 11/06/2010 22:36

I'm 33 and everyone I work with would ID me if they didn't know how old I was, lol.

5inthebackofthenet · 11/06/2010 23:03

I'm 30 in November Not sure if I look older or younger though.

So tired tonight, have had quite an emotionally draining day. My best friend went for a scan on Tuesday, and her baby had died , and she had to have it delivered today. Just not long got back from another frien whos P has left her for another woman, she has just pound out she is pg and she is unsure what to do as she alreayd has 3, the 3rd is quite poorly, in and out of hospital with respitory problems. So hard trying to help them with kind words/strong shoulder.

Maxy, sorry I didn't respond to your post about your granny. Really awful they are not treating her properly. What are the chances of getting her moved?

carrielou2007 · 11/06/2010 23:09

5inthebed sorry you have had such a trying day, your poor friends

Have added some pics to my profile for some light relief, try not to split your sides laughing at the sight of me so heavily pregnant and showing my maternity thong

5inthebackofthenet · 11/06/2010 23:16

Nice thong . Your DC are just gorgeous! You look nothing like I imagined though, probably a good thing . That snake is very big!

basl · 12/06/2010 00:49

news 5in. Don't worry about the words i am sure your friends just need you to be there and bet they are glad they have you. xxxxxx

I had a funny feeling i was a lot older than everyone. Strange how i am the one that acts so much like a kid

I want long blonde hair. Waahhhhhh Maxy you have lovely long blonde hair too. I think it makes you both look swedish and about routine that is the only thing in my life i stuck to and it paid off.

Carrie i would be great at cutting your hair as it is very like my texture. Love your pics and you look just how i imagine you

Carrie lol at runs of wobbling to the hills. You are a wee star at making me laugh and love when you snort your baked beans.

FlyMeToDunoon · 12/06/2010 08:34

5in very difficult to be in your situation. Hope you are ok.
