yes i agree the same happened last year, everyone got worried but nothing happened, but yes it is still a risk. iv never had any problems doing this.

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 07/11/2009 22:25

I've just spoken to a nice lady at Littlewoods, I inputted my wrong email address so thats now sorted. However she said they have no record of an order from me. Well I know it went through 'cos I got the page saying thanks for the order, this is the order number, keep it for your reference.

The only thing I can think is that as my order was for exactly £25 it didn't work.

Divatheshopaholic · 07/11/2009 22:28

those who ordered stuff last xmas, they all got it
lets hope, lets hope. there is light

Lizalu · 07/11/2009 22:40

I ordered at Littlewoods and Choice but hadn't had an email confirmation so I phoned the Littlewoods helpline.

They knew all my personal details but not the order.

Transferred me to the online team who knew about the order but nothing about the discount code: 'it get's applied later'

Won't feel happy until I get my email

reallywoundup · 07/11/2009 22:41

if they try and take the money surely you contact your card issuer and inform them that it is an unauthorised payment taken without permission- then very or whichever company could then go to great lengths ( i think not!) to prove that you were in fact ineligable to use the voucher code! Come on- they had to back down last time- they may not be great at keeping a secret but they aren't THAT stupid are they?

Hey ho- i only ever order from littlewoods etc with a discount code- if they try to get the money back then they'll have a battle

No stories about reclaiming codes last year, in fact none since 2007 (that seem to be true anyway!)- they fuck up every now and again- this code should have only worked for a £50 min spend- but their system isn't recognising that. They'll notice soon and revert it back or change it to something else- but they've had a heck of a lot of business and lots of accounts opened on the back of it i would imagine!

Seriously- don't panic. However i would exercise caution with over-using it!

Lizalu · 07/11/2009 22:50

If the goods do arrive then I hope to keep them for the bargain price but I think there will be lots of cancelled orders.

Bleatblurt · 07/11/2009 23:38

I'm usually too chicken to try these codes like this but this time I've given it a go. If they cancel it then no loss, just hope they don't decide to charge me the full amount.

mum1977 · 07/11/2009 23:52

HI I have just ordered some bits with this code, when I autorised my payment it only said I was paying the odd £5, but then when I got the email it said it takes the full amount and then refunds before sending... can they do this when I didnt authorise the full amount????

Did it on very also and added to my account rather than the money coming straight out of my account, got a bit carried away without reading into it!!!!

ssd · 08/11/2009 07:59

yes they take the full amount the give you the discount a few days later

Lilyloo · 08/11/2009 09:10

Not sure how it works when you have added it to your account but if you have paid by card it debits the full amount and then deducts discount before dispatch.

whinegums · 08/11/2009 09:26

Oooh, thanks so much. I've just ordered 6 chairs for less than £100 - ordered the first pair using the £25 off, the second pair with £10 off, then did a search and found XX586 which gave me 15% off the final pair. Fab - hope all the codes work. But no big deal if not, as the chairs are cheaper on Marshall Ward than I've seen them anywhere else anyway.

laughalot · 08/11/2009 10:08

Make sure you take the order over £ 25 if its dead on or under it dosent work. Also go onto track my order and you can see what stage its at x

madhairgirl · 08/11/2009 10:23

Oh help, managed (I think) to do it with an order for £24, will have to see what happens. Many thanks for sharing the code

mum1977 · 08/11/2009 10:40

just wondered if anyone had used this code, got the discount and then had any problems afterwards - i.e. companies contacting to get full amount from you??

wellbalanced · 08/11/2009 10:50

I used these codes in march for arrival of baby stuff and just used again for baby's 1st christmas, never had any problems but if they charge full ill be sending back.

whydowedoit · 08/11/2009 11:54

Just used code ZQ266 and it worked perfectly.

mummyofevilprincesses · 08/11/2009 11:58

What if they charge after Christmas- there will be no chance of me returning the stuff then.

Rindercella · 08/11/2009 12:11

I also just used ZQ266, and confirmation email shows the discount of £25, bust states, "If you have paid for your order with a credit or debit card then we will process your payment in two stages. First we will charge your card with the full price of
the order then we will refund your card with the value of the discount. Please note that the payment and refund may not occur simultaneously but the
refund will be made no later than when your order is despatched."

Thank you so much - means that DD's main Christmas present cost a fiver! Bargain.

pinkchampagne · 08/11/2009 12:26

I got the code from hot uk deals. Have used loads of Littlewoods/additions codes before & (touch wood) never had a problem. I am an existing customer with both catalouges & will only normally buy from them if I have a code as they are slightly more expensive.

I really hope there isn't a problem with any of your orders as I will feel really guilty about starting the thread.

mummyofevilprincesses · 08/11/2009 12:27

Pinkchampagne, i honestly think it is worth a try, so if it doesn't work for everyone then we still appreciate the opportunity to grab a bargain! Thank you.

Flightattendant · 08/11/2009 12:32

Don't worry, we are all grateful and it might work fine!

I've cancelled my two orders and done one together which adds up to over £50, hopefully that will go through Ok - and if they do claim the full amount, the items were no dearer than anywhere else really, so no matter.

Littlewoods is much dearer than Very for example, so had they charged me full price I would have been paying a premium...Very have got a fair price on the same item anyway before discount, so have gone with them.

Clary · 08/11/2009 12:34

have ordered 2 DS games so that's great if it works!

Have had emails saying I have got the discount. I am a customer of one or the other anyway (can't recall which as don't use it often) so hopefully it should be OK.

Thanks pink champagne

TimeForMe · 08/11/2009 12:39

If they charge anyone after Christmas then we should do a mass complaint to trading standards! They had problems with people using unauthorised codes in 2007, they should have learned from that and made sure that codes cannot be used by people not entitled to them, just like Asda, Ocado and many other places do. The fact that they haven't protected the codes means they will be shared and used and we don't know that this is what they intend in order to extort money out of innocent folks like us as in letting us place an order then a few months later taking the money back. They will have a fight on there hands if they try it with me!

Disenchanted3 · 08/11/2009 12:48

One of my orders says 'order despatched' now.

Others 'being processed'

Bleatblurt · 08/11/2009 12:54

Mine too Disenchanted3! Really hoping this all works out now. [excited]
