Is anyone else dying to find out which school they have been allocated?

This is for my PFB which makes it extra difficult for me :(

I can't talk about it in real life as it starts off as a nice casual conversation ending with some delusions of grandeur PFB nonsense Blush

Hello all, and good luck

How long do you reckon it's polite to wait before going to ask someone else on our street where their child got in? It'll be us in a couple of years time and I really want to know what's happened as our street fell outside all the local schools last year

LadyFlumpalot · 15/04/2015 20:48

Hiya, latecomer here. I'm in Wiltshire and will find out after 7am tomorrow. Nervous!

Ayse1980ayse · 15/04/2015 20:51

I'm nervous too! I want to know but don't want to look ??

hillyhilly · 15/04/2015 20:52

Nerves are building, the phone is coming to bed with us so we can check if we wake up, we seem to remember it came through about 4am last time though of course there is no way of knowing when it might come tomorrow, I hope it's arrived by the time we leave for school,
Am not expecting good news but even if I was, I am not patient by nature!!

Gileswithachainsaw · 15/04/2015 20:53

Hello lady

late comers are of course always welcome Smile

I hope to hear good news from you too Flowers

Patatas · 15/04/2015 20:53

Nerves are kicking in here too, will be very shocked if we don't get our first choice but you never know.

Gileswithachainsaw · 15/04/2015 20:53

And from you hilly Smile

Gileswithachainsaw · 15/04/2015 20:54

And patas

trying to keep up here sorry Grin

Justtrying · 15/04/2015 20:55

Thanks everyone, email doesn't say anything other than offer or no offer so will wait for paper confirmation, will spend any available moment gathering info for appeal over next few days but up at silly o'clock for work in the morning and away for 6 days so will catch up when I can.

Good luck everyone else.

TheImprobableGirl · 15/04/2015 20:57

Another latecomer..... Only reading this thread has made me vairy stressed!! Am in Worcester and thought that being in catchment would be ok.... But there are 110 children of age in catchment and only 90 places (three reception classes of 30)

Second choice is always full.... And third is miles away

I really don't want to be slotted into the juxta school either :( :(

Can they just change catchment?!

Gileswithachainsaw · 15/04/2015 20:59

thelm

I hope you are amongst the lucky Flowers

Gileswithachainsaw · 15/04/2015 21:00

Sorry theImprobable

seafoodeatit · 15/04/2015 21:02

Hello to all the late comers Wine

improbable hopefully a good number of them will be going to another school.

PlumpingThePartTimeMother · 15/04/2015 21:03

Very Envy of those who have had their news early..... chewing my fingernails here!!

DH said 'I don't know why these people flap so much. What will be will be, after all.'

Reader, I threw a brick at him.

Gileswithachainsaw · 15/04/2015 21:05

got a spare one (brick) plumber

dp Is the same. but then I do all the school runs so.....

seafoodeatit · 15/04/2015 21:05

plump that's the attitude my DH is taking too.

Whether lo gets in to our first choice will be determined by less than 0.1 miles, it's crazy - last year last distance was 0.687 the year before that .065 - we're 0.66.

Gileswithachainsaw · 15/04/2015 21:05

plumping

sorry. I'm. tired I've had wine and I can't think I'm so nervous. sorry for typos

Ayse1980ayse · 15/04/2015 21:07

plumping I hope you didn't miss Grin
The more I'm told to relax, the more stressed I become.

nutelladipper · 15/04/2015 21:14

The improbable - I'm Worcestershire too!

preggersbycheggers · 15/04/2015 21:16

Not sure what time ours is announced (Oxfordshire). Have been onto the portal just now and it still says offer will be displayed here 16 April.

Our 1st choice is out of catchment but is our closest school. My DS also attends preschool there, not that that makes a jot of difference.

2nd choice is a school that I'm not keen on but is the only one we can get to without buying another car....grrrrr!

PlumpingThePartTimeMother · 15/04/2015 21:22

Don't worry, my aim is true Grin

He does feel that the school system is insanely stupid however. I suspect he's mentally sticking his fingers in his ears and going lalala because he'll have to do most of the pick-ups wherever DS1 gets in.

Coldcabbagestew · 15/04/2015 21:24

Another latecomer here. Good chance of getting our first choice school but still panicking. Paranoid I forgot to fill out the online form properly.

Good luck to everyone

MTWTFSS · 15/04/2015 21:35

Good luck cold

timeforacheckup · 15/04/2015 21:38

It"s so annoying, one of our main reasons for moving to our house was that it was in the catchment area for our first choice school - then they scrapped catchment areas Angry.
Last year no one over a mile away got in, we are 1.1miles away!!

Gileswithachainsaw · 15/04/2015 21:41

Oh god time Sad
