Thread II.......Oh dear

OP posts:
aswellasyou · 19/07/2011 20:34

I went on it when I was about 9. My Mum won a trip for two anywhere in the world on Concorde, then got two tickets on BA to NY in a charity auction for £100. So BA agreed to Saoirse and Dad flying there on Concorde and back on the normal flight, and Mum and I there on the normal flight and back on Concorde.
Is it your Dad's fault it was so noisy with only two TVs on the whole plane?!Grin I wasn't impressed! I went in the cockpit and pressed some buttons mid-air.Shock They also gave me the empty magnum bottle of super dooper champagne which my Mum proceeded to fill with super dooper brandy. My Dad told an air steward never to allow his champagne glass to be less than half full. I can't help but feel our parents enjoyed the trip more than we did.Hmm

The foetus Orbit still bothers me too! It's got so much attention to detail though that I want to like it. Maybe there'll be a less foetusy version one day.

aswellasyou · 19/07/2011 20:36

Suzie, the Xari is gorgeous though!Smile
I didn't mean to waffle on about Concorde!Blush

FriggFRIGG · 19/07/2011 20:43

no,i dont think it was his fault...he's an engineer so he made lots of teeny weeny parts that made it Stay In The Air Grin

suzie38 · 19/07/2011 20:50

So you think i'd better get one then??? And i loved hearing about your Concorde adventure Smile

suzie38 · 19/07/2011 21:51

It's cleared customs at 21.18.

Guildfordnanny · 19/07/2011 22:09

I love the way you an track a parcel. I used to go and meet my bosses off Concorde with the children. You could set you clock by the Concorde flights at 11 and 7ish. I will never forget standing in the garden watching the last three commercial flights roar over our head. Awesome times.
If I change my name it needs to be something weird and wonderful...but I am not inspired....I had this one for when I used to job hunt on here many years ago!

suzie38 · 19/07/2011 22:12

When i lived in Chiswick one used to fly into Heathrow around 5pm...I was geeky and had a timetable so i could often tell where the planes had come from if they were a less popular airline...I could see them out of the Velux window in my loft room.

Guildfordnanny · 19/07/2011 22:42

Lol! That is geeky! Where shall I preorder a Noa from? Do I even want one? I have had a play and fold and they are pretty neat. I guess I could sell my Halo for one...plus the Pear goes tomorrow, the Mutsy seat went at the weekend...

suzie38 · 19/07/2011 22:49

My Flip It went yesterday and the Superdreamer is being collected on Thursday...Keep getting emails from a buyer in Germany for my Go but no matter have much i explain that eBay won't let me sell to people out of the UK i get badgered again.

aswellasyou · 19/07/2011 22:50

I love how we all have Concorde stories-I'm the only one with inside knowledge though.Grin Frigg, they didn't all stay in the air though did they?Wink
suzie, I do think you should get one if you have the money and are happy with the colours. I wouldn't get one here because I'd want the white. I really can't afford to spend that on a pushchair though.Sad And I agree you're a geek!GrinI am too though
Guildford, I am so unimaginative, there's no way I could do an interesting name.

suzie38 · 19/07/2011 22:50

Noa is too similar to my Nuna which i'm happy with but only use occasionally...Saving it for DD to use with her toys, as i loved playing with proper buggies as a kid.

suzie38 · 19/07/2011 22:53

I'm rubbish with usernames hence mine being similar wherever i go...DH said a strict NO to a white Xari as he knows how messy DD is and how i hate cleaning up after her.

FriggFRIGG · 19/07/2011 22:54

aswellasyou Shock shit.

aswellasyou · 19/07/2011 22:58

You could get a Noa from here or maybe from France like here. I don't know if it's worth shipping it though. I like it. Smile

aswellasyou · 19/07/2011 23:01

Frigg!Grin
I put the Contours in my Mum's boot today. I tried it in about three million 8 different positions with wheels on and off. I've decided it's fine just sitting on its side with the parcel shelf placed on top. Did you manage to sort out the adapter?

FriggFRIGG · 19/07/2011 23:07

hmmm a new name for Guild eh??

do you want it to be obviously YOU or would you rather be a bit incognito??
do you want an undercurrent of meaning? or something obvious?

EG. my name is FriggFRIGG because.... Frigg was the wife of Odin, Goddess of womeny stuff (technical term) and was often called apon for the conception of a child (so the women would shout "Frigg" during too ensure conception) its also used as a colloquial term for 'oh fuck'.

i have two of Frigg's blessings, they were both "Oh Fuck" moments for us though Wink

(there are also landmarks in hampshire named after Frigg,so i thought it was rather fitting Grin)

FriggFRIGG · 19/07/2011 23:08

yeah,it should be with you by now....hmm maybe tomorow at the latest, then i'll go shout at the post office for you....glad you got it in!!

FriggFRIGG · 19/07/2011 23:10

that wink should have been a Shock really....
to clarify,we were very shocked Grin

aswellasyou · 19/07/2011 23:12

I've just remembered I've got two parcels to collect. It's probably one of those.Smile I was determined to get it in! I was going to find a way.Grin

aswellasyou · 19/07/2011 23:14

I love the Frigg story by the way.ShockWinkGrin

suzie38 · 19/07/2011 23:16

Me too Smile [wunk]

FriggFRIGG · 19/07/2011 23:18

thanks Grin

Guildfordnanny · 19/07/2011 23:56

That story is fab Frigg :)
I think I need to be incognito - but I guess everyone would know who I was by the end of the day coz I can't keep quiet! I contemplated asking DH to block Mumsnet on the router earlier but I would be bored silly through the long hours of baby feeding!!
Maybe I need to counter aswellasyou and be aswellasme - and then that would really confuse you?

Guildfordnanny · 20/07/2011 02:06

I have bought a Noa....I like small neat pushchairs and its worth a try!

suzie38 · 20/07/2011 05:56

Say's it's departed the East Midlands facility so may possible arrive today??? Off to work soon so i can't keep an eye on it until 4pm time.
