Is anyone else dying to find out which school they have been allocated?

This is for my PFB which makes it extra difficult for me :(

I can't talk about it in real life as it starts off as a nice casual conversation ending with some delusions of grandeur PFB nonsense Blush

Don't joke about that!!! It is a very sore subject (I found 2 white hairs in my fringe last week) :(

I'm feeling nervous now. I can't find the info where it says how far away last child admitted was. Only the category in which they fell. I've scoured the local council website! I suppose I'll find out next week, but this last week seems to take forever!

Gileswithachainsaw · 09/04/2015 13:03

I've got a steak at teh front these days. I'm only in my 30s

MrsGannicus · 09/04/2015 18:13

Can't believe we have to wait 7 more days. This is going to drag. Thursday itself will be the longest day ever!

Purplepenguin555 · 09/04/2015 18:57

I am new to mumsnet, hope I can join into this chat as I am also waiting to find out which school my daughter has got ! I have been on the countdown since January I am just hoping for 1st choice but not very hopeful only 7 days. Heard the email comes through at midnight is that right?

tiggy or anyone else do you know if it is midnight at the end of the 16th or midnight 15th going into 16th? We are currently 6 hours behind so hopefully I can find out before we go to bed rather than waiting up until midnight or waiting until we get up next morning - so long as it is good news I will then be able to sleep! thnx

tiggy thanks, I think we log on to retrieve the result so will try late on the 15th and see what is there. I am champing at the bit not just so we know about Reception and can relax (a bit) but also so we can then apply for Y3 place for Sept for our older child as really need them at the same school - so many pieces of the puzzle when one is moving house nevermind country! School places first, will worry about where to actually live after that...

ShadowStone · 09/04/2015 23:07

I've just realised that I've forgotten my password for testing online application system.

But the council website says that they will send out e-mails with the school offers.

Do I need to see if I can get the password reset if they send out e-mails?

(Why didn't I write the password down?!?)

Gileswithachainsaw · 09/04/2015 23:09

Isn't there the usual "forgotten your password" link ?

ShadowStone · 09/04/2015 23:37

This is going to sound terribly superstitious, but I'm nervous of it somehow screwing up the whole system and losing DS1's details altogether if I start poking at it for new passwords.

I probably need to pull myself together and get a grip....

Gileswithachainsaw · 09/04/2015 23:40

No I understand that I logged in then panicked id accidently erased something Blush

ButterflyUpSoHigh · 10/04/2015 07:45

In my city you can login from 12.01a.m. on allocation day to the website.

Emails arrived about 9a.m.

Letters were POSTED on allocation day and arrived 2 days later.

Anyone who didn't apply online had to wait for the letter to arrive. You could call the LEA on this day to find out your allocation but not before.

Mine are long past this stage but I remember the sleepless nights and panic. I hope you all get what you want. The admissions experts on here are fantastic with advice if you don't.

Gileswithachainsaw · 10/04/2015 07:49

Thanks butterfly Smile

6 days

Pagerty · 10/04/2015 08:30

It's the fist thing I think of when I wake up each morning. I am convinced I filled it out incorrectly so that it will be void Hmm

MTWTFSS · 10/04/2015 08:31

Good morning Giles :) I'm so happy the days are moving forward and soon enough we'll know!

Gileswithachainsaw · 10/04/2015 08:32

Yes its impossible to not think like that isn't it pag

I keep expecting an email. or letter claiming they didn't receive it or the address confirmation or I filled the DOB in wrong.

You have my sympathies Flowers

MTWTFSS · 10/04/2015 08:33

Pagerty :( Can you not log in to check it?

OP posts:
Pagerty · 10/04/2015 08:34

I also logged back in just before closing day, saw the message which said if you continue and don't re save, your application won't go through, panicked and shut it down quickly. The sane part of me knows that's fine, the other part is in panic mode. It's going to be a long 6 days.

Pagerty · 10/04/2015 08:35

Sorry cross posted, I know it's silly but like shadow I daren't in case it messes it up again. I'm a lost cause.

Gileswithachainsaw · 10/04/2015 08:36

Morning MTWTFSS

and to everyone else Smile

Purplepenguin555 · 10/04/2015 08:44

I am just so nervous put my catchment area school 2nd so will most probably get that but preferred a school that's out of catchment area but thought if you don't try you don't get so could get lucky not long now only 6 days !!!!

Bunnyjo · 10/04/2015 09:17

According to my LA, emails will be sent out on the morning of the 16th and, from previous experience, they have been there by 6am.

We can also view our online application as the result will be posted there.

Letters to all applicants are posted out on the morning of the 16th, so those who have completed an paper application may not find out their allocation until 17th/18th.
