Anyone else nervously awaiting primary school offer day

Is anyone else nervously awaiting primary school offer day? My nearest school we are not in catchment for. Unfortunately, the catchment boundary is my back and side fence due to a wiggly catchment boundary.

The school we are in catchment for is 5 mins further walk away but doesn’t have a great reputation. I feel like my life is on hold until 19th April as I hope my DD gets into my preferred school. I’ve applied for DS to go to the nursery next to the school I would like to go to as I don’t want to be doing two different pick ups and drop offs in completely different locations each day!

Yay! First choice offered!

I think there had been some kind of issue in our local authority as the portal says offers now being made on the 20th but we were sent emails at 1am.

Warrington’s portal is just saying server error 😫😫 I can’t get on and I’ve been trying all night. Can’t handle waiting much longer!

Still nothing published on mine - Newcastle - I’ve had the worst night sleep ever! Don’t put out on your social media that you can check offers on the portal from midnight and then not publish the offers on the portal….Angry

@BobbinHood we're County Durham and have clicked into the actual application and it's just updated.

We got our second choice and while I'm pleased I'm also incredibly nervous for DS. He doesn't seem old enough to be going to school!

I was trying to get on the Trafford portal overnight and this morning and it's not sending me the email for 2 step verification - I'd been logging on intermittently over the weekend so I know it was working a few days ago. Very annoying!!

I can't get my portal to work and it's so frustrating. Same issue as the poster up thread who said it's asking for details. Can't see any other link to press. Maybe the issue is being on my iPhone

Nothing updated on mine either. I'm in a London Borough, so no surprise there. Even though I know it won't be until 5pm at the earliest, I can't help but check regularly. Congratulations to those who have got what they wanted so far.

I'm in York, all the applications just say 'LA has received the application'. I don't think ours have been updated yet?

My portal still wont let me log on waiting for nine so i can phone and see what is going on. No access at all to the account since yesterday like it isnt stressful enough. In worrying that its an issue with my account and offer rather than a wider one

For all those waiting check what your LA says about how places are communicated ...for our LA we won't get an email until the 'afternoon' and they do t update the portal until a few days later (I think it's to stop everyone logging in at once and crashing the system)

My LA (NW) said they would email at 10am but I received an email at 7am. We got our first choice but now I'm wondering whether we made the right decision. The 3 local schools are outstanding so it was a very hard decision.

This might help for some. I haven't received an email or results through the portal yet but looking on my local council website, the results for applications for 2022 have been released and judging by the furthest distance offered you may be able to work out if you have a place in your preferred 1st choice.

Mine just says ‘application submitted’. London borough here. It says on the home page offers will be issued by email tonight. Sigh.

You originally picked that school for a reason. Trust your gut, and be thankfully you got your first choice. Smile

How does it work in Scotland littlebluetrain?
Most kids just automatically go to their catchment school. If you want them to attend another one, you put in a placing request for that specific school (but the LA doesn't have to grant the requested if the school is oversubscribed, for example).
