Is anyone else dying to find out which school they have been allocated?

This is for my PFB which makes it extra difficult for me :(

I can't talk about it in real life as it starts off as a nice casual conversation ending with some delusions of grandeur PFB nonsense Blush

Oh no goandshowdaddy my DD1 is in our first choice school as well and luckily we got DD2 in as well but no idea what I would have done if we got 2nd or 3rd choice.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 16/04/2015 00:40

Goandshow - that is a bit awkward Sad. What was the admissions criteria for your first choice? Where we are, siblings almost always get top priority after SEN & looked after children Confused.

NotAHope · 16/04/2015 00:50

Really confused, am in hampshire, logged on earlier and it just showed my choices, then after midnight it shows this error
Offer Response

There has been a problem publishing your offer information to the website. Please contact us using the link below if you have not received your offer by letter

I know I've not done anything wrong, I applied on the first day and got all confirmation emails etc, and definitely not heard anything since.
Feel sick now that ds hasn't got a place anywhere and it's something I've done Sad

IronMaggie · 16/04/2015 00:52

I've just stayed up far too late refreshing the page, and just realised our results don't get sent out until tomorrow! Silly. Going to bed now, will try not to fixate on the worst case scenario...

MrsGrimes · 16/04/2015 00:57

So upset and confused about what to do now.

Only put down one choice because it's less than a mile, takes 10 mins to walk there and DS currently attends the preschool there and loves it.

Been offered a place at a school over 2 and a half miles away (which is currently under special measures by Ofsted) which will be an hour walk with DS, or a 10 min walk plus a train (then the same for me back so I'll be on the train 4 times a day) or I somehow to learn to drive before September and magic money out my arse to afford a second car (DP needs his for work) Sad

School I put down had 30 places this year (45 attend the preschool) but last year took a bumper year so had 60 places and everyone who applied last year got a place.

Twine88 · 16/04/2015 01:01

We didnt get into any of our four choices. The school we have been offered is shit...only plus side is its a shit school we can walk to. Feel numb, brain has turned to mush. I need advice from the wise mumsnetters.

icclemunchy · 16/04/2015 01:08

Ok I feel sick, apparently our placements get emailed to use this even. But having looked at the admission thing again it mentions sending proof or your child's DOB and I can't for the life of me remember doing it. I had a prem baby beginning of jan and have this awful feeling I forgot to do it.

Have I screwed any chance of getting a school near us? (London) will they refuse to allocate us if I did forget?

3asAbird · 16/04/2015 01:19

So sorry Mrs grime and twine.
I haven't found home educating reception too hard this year.you can still use preschool hours until term after 5th birthday.

zippyswife · 16/04/2015 01:19

I didn't get my first choice. I'm so gutted- I had assumed we would as we practically live round the corner and it's never been oversubscribed before. Instead we got given our second choice- a more prestigious faith school. I Can't understand.

fluffymouse · 16/04/2015 01:20

I'm guessing no one from London has heard?

Those who have got results, did you get an email telling you to log in?

Tense wait here

ShadowStone · 16/04/2015 01:32

I got an e-mail with the offer.

Abernathie · 16/04/2015 01:59

I didn't get offered any of my choices and have ended up with a poor school. Crap crap crap ??

zippyswife · 16/04/2015 02:19

Oh abernathie sorry to hear that.

I am relieved to have got my second choice but just so shocked gutted and deflated as I had stupidly assumed we'd get our first choice- as it's probably the least well regarded of any of the schools round here and we live so close. I almost think there's a mistake.

Our second choice on the other hand which received an offer for is over 3 miles away and an outstanding faith school. We didn't think we'd even get it as our first choice. I'm all Confused

Twoplus3 · 16/04/2015 04:32

Congratulations to everyone who have had good news, sorry to those who's news isn't so brilliant. I've just woke after having the weirdest of dreams so thought I'd check see if our offer has come through and surprise surprise, the council's website has crashed, keeps saying server error!

MTWTFSS · 16/04/2015 04:42

"From 12:01am on Thursday 16th April 2015 the online system will be unavailable whilst primary/junior/middle allocation information is loaded. Full system access will be restored in the evening of Thursday 16th April 2015." - f*k you Hertfordshire making us wait all sh**ing day!!!

Congratulations those who got what they wanted :) Sorry to those who didn't :(

goandshowdaddy · 16/04/2015 04:46

I don't know what to do. How am I supposed to get two children to two different primary schools at the same time?

Twoplus3 · 16/04/2015 04:46

Aw that's absolutely ridiculous making you wait all that time, ours says emails go out at 8am, but a friend of mine told me they were sent around 3am last year so I thought I'd have a sneaky look, no such luck though.

Twoplus3 · 16/04/2015 04:53

GO, was the school you applied for out of catchment? Only I have dd at an out of catchement catholic school and there's a real possibility that I too might have two children and two different schools as Ds isn't high up the list.

goandshowdaddy · 16/04/2015 05:00

Half of our road was in catchment and half out (we're in the out half!). It's CofE so churchgoers had priority too. I'm really upset. No idea how I'm going to manage.

Twoplus3 · 16/04/2015 05:05

Oh I'm really sorry! That's shocking that half the street is in catchment and half isn't, are you going to appeal?

goandshowdaddy · 16/04/2015 05:11

I will. But I don't fancy my chances.

goandshowdaddy · 16/04/2015 05:12

Fingers crossed for you Twoplus3

Twoplus3 · 16/04/2015 05:16

Well you can only try, and you never no you might get in on appeal. I always found it strange that for most catholic schools the criteria is all about being baptised and living as close to school as possible but for CofE schools you have to have attended church for so many months over like two years or something, that's quite strict criteria isn't it.

Mrs grimes, why on earth did you only put one school down? Shock

You could try arranging to go on waiting lists for your preferred school (they might tell you where you are on the list) and any others that you would prefer, a place could come up.
