have sent a reworded and firm email (thank you M2JR!!)but have been advised by Comsumer Direct that just because they have given one person a bed, they are NOT obliged to give everyone else one too...

I'm with Zippi on this I'm afraid - I think it's a bit shocking that so many of us are clawing at their feet trying to get something for nothing, without a thought for the person who cocked up (so none of you lot ever make mistakes??) who probably is getting it in the neck and might even lose their job. What a waste of petrol and delivery space just to exploit a mistake.

Sorry, I know how easy it is to get caught up in the freebie excitement but it just reminds me of the horrible 'sueing companies for every penny because of an innocent mistake' culture we are living in.

These are real people running these places, not just a computer.

And fwiw, I was delivered a free mattress from M&S, not once but three times they delivered it and I had not paid for it and I went to a lot of trouble to send it back.

Mind you I generally find Additions are a waste of space anyway - always making mistakes and their stuff isn't very good when it comes. So not all one sided. But do calm down. It's not like a matter of international human rights that they won't sell you a really nice bed for £23

that's very true Fllight. I know of a former colleague in retail head office who made a financially huge mistake with currency(unfortunately confused 2 currencies and then the exchange rate worked against it), got a formal warning and lo and behold was among the first swathe of redundancies. The buyer who sanctioned it was fine though

Recieved a letter about 3 weeks ago saying they had recieved my complaint then an email saying they would deliver the bed!

I just had my drawers delivered and need advice how to word an email. I did email them to let them know I had received drawers and was expecting a bed. They emailed back saying it was a mistake on their website and to get them returned. What I need to know is what to say next!
