7+ exam

Anybody taking the 7+ exam this year? I have noticed there isn't a thread on it this year. We are going to be trying for St Paul's and Kings. At the moment we are really struggling with the comprehension. Anybody else in the same boat?

@Shehr You are welcome 😊

You wrote especially Kings because they do 3 assessment.
St Paul’s and Westminster also do 3 assessments but they will do the group assessment and 1:1 interview at the same day + parents will be having interview with headmasters for St Paul’s and Westminster.

Shehr · 22/11/2021 21:37

@Curiousma yes of course. I just meant Kings does all three assessments for all the 350+ boys so it must make the whole process a bit more subjective.

Hi does anyone know when we hear from King’s? Will we get an email or will it be in the post? Thanks.

Jesse21plus · 24/11/2021 11:45

Another post suggested it would be by post only… anyone has received? Or going to be tomorrow?

2minutesplease · 24/11/2021 11:48

I called them last week and they confirmed that they will send out the 1st class post today so we should expect it tomorrow morning.

Jesse21plus · 24/11/2021 12:05

@2minutesplease thank you!

Nail biting has started ….

muminwood · 24/11/2021 12:35

Any idea on the level of VR/NVR required for SPJ? Is it usually a lot higher than other schools?

Good luck to all who are waiting to hear back from Kings!

Shehr · 24/11/2021 12:41

Not really sure about the level but I heard a while ago that the VR and NVR scores are age standardised. Anyone else heard the same?

Same here. Kings is our first choice… how about you?

muminwood · 24/11/2021 14:10

Not sure. Some practise papers seem to be unusually tricky compared to others even for me.

indiesearcher · 24/11/2021 14:38

Jumping on to say I hope you all get good news this week. Also to ask, DS sat an assessment today at a good London prep, certainly not as competitive as St Paul's or Westminster though. We've not been told when they'll let us know the outcome - any guesses on how long we might wait?! There looked to be about 8 boys taking the assessment.

2minutesplease · 24/11/2021 14:48

Hi Indiesearcher, I’d call their Admissions and ask them. My DS was sitting 2 preps as well, they sent out results in 5 days. I know one prep which is sending our results in 3-4 weeks.

Superworriedmum · 24/11/2021 17:55

Good luck everyone for tomorrow!

Shehr · 25/11/2021 10:05

Lolakath19 · 25/11/2021 11:17

Well done Jesse21plus!

Jesse21plus · 25/11/2021 11:30

It’s a large A4 envelop

Suspot · 25/11/2021 11:53

Does large envelope(A4) mean good news and small envelope, bad news?Confused

Shehr · 25/11/2021 11:57

Is all post coming today or it may be tomorrow too?
