Mothercare 2-3 sleepsuits come up big too. M&S do 2-3 but not sure how big they come up.

I got DS the footless sleepsuits from Next though and got 4-5 cos 3-4 only just fit and cos they don't have feet you can just roll them up a bit and don't have to worry about poppers unpopping.

I got some nice velour ones from Sainsburys and fleecy ones from Asda, Tesco and Primark.

maxybrown · 20/12/2009 15:32

Well got to John Lewis ok, took ages to get home though. Lots of snow here now. Doing some tidying then taking James out in it

Me and DP are still feeling rough. Tom is at PIL, but we decided not to go over ourselves for dinner this evening. Hoping they won't bring Tom back too late as he's round there again at 8am because of my antenatel appt at the hospital tomorrow.
My consultant did mention maybe doing a membrane sweep but i'd rather not for now as really don't want bubs coming mid cold!

nicolamumof3wisemen · 20/12/2009 20:13

awww bex i had luka when i had a chest infection thats why i had a epidural, i was just sooo weak. so i feel for you. not easy.

5inthesleighbed · 20/12/2009 23:22

Poor you Bexie. I had an awful sinus infection when I had ds3, was more excited about having the IV antibiotics to shift it than having the baby (joking - slightly)

Feeling slightly annoyed by my friends. Might just be me. They bothg had their (first) babies iearlier this year, both boys, so obviously I have loads of boys stuff to give away. Neither of them take anything I offer, and it isn't cheap crap either, its stuff I;ve bought. They turn their noses up at it, and its starting to annoy me. One of them called around today to drop something off, and I have a lovely auarium mobile ds3 doesn't use anymore, she didn't want it because she was walking and couldn't possibly carry it. So sod them, not going to offer them anything again.

nappyaddict · 21/12/2009 01:17

5in Perhaps she already had a mobile or did she have other stuff to carry or the pushchair with her that meant she couldn't carry it?

I'm quite fussy with what stuff I get for DS. I don't mind second hand stuff but a lot of the stuff people have for their DC isn't what I'd get for DS. With toys I only get ones that don't need batteries and with clothes I'm fussy with colours. Only like stuff if it has orange, yellow, pink, purple or turquoise and I only bought baby grows until DS was about 14/15 months.

I was offered a mobile when pregnant with DS. I declined on the grounds that 1) I wanted to try and get one that was black and white to begin with then colour 2) If not I'd seen one that matched the other stuff I was getting 3) I didn't want a musical one 4) I didn't one that used batteries 5) I didn't want one with a light show

So try not to be too offended they're probably just awkward buggers like me

maxybrown · 21/12/2009 07:40

Yes, but it's just good grace to accept isn't it?!!?? I just wouldn't bother 5in.

Morning by the way!

Been awake ages as had one of those "I need to get out of bed headaches" and the cat was jumping on me....urgh, s sat in peace in my kitchen looking at the lovely snow and wondering how long it will take me to get to work today!!

nicolamumof3wisemen · 21/12/2009 08:26

morning all!

the start of the holidays! three hyper boys by myself as terry working right up to xmas eve grrr.

whats everyone got planned this week?

carrielou2007 · 21/12/2009 09:01

Morning all

We had a few inches of snow last night, now like sheet ice and we need to go out.

5in1 try not to let it get to you, ebay it insted. I've had several friends give me clothes that I have no need for and have felt obliged to take then have to trek to charity shop with it all.

My friend had a girl 6 months after me and bought/I gave everything to her. She would ask 'have you got any...' rather than me say then I heard she had complained she had had to buy moses basket mattress - for the moses basket, stand, sheets and blankets I had said a fiver so after that I ebayed everything!!

5inthesleighbed · 21/12/2009 09:02

Morning everyone.

Sorry I was huffy last night, I was just annoyed at myself for being overbearing on my friends. I'll just freecycle it unless a y of you ladies would like it? This one. Would just want the postage.

I've got a busy week ahead. Tonight we are having a family meal out with my dad, brother/SIL, sister/her partner and neice. Tomorrow DS2 is in respite and I'm doing some food shopping. Wednesday I've got to do MIL's food shopping then going to my mams to construct some toys, Thursday I've got to battle the shop for last minute things, and then there is something happening Friday, but can't remember what

Whats everyone else up to?

lillychristmaspuddingandpie · 21/12/2009 09:17

Morning everyone,I'm bloody freezing!DD is out in the back garden playing in the snow so I have to have the door open.
I am off to find another pair of socks

nicolamumof3wisemen · 21/12/2009 09:50

the boys are eating jam toast watching mickey mouse xmas.

we have to go to p.o, pay rent etc later, then i may take them to lunch later. I need to get on with my ironing now.

