3+ 4+ 5+ 7+ Support thread 2019

In previous years I have started these threads to help and support all those involved in the independent school admissions process.

I wasn't going to start one this year as I know I would not be able to check back on it as regularly as I would like, which then defeats the purpose of the thread.

However, after numerous positive PM's about the threads I think it would be a shame not to start one where at least the hand holding can continue. 🤝

There are many many people who have been through the process and 'live to tell the tale' . There are also other tutors I know who read this thread and it would be great if you all could help and support and share your ideas👏🏼

Same q re St Helen's. Only 12 places so guessing 30 to 40 callbacks?

Any idea about number of callbacks for Habs boys 7+? Also, anyone else on the forum for WUS 7+ interview next week?

Does anyone know when JAPS might send out their letters inviting girls for interview who have made it through the first round of the 7+? Thanks.

We were told that the letters will be posted by end of next week.

Did anyone do Alleyn’s 7plus this week? Any idea on when results will be posted? The next assessment date on the website is 19/01.

Does anyone know how many boys get through to UCS 4+ round 2, and how many places they offer?

@cananymother, I am curious to know how the ucs 4+ Assessment went and what it involved? Did it require significant preparation as I understand is the case for places like the hall?

I can honestly say that we did nothing special - just all the things you would usually do at home with a 3 year old ie lots of stories, playing together, puzzles, pointing out numbers, when we see them etc. Normal stuff.

I have no idea what they did in the first round: afterwards he just said he played with everything and could he stay longer next time. I do know from his sleeves that playdough was involved...

Alleyns have said that they will post the 7+ letters on Friday, 1 Feb so I guess they will be arriving on Feb 2nd.

The waiting is SO difficult, isn’t it?!

Does anyone know how many girls applied to JAPS at 7+? Or how many places they will be offering? I feel like I heard that there would be 18 places but maybe I just made that up... I wonder how many they will invite back for interview.

I asked one of the staff members in JAPS re number of places. She said roughly around 10 places.

So few places at Alleyns and JAPS!

The 19 jan assessment date is for children who haven’t been assessed yet. There is no round two or call back for interviews. It’s all decided in the one half day assessment session they have. It’s all so crazily competitive!

Anyone know when DC Junior School posts out offers or rejections for activity morning?

NLCS 4+ results/second round invitations are out!!!

Saw NLCS results (have been refreshing all afternoon). Now to wait for Channing news - anyone know when we are supposed to hear back from them?

Does anybody actually know how many girls are assessed vs accepted at Falkner House, Glendower, Ken Prep or Francis Holland?
