Afternoon all - horrible rainy day in London. Me and ds came home early from the toy museum, I feel a bit sick today....and no its not morning sickness - think I had too many cheese and biscuits last night
I too was tempted by the apples quest, but have decided to spend £100 on myself...plus I dd needs more clothes - If i ever find a pair of trousers or dungarees that fit I am going to bulk buy.

BexieID · 29/12/2009 15:28

I got a Zia when they first came out but it's too low down for me. Having said that, if you don't keep it nicola, can I have dibs as will need a small folding buggy for summer in car? I didn't like Zapp much either, lol.

Will just post this message and put some pix on my profile.

maxybrown · 29/12/2009 17:03

I found zia a little too low, even shorty me. DH really struggled with it, esp with his huge feet keep kicking it. To me, it always felt like it was going to snap in half, mainly when I went to lift it up kerbs. I think the biggest biggest problem is the "laid back" seat, could never get it up right enough for DS. That was in Feb I bought it so DS was 17 months ish. TBH I did think about them again briefly for slinging in the car as they are so small, but it was a bit too........flimsy for me so I quickly forgot about it although very bouncy. I would just want it to be sturdier, sit more upright and a bit higher.....then it would be good ish for car slinging. But seeing as I rarely go in the car, tis a bit pointless

nicolamumof3wisemen · 29/12/2009 17:09

maxybrown · 29/12/2009 17:12

Yes do that!! It will irritate you I am sure. I can't imagine DS being happy in the seat now. He used to always whinge before so god help me if I put him in it now!!

Afternoon all.

Glad you like the black xt Lillypie, lovely to see you. I keep giggling to myself as I have a black xt sat in my kitchen with the box upstairs and if dd's dad comes over he'll never know .

I loved the concept of the zia but in reality I hated it,flimsy, dd was always slumped not sat up enough, too low for me, wonky steering and exactly as maxy says felt like it would snap up and down kerbs! I say Nicola will wheel it around the house before coming to her senses!!

Just sold 2 more things on ebay and so seem to have bought myself (another) yummy mummy bag with the pennies . One chagning bag waterproof for when it's raining and a pretty one for when it's not!!

nicolamumof3wisemen · 29/12/2009 17:57

I am still in love with my babymel, never ever liked changing bags but i love this one so not like a changing bag and terry will carry it!!

carrielou2007 · 29/12/2009 18:14

My other bag is not even a changing bag, it's a Paul Smith messenger bag with a huge union jack flap front.

As soon as dd was about 5/6 months and no longer needed to carry loads of spare clothes in case of pooh explosions (sorry TMI at teatime!!) I used and still do 'animal' messenger bags. I have a hot pink faux leaher one on the mac for dd nd have several others.

Never really needed a big bag for long as never had to carry bottles of milk as I used my boobs!

If splodge is not a boy my apples quest will be up for sale though bet you will have bought a butchers stripe one by then !!!

pebbles79 · 29/12/2009 18:15

He he, I got one of those Zia's too but I won't even be opening it, bought it to hopefully profit on ebay

5ringinginthenewyear · 29/12/2009 18:17

Bargain Nicola. Where from? What colour did you get?

I found the Zias too low. Never had on but tried to push my friends.

I had mince and tatties with broccoli for tea. Was yummy.

5ringinginthenewyear · 29/12/2009 18:24

Just had a lok at the M&P sale stuff. They have Joolz for £349 and Skates for £297.50. Good prices for them both.

nicolamumof3wisemen · 29/12/2009 18:32

yes they are good prices aren't they? saw a lovely green joolz in bluewater before xmas the footmuff looked so snuggly. i'd fancy trying a skate for a newborn.

yes i will no doubt sell the zia then.

so i 'need' a quest for the car and to fold i hate folding xlr worried it will mark (yes im obsessive aren't i?!)

so lets get this sorted....

butchers stripe or apples?? what would you have?

