lol Basl, orrrr bless her poor little thing James is just whinging all the time (driving me potty) but isn't like him either. he was in bed for about an hour and a half last night before he was up and screamed when I went to put him back in his bed, so ended up with us wich also isn't like him, he likes his bed. I think you are right about it being the time of year too basl, lots going on! I am sooo tired too!

Basl that is so sweet .

Janx sending you virtual chocolate santa lolly just bought for harrassed mummies .

Dd loved playgroup though only there for half an hour just doing forms etc.

Bought her tv with dvd and freeview 107 in Asda - perfect. Followed by Homebase for a small tree, decs, lights and fairy. Never bothered having one before dd just small ones on windowsil etc and we normally go away this time of year so haven't bothered but now she's this age I feel I have to.

Did quick veg stockup, having a sit down then will have a walk to Morrisions in a bit for food bits then

maxybrown · 04/12/2009 14:44

cheeky I'm just so glad it still works as it really smoked

janxmas · 04/12/2009 14:45

Thanks carrie - I sound like a right old moaning minnie. My two are just so different, I feel like I need a whole rethink on how to parent ds....I know dd thinks he gets away with murder - but honestly sometimes I just don't know how to handle him. He is a gorgeous, funny, affectionate, bright thing - but today I told dd i was putting him on ebay

maxybrown · 04/12/2009 14:53

Ah bless Jan, you do not at all, and I think boys are so different. I have to say, my DS is very good - he knows who is boss shall we say! But he has emptied 2 cups of juice out today - washing his cars (so method in his madness I guess) and drew on his hands. Crayola washables are fab!!

The best time was when we had left him to run around without his nappy on. DH has "special cars" on a shelf. We were in the kitchen talking and had heard DS moaning for a little while, figuring, if he was that bothered, he will come and get us........finally I said "best see what's up with him".....to find he had carried a small table over to the shelf, climbed on it, stole a couple of cars but had weed and poohed in the process so was stood in a "little pile" on the table he was whinging as didn't know how to get down off the table......so I suppose 10/10 for not spreading it around the room

basl · 04/12/2009 15:06

Maxy he sounds like a clever little chap. I have emailed you don't know if you got that.
Janx it is so good to hear other like minded ppeople.

janxmas · 04/12/2009 15:06

Ha - that image of your ds on the table - that must have been a sight! Funny thing with Luka is although he creates havoc - he is quite tidy - he will put all his bath toys away before getting out of the bath, closes the dishwasher if it is open (but I think that is so he can switch it on , and will put his track away if I ask...but only if he is in the mood
Now shall i buy hopi's truimph or ziko for a nursery run buggy?

maxybrown · 04/12/2009 15:09

Ooh Basl sorry not been back on! Have been playing around on the Elfyourself will go and check now

i have a sore throat.....oh nooooo. darn it!!

Yes James is like that, goes round putting thigs in the washing machine etc, clean with the dirty etc

OP posts:
nicolamumof3wisemen · 04/12/2009 15:10

lol maxy!! that is funny.

carrielou please send shep pie over this way, its my fave but my boys hate it so i never make it. real winter comfort food.

i had peaceful shop after dropping tate at nursery as luka fell asleep. Was supposed to be at toms school now listening to him sing. but his classroom on 1st floor and if i'd woken luka up he would have screamed and i couldn't have left him downstairs alone! so haven't gone. Feeling v.,guilty mummy.

janx, i do know how you feel as my first two were nothing like luka, he is very extreme in his emotions shall we say. he lay squeezing and i mean proper full on squeeze DH in bed this morning for a good 10mins! so he can be v.cute at time.

Basl thats a sweet story about your DD. I think this time of year is very overwhelming for the DC's too be honest its such a long run up to xmas for them.

Given out invites today for Tates party its his first ever proper one this year. hes very excited.

janxmas · 04/12/2009 15:25

Ladies - did you see my question - shall I buy hopi's truimph or ziko?

maxybrown · 04/12/2009 15:33

Oh dear Jan, triuph is very small you know? But then for what you want it for doesn't matter anyway does it? I prefer Maclaren myself....but what do I know

Oh Nicola, try not to feel bad - you couldn't win either way, if Luka had been woken up, you prob would have had to leave anyway, then would have felt bad coupled with embarrasment probably!

Bless Tate! Is it at your house?

