My DM finally listened to me and went out today to shop, she was amazed that the pasta was all gone, most of the loo rolls and all the SR flour (amongst other things). I had to bite my lip to not say I told you so. I talked to her every day last week about getting some food in. Hopefully now she will take me seriously and make sure she and DF have a good couple of months supply of their prescription medicines and vitamins. But then again.... She was grateful that I have posted her 2 of my good Vogmasks masks, some Mucinex and zinc lozenges.

@WokClock @Destinysdaughter. Yep I'm the same. I eat relatively low carb anyway but piled the pounds on in Jan eating cashew nuts like they were going out of fashion. So I'm currently dieting back into my jeans and a swimsuit for our Cornwall hols. But those look unlikely, and I can prob just wear leggings and sink into the food couldn't I?!

Any thoughts on the six nations matches at the weekend? We are meant to be headed to the women's match at Twickenham stoop. I'm hoping they will cancel and play behind closed doors but I think it's wishful thinking - I have at least convinced Dh to book parking nearby and walk instead of the usual park and train in but I'm getting increasingly apprehensive about going.

Prep wise we've got food for several weeks as I always keep a good stock and I've counted up 18 bars of soap so we will at least be clean.

According to BBC there is currently an emergency COBRA meeting being held following today's jump in cases. Which seems odd to me? Surely it was entirely predictable that we would see a jump? Why the emergency meeting?

I don’t know Missus. Emergency rather than scheduled sounds odd. Says Hancock is chairing, can he call the meeting? Maybe it’s a health care capacity panic if the jump was bigger than expected, meaning forecasted need for nhs care might happen faster than they have anticipated?

nightshade1 this is just my opinion, but there are now cases in Kingston which is not far from Kingston. I was supposed to be going on a women's March in London this weekend and after a lot of thought, I've decided not to go. May be an overreaction, but I just don't want to take the risk if I don't have to. Ultimately it's your choice, depends on how important it is to you. You could always sell your tickets!

@MissusMaker My guess would be to stretch things out on their side, we didn't get any information other than wash your hands from that COBRA meeting so I think they are trying to delay panic as much as possible maybe?

My 6 yo twins school is cool. They did a germ workshop before Christmas, complete with model germs and how they spread. They have been making sure the kids practice good hygiene, and built on the workshop stuff to explain about the coronavirus in an age appropriate way. Catch it,k bin it etc not scary at all but important.

Obviously kids will be kids but they came home and washed their hands then TOLD me that the gel was great for when you are out, but washing hands properly was just as good for in the house...that's me told then😂

DH off to see family in Holland tomorrow. I am so glad I'm prepped as it means that if he gets stuck for any reason I will be okay with the 3 kids. I do have family nearby, but if we get put into isolation who knows what will or won't be possible.

@YoursTunbridgeWells my last two Sainsbury's orders have been complete, but I haven't been buying handgel. Noticed their own brand Berrocca were out of stock but not others. They also have Idaohan instant mash which we tried last week after seeing it on here , much better than mash of my youth. Substitution s are usually reasonable
