In previous years I have started these threads to help and support all those involved in the independent school admissions process.

I wasn't going to start one this year as I know I would not be able to check back on it as regularly as I would like, which then defeats the purpose of the thread.

However, after numerous positive PM's about the threads I think it would be a shame not to start one where at least the hand holding can continue. 🤝

There are many many people who have been through the process and 'live to tell the tale' . There are also other tutors I know who read this thread and it would be great if you all could help and support and share your ideas👏🏼

Sciencelovingmum, sorry to hear that! They are so little! I am sure it is the schools' loss! I hope you have a good alternative offer lined up? Best of luck!

It is very disheartening because it's hard not to take the rejection to heart. We are on the waiting list for a couple of other non assessment based schools for our DS. We moved to the area not long who so didn't do the whole registering at birth, which has worked against us.

Really just makes me want to move away from K&C.

Good evening, all. Been lurking to read about the Highgate 3+ As we were waiting to hear how our DS did. We aren’t a sibling and nor do we live anywhere near the school, so we weren’t hopeful. Yesterday, we found out that he’s been invited back for second round, so we are thrilled

Thank you for letting me know and I’m sorry to hear sciencelovingmum. We didn’t hear anything so I’m assuming that’s not a good sign either. I have found it is harder taking rejection for my little one than for myself, but I guess I need to keep things in perspective. Wishing everyone out there all the best for this painful process.

Well they are little but I’m so stressed and can’t sleep as will get Highgate result tomorrow.
My son is really bright and I have been working with him since January 2018. He normally gets 90% in maths when I test him but totally messed up UCS maths exam 😭
Needless to say, he didn’t get an offer. His Highgate interview was on the 17th of this month. I don’t know how many boys they called for interview and how many offers were posted today?
All this is so so stressful and every rejection breaks my heart. My expectation are low as he doesn’t have a sibling in HG. Just feeling so low. I wish luck to all here.

Assume SHHS emails are due out today as well? Waiting to hear back from them, since preference would be to send DD there, since that is a 5 mins walk for us, whereas NLCS means a coach.

@litan8 my fingers (and toes) are obviously crossed for you. I’ve had a strong coffee and I’m trying to be more zen about it...Whatever happens and wherever she ends up, my DD will be fine......I hope!?

My son is on the reserve list at Highgate. I’m disappointed but at least it’s not a rejection. Fingers crossed