Ah meant to tell you all too, DS got a £20 voucher from Tesco today for almost ripping his finger off in the summer at one of their stores (I think I mentioned it?)Very nice and all that but they say "we have been unable to find a fault with the area in question" and that it was "an unfortunate accident" - there was a Gap in the security panel and his finger got stuck and ripped open on the badly made MDF panel - he was not messing, I kid you not, I am the first to say if my child was being a pest - in the Tesco near my Mum there is NO gap at the security panel (all hard to explain) but I bet Dh will be peeved they said there is no problem This is his finger here he has a lovely scar now too. On the accident form it says "boy cut his finger" it flipped right over, I could see all of his little veins inside his finger!

Nic, i have that problem all the time with nursery. If i take daniel he will create and i try and get my mum to have him or just don't go. The nursery always ask can i help out with the coffee mornings and fund raising meetings and i keep telling them i can't what would i do with daniel and they just look blank and say what about child care ? Dohhh

basl · 04/12/2009 15:57

Well i don't think i will get a chance to chat till next week now as i have two little visitors over the weekend. My sister has taken her dh to Rome for his 40th and it is their first trip away ever without the kids. So my niece and nephew who are 8 and 6 are coming to stay tonight till monday. They are lovley kids and my two adore them. Hired a people carrier to go to Edinburgh and see the lights and winter wonderland. So have a nice calm weekend everyone and hope we all feel better. xx

maxybrown · 04/12/2009 16:03

Ooh basl, sounds lovely, have a wonderful time! xx

OP posts:
nicolamumof3wisemen · 04/12/2009 16:21

basl that does sound lovely.

janx out of the two i'd say the ziko, i wasn't keen on my triumph at all, sorry.

Maxy thats dreadful about your ds

maxybrown · 04/12/2009 16:28

I know, I didn't mean it to sound like I was out to "do Tesco" but I DID want them to change the checkout security screen there. The woman who could find "no fault" is in Dundee and the store is in Devon I think they think we are just taking the mick. maybe I should send them a picture.

Finally had my washing machine fixed yesterday after over 2weeks without one....

its broken down agan aaaaaarrrghhhhhhhhhhhhh! i could cry!

janxmas · 04/12/2009 16:47

Oh maxy - that is dreadful... I must say i do loathe tescos - they are really money grabbing... £20 is not much compensation for a nasty and distressing accident.
basl - that sounds magical
nicola - oh no - do you think you will have to get a new one?

maxybrown · 04/12/2009 17:40

Oh nooooooooooooooo Nicola!! How bloody frustrating for you. What you going to do?
I know Jan, you are right, it isn't much, but I think they gave us that to shut us up. Shouldn't just leave it there really, and we will give Ds the money.

OP posts:
nicolamumof3wisemen · 04/12/2009 17:54

we have a warranty on it so will have to wait for it to be fixed. ins co. told me today if ont repaired by next fri will get a new one. So surprise surprise eng's coming out first thing monday. the drum is just not turning at all, and we've just had a new motor fitted!

BexieID · 04/12/2009 17:55

maxy, you should complain more. It's health and safety after all. I would be horrified if a child had done that in the store I work in!

Mind you, I got bugger all when 20kg of photographic paper landed on my left big toe as it was on a roll cage that was very badly loaded. That happened a few days before going on a cruise and my toe nail was black. Had to wear nail varnish on my toes, which I HATE, lol.

In fact, the way I feel about the supermarket beginning with T atm, grr. So glad I went on mat leave when I did. Was becoming too painfull on the stupid basket tills and they wouldn't move me!

nicolamumof3wisemen · 04/12/2009 17:57

not good is it bexie eh? a big co. like that.

right i've got to go out again to collect tom now from dancing. wonder what luka will be like no footmuff on. its bloody cold out!!

FlyMeToDunoon · 04/12/2009 18:03

Hi. Glad to hear that sheepskin rug/blanket combo is not completely bonkers!
All the DCs get under the weather at this time of year. So many infections are going around for them to catch for the first time and for some it's a new world of nursery or school to cope with.
Nicola is your washing machine under warranty or anything? Need to be replaced by the sounds of it.
Basi hope you have a nice weekend
I am going to enjoy DD2's school performance without any other DCs as DD3 will be at nursery. Also DD1's carol service takes place after DP has finished work. last year I left in tears after my two youngest created hell [well noise and standing up and crying etc]. So peace should reign this year. Yipee
Tidied like a maniac most of the morning for a viewer this afternoon. House was in a most uncommon state.

FlyMeToDunoon · 04/12/2009 18:19

Nicola celtic sheepskin free delivery offer here. Didn't you like their stuff?