Tomorrow im at friends for lunch.

Sainsbury's is open until midnight so terry is doing our xmas food shop after work one night then i can pop and get anything they didn't have in waitrose, its so big spacious and calm in there i love it! have a raymond briggs 'snowman' cake to collect there anyway on weds.

Still got wrapping to do but trying not to give myself too many jobs this week as entertaining/controlling three hyper boys, battling snow/ice etc is enough for me in xmas week!

Have a fab week girlies!!

janxmas · 21/12/2009 09:55

Morning all - last day at work before Christmas - hurrah.
Ds is at nursery and I must say I had a lovely day with him yesterday - only one minor tantrum and the rest of the time he was a joy. Went to my mums and my brother was there - even got a bit of Christmas shopping done with ds asleep and my brother looking after Frida.
Bexie - hope you feel better - I had a cold when I had Luka and still managed to have him on the bathroom floor!

nappyaddict · 21/12/2009 10:20

maxy I offer stuff to friends and if they don't want it then I sell it in the paper. I would be pretty pissed off if they accepted it because they felt they had to and then got rid of it, wouldn't you?

FlyMeToDunoonSanta · 21/12/2009 14:32

Janx Bathroom floor!
Hello all. Had a miserable couple of days. DD1 has a tummy upset/virus/bug so she has alternated ends in the bathroom. Poor thing. DP's eye is getting better. It's raining now too so I am hoping the snow will all go. It just added to the general difficulties of getting anything done.
Full price offer recieved on the house. Feel a bit numb tbh.
5in I used to get frustrated with piles of stuff noone wanted but also know how annoying it can be to have people wanting me to take stuff I don't need or want. Those with pfbs can be reluctant to have second hand too.

nicolamumof3wisemen · 21/12/2009 14:36

oh wow dunoon! Fab about the house!!!

I agree about the snow, its pouring down now and im really pleased. i hate getting boys dressed to go out and brining them back in soaked through from snow and slush my hallway is covered in towels. Be happy if all gone tomorrow!!

I need to get in tunbridge wells to get a turkey from marks!

FlyMeToDunoonSanta · 21/12/2009 14:45

Good luck there.
DP venturing out for presents and I will need to do another Sainsbury's shop. We are off to DP's parents on wednesday.

nicolamumof3wisemen · 21/12/2009 14:48

yes well im sending DH tomorrow morning when they open, he's working all week and i can't face buses or walking up mt.pleasant from station in snow/rain with 3 dcs!

He's doing sainsbo shop tomorrow night too about 11pm! they are open til midnight.

carrielou2007 · 21/12/2009 14:50

We took 3 hours today to walk over to bank and post office (mile and a half away) then back via Morrisons (only a mile away) as it was so slippy . Dd loved skidding in her wellies, me not so much and was so much easier when she wanted to eat a banana in the buggy!

Fab news on the house FMTD.

Fed up waiting for post, two things posted second class to us last tues still not turned up here today

My friend had her second baby in the hall floor, she was trying to get onto the laminate and not ruin the cream lounge carpet - scary thoughts!

nicolamumof3wisemen · 21/12/2009 14:57

lol that would be me carrielou! i almost didn't make it with luka. All my labours been v.fast tho.

How long you got now carrielou?

luka's asleep in the nipper in the hallway and tates under blanket on sofa watching batman. Tom gone to his dads to build a snowman!! so i should get on really...more ironing!

im waiting on luka's sheepskin boots sent first class last tuesday carrielou im no happy.

FlyMeToDunoonSanta · 21/12/2009 15:02

DD3 was born outside the hospital in the dropping off area.
Lol at trying to get onto the laminate, The things that go through your head when in labour.

maxybrown · 21/12/2009 15:06

I don't know nappy, I am not fortunate enough to have any friends nearby at all. So have never been given anything or given anything away. I would, though, have been appreciative of anything I have to say, as we have bought everything second hand anyway.
But maybe I am scabby, certainly not unappreciative

Maxybrown: Scabby but Appreciative.

carrielou2007 · 21/12/2009 15:25

Fingers crossed second birth will be quicker (went in hosptial tue with dd didn't have her until the fri) but not that quick!! Just over 2 weeks (but dd was 15 days late)

Popped upstairs and typical postie knocks the door so I had to slide down the path after her as I was too slow down the two lots of stairs (townhouse). Still waiting for just the 4 parcels...
