Highgate email arrived 💦

Same here.

FutureWestLondonMommy · 24/01/2025 19:24

City offers in as well. Grateful to have an offer..

FutureWestLondonMommy · 24/01/2025 21:59

@Caps44 How did you fare? Xx

Superstar88 · 25/01/2025 13:30

Haven’t heard anything from WUS, we filled the forms to st Paul’s. Commute is a bit harder for us but we will figure it out. Good to everyone waiting ! I heard it’s only about 10 kids on a reserve list but I am not sure how reliable that information is.

Have you tried calling WUS? If that is your first choice, I would call and email just to reiterate that it is your first choice and find out if there is a chance.

Congrats! 10 kids on which school’s reserve list? Fingers crossed would have movements soon

@FutureWestLondonMommy congrats on your offers. We got fortunate and we have offers from UCS, City and waitlist for Highgate.
Going to have a think this weekend.

Well done Caps.

Glad 7+ is over now.

Have you seen the reports that the Princess of Wales toured UCS and Highgate, potentially for Prince George at 11+, so he is closer to home. Prince Louis is in the same year as our 7+ DCs.

familyguy83 · 26/01/2025 13:58

Would it be that safe and private for a Prince at Highgate or UCS?
Many wannabe content creators and influencers amongst their student or parent population who would sell a story about the prince to the tabloids at a whiff of a few thousand quid.
The daily commute to these schools would also be quite a distance for them.

Separately, well done to everyone on their DS and DD’s offers. Not sure if I could do that again. Extremely taxing process.

Does the wait list move much for City ?

Most of my peers want UCS due to location and pastoral care. Does anyone know if the UCS WL moves much?
Does anyone know if they over offer on places?

PizzaPastaPannaCotta · 27/01/2025 08:39

Offer deadlines this week for WUS, SPJS, and KCS. Good luck on picking schools for those with offers, and likewise god speed for movement (and phone calls) for those on waitlist!

Young royals have to attend somewhere, so unless they are homeschooled they'd be exposed to other kids and parents daily. Highgate parents are mostly working professionals as in other highly selective schools so it's not big on "influencers/Instagram" mums. Their pre-selection of day schools included only UCS and Highgate, suggesting that these two schools passed an initial vetting process based on factors such as distance/security/quality of education. The decision is yet to be made so I would completely dismiss the fact that royals might attend there out of your decision-making process. If they choose to attend any of those schools this will only benefit any chosen school.

@Caps44 @FutureWestLondonMommy - Congrats on your offers.

What is your opinion on the schools?

What are your main considerations?

Habs and City - may be too far for us

Very difficult decision.

Caps44 · 28/01/2025 12:42

@familyguy83 What are your choices? Ds or Dd?

For DS
Habs vs City vs UCS vs Highgate

FutureWestLondonMommy · 28/01/2025 12:56

We also have an offer from Latymer. No decisions yet..

Does anyone know how many girls/boys are on the reserve list, and if there is likely to be much movement before 5th February?

They are all good schools. Tough one. For us commute would be the first decider (we are central, so all work). Next facilities and then whether co-ed is important or not.

wisdomdreamer · 28/01/2025 13:48

I can't comment on how many B/Gs on RL but my niece has an offer from Latymer which they are planning to decline if this helps. they also know at least one boy from her class who already declined (or will decline) so there should be at least some movement.

By the way, anyone's daughter is declining Highgate? My niece is on RL and its their first choice they are anxious to know if there is any movement.

redrobin75 · 28/01/2025 16:36

@wisdomdreamer , they offer more places than expected acceptances so they won't go to WL until they have received a certain number of rejections.

Caps44 · 28/01/2025 16:38

Went to the afternoon offer holders session for City, interesting this year that there seems to be hardly any over offers this year? Head said we had 40 in the afternoon and I assume 40 in the morning. I can see many waiting list offers. Also seemed to be more girls than boys?

Anyone can clarify if WUS is automatic to upper or need to still sit 11+? I read on website it’s automatic but hearing apparently not and now the website language isn’t clear…

Superstar88 · 28/01/2025 19:57

You need to sit exam for WUS

Superstar88 · 28/01/2025 19:58