carrielou2007 · 29/12/2009 18:35

Ooh I looked at both of those in M and P today. I was only looking for the indigo denim changing bag that's in the sale to match my denim swtich but was thinking the skate at that price yuummmmm...

nicolamumof3wisemen · 29/12/2009 18:40

oh skate would be lovely for a boy carrielou. i'd happily take your mac apples but too impatient to wait. I think i may order butchers stripe tbh as you don't see many of those think i've only eve seen two!

lillychristmaspuddingandpie · 29/12/2009 18:42

Carrielou STOP!!Do not buy a skate,it's your hormones gone mad

Went for lunch and a wonder up and down Gloucester road today,Chris and I got drenched and froze in heavy sleet and DD sat in the xt snug as a bug singing songs

carrielou2007 · 29/12/2009 18:56

Ha ha!! So easy to push isn't it!! Motorway was horrible on the way home in the sleet.

I think I am done for prams (for now) I think I have just what I want and need. There's always accessories !!

smeraldina · 29/12/2009 19:19

Hello shed...

Have just bought what seems to be a turkey of a pushchair . Our five month old baby was slow to fix on faces so I really wanted a rear facing buggy. Went on the gumtree and saw there was a Peg Perego Venezia for £75 -- and we bought it sort of on impulse - it was cold, we were viewing it outside, the baby was crying...

Anyway - it seems to be really dreadful. Won't steer well. Bad suspension. Hard to mount curbs. Cursing myself for not doing more research.

Any tips on a better model - rear facing - that one might be able to pick up second hand - And any sympathetic noises for being such a shopping wally - gratefully received...have double posted this - was in products but this seems oi be the place I think

Sx

5ringinginthenewyear · 29/12/2009 19:22

No idea what one of those looks like. Depends what you're looking for in a rear facer tbh.

Carrie, get the Skate

Nicola, butchers stripe! Although you won't have any accesories to go with it, so maybe the apples?

I think I want a single P&T

nicolamumof3wisemen · 29/12/2009 20:05

hello

the venezia does have 'strange' steering tho doesn't it in RF? i haven't heard much about them so probably worth a google.

as 5in has said depends what you want from a pram, do you go on public transport or put it up/down alot for car is weight an issue? etc

5in i've had enough stressing about bloody macs so going to leave it for today hahah!

i wouldn't get a single p&t don't think they are the best 3wheeler quite heavy and a bugger of a fold

nicolamumof3wisemen · 29/12/2009 20:17

i remember now its because the handle bar rather than the seat reverses on the venezia so you have back wheels at fron't iykwim when in RF. So no swivel wheels harder to steer.

5ringinginthenewyear · 29/12/2009 20:36

Of course! The venezia is the wrong kind of rear facer. You need one where the seat unit comes off to change it around. Hauck Infinity is a good RF, especially if you have a toddler as well.

P&T would just be for walking, no folding required . I am thinking I can get one cheaper than a nipper?

maxybrown · 29/12/2009 20:42

I once saw that someone on ebay was selling a venezia and they had done something with the brake - oh yes, remeoved the brake bar (brakes still worked independantly) so that they could also have swivel when rear facing - never tried it obviously just saw it once!! Maybe an idea??

I fancy a butchers stripe - but what for I ask myself? I have already been perusing summer wear for DS so need to get saving for that. I hate that by the time the weather is right, the clothes being sold are onto the next season or sold out! Although I made Ds try on all last years Boden shorts this morning. All 12/18 and all still fit - do you reckon though that they will still fit in July, that's the burning question isn't it? Sigh....i am having a clothes dilemma. As if you couldn't tell. Another rason for me to only ever have an only!

OP posts:
nicolamumof3wisemen · 29/12/2009 20:53

maxy im sooooo with you! i love the star shorts on next £8 two pairs so bound to sell out. I asked DH 'do i get 3-4 or 4-5 for Tate?" he just looked at me v.blankly as if to say "its fricking december what are you asking me about shorts for" lol!!!
