might as well try though when you can get things for cheaper than at a charity shop.

They did create the code knowing that a 26 quid order would result in 25 coming off.

TimeForMe · 07/11/2009 19:34

Disenchanted yes, you can return the items within 14 days and receive a full refund.

Disenchanted3 · 07/11/2009 19:34

hmm, thats not exactly fair though is it??

surely must be a rule about that.

piprabbit · 07/11/2009 19:34

Thank you so much for the code - just bought a bit of DH's Xmas present (FM transmitter so he can listen to his MP3 player in the car) and some Crayola pens for £2 incl. free delivery...

Hurray! 3 go go hamsters for £8.95 with delivery from Very

Flightattendant · 07/11/2009 19:50

See I would hesitate to be thrilled at 3 go go hamsters given the image that generates in my brain

what exactly is one of those?

Flightattendant · 07/11/2009 19:51

and I am certain Littlewoods will still have made a healthy profit on my baby annabell.

I wonder how much they pay per baby as it were? Probably about £3.

SoWhat · 07/11/2009 20:07

Thank you for this! Just got 2 pairs of pyjamas for DD, crayons and marker pens for free!

TeaOneSugar · 07/11/2009 20:20

I usually think that if something sounds too good to be true it probably is, but I've placed an order for a £29 item and they appear to have charged me £4, that was the order total so I'd imagine that's what they've taken out of my account - it's a bit naughty if they've taken more.

Disenchanted3 · 07/11/2009 20:28

but the verbaudet one of spend 20 quid, get 15 off and free delivery worked LOADS for me, and that was last year, got loads of sets of clothes worth 23quid for fiver each.so they do work sometimes

LilyLoovesGuyFawkes · 07/11/2009 20:29

I got dd birthday present last year using one of these codes was charged full price but then refunded.
Never heard anything more. Have placed one order but not sure if i dare use any others ?

ScattyKatty · 07/11/2009 20:31

I wouldn't be greedy TBH. If you can't afford the full price, don't do it!

vjg13 · 07/11/2009 20:32

go go hamsters!

DebiTheScot · 07/11/2009 20:52

Thanks for that. I've just ordered duplo for ds2's christmas and sylvanian car for best friend's dd. I used Very as I'm alredy a customer. Figured it was safer than registering new with littlewoods and them potentially complaining in 2 months that I wasn't an existing customer.

Was going to buy both those things anyway, full price is a bit more than Amazon but worth the risk I think.

IdrisTheDragon · 07/11/2009 20:56

Am thinking about cancelling the orders - would rather not get stung for money later on even if it does seem good now.

carriedababi · 07/11/2009 21:02

the problem is these catalogues are so much dearer than the shops, so we could get stung

these are the t and c's

2.3 Promotional codes are codes that enable customers to obtain benefits such as discounts, free delivery and free gifts. These codes are non-transferable so may only be used by the person to whom they are issued and must only be used in accordance with their terms and conditions of use. If you use a promotional code to claim a promotional benefit, you must first check that it was issued to you and that you are eligible to use it. By using it to claim a promotional benefit you will be confirming that:-

(i) you are entitled to use the code;
(ii) you meet all the conditions that apply to its use;
(iii) you agree to the terms set out below.

If, before accepting your order, we find that you are not entitled to use the code or do not meet all the terms and conditions of its use, we may reject your order or alternatively process it without the promotional benefit being applied. If, after accepting your order, we find that you were not entitled to use the code or did not meet all the terms and conditions of its use, we may reverse the benefit that you obtained. If you transacted on a cash basis e.g. by debit or credit card, we may take a further payment, equivalent to the value of the benefit obtained, from the card used. If you transacted on a credit basis, the value of the benefit obtained may be charged to your credit account.

IdrisTheDragon · 07/11/2009 21:04

Hmm, have looked at the transaction history and for one order both the payment and discount have been applied, for the other just the payment. I think it's becasue some of the items were not in stock yet and it says the discount would get applied when they were about to be dispatched.

Still considering what to do...rather got swept up in it all before

I think what needs to happen is someone contact them and ask what the time frame is for them to check 'eligability'

that way if the order goes through WITH discount then after 28 days without question the items are yours at that price.

It says that '', after accepting your order, we find that you were not entitled to use the code or did not meet all the terms and conditions of its use, we may reverse the benefit that you obtained. If you transacted on a cash basis e.g. by debit or credit card, we may take a further payment, equivalent to the value of the benefit obtained, from the card used. If you transacted on a credit basis, the value of the benefit obtained may be charged to your credit account.''

But how long do they legally ahve to do this?

They couldn't decide after 4 years that suddenly they can charge you full price.

So what is the cut off point.

Surely it should be something like 28 days, so if after 28 days you have no had notice of being charged the full price then the item are free to be opened without the possibility of full payment being owed??

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 07/11/2009 21:59

I've tried to sign in to look at my account and it says that they have no record of an account under my email address. I haven't had a confimation email either, I'm worried now.

noddyholder · 07/11/2009 22:00

I think what happens is the ordr is processd inc the discount and if onc the account is checked out you wren't entitled to the discount they take the discount back. They are not in effect taking money from you they are just taking back what was theirs(the discount)that you recieved in error.Apparently there was a similar scenario with woolworths and it was all recoupd by them!

Stripy - I think you said you spent exactly £25. I did that and didn't get a confirmation email, so altered order a bit and made it for £25.50. It worked then.

(I am veering towards cancelling everything I think but will sleep on it)

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 07/11/2009 22:09

But I can't find my account!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
