3+ 4+ 5+ 7+ Support thread 2019

In previous years I have started these threads to help and support all those involved in the independent school admissions process.

I wasn't going to start one this year as I know I would not be able to check back on it as regularly as I would like, which then defeats the purpose of the thread.

However, after numerous positive PM's about the threads I think it would be a shame not to start one where at least the hand holding can continue. 🤝

There are many many people who have been through the process and 'live to tell the tale' . There are also other tutors I know who read this thread and it would be great if you all could help and support and share your ideas👏🏼

(Roll on 2019!) 😉

Interest to know if anyone got any experience of what the children are assessed on For 4+ at the north london boys schools such as The Hall and UCS. Thanks.

Has anyone got a dd currently in reception at habs

Hi, gutted I've just seen this thread. Anyone who has experience in the 4+ application form for highgate please? they won't see all the applicants so I guess the 'personal statement' on the application will be crucial in deciding whether the kid is going to be shortlisted for interviews.

Many parents will list what their child can do ‘academically’
Try and think of the things unique to your child.
Look over the school website and get a feel for the type of school it is and then see how your son will fit in and why.

Hiya just wondered if anyone had any advice for us re what the expect at the group assessment at Habs. Seems to be no support thread for those going through the process this year. Thanks in advance 😊

Habs group assessment is the second round I believe this year as the first one was zoom assessment. Group day is all about activities done in group for example PE, arts and crafts, and different games they play where they look for problem solving / listening skills and how well do the kid work in a group. Previously they used to have a small English/maths test too but not sure if it will happen this year given the zoom assessment that happened in the first round.
Hope that helps.
